You'll find Barn Owl Roost down its own private road, tucked away and overlooking a lovely emerald green valley. This lovingly converted barn is surrounded by over 70 acres of arable farmland and is very private, perfect for a secluded getaway. It's a doggie paradise with plenty of walks from your front door and the one-level property with slate flooring throughout means they'll be happy inside too. The owner's can arrange a heated kennel or dog sitting service so if you want to go out and leave your pooch behind, they'll be well looked after. Don't be surprised if you glimpse a partridge or a guinea fowl from the window - they are bred nearby and like to roam around!

Living

A step leads to the front door which opens up to a light and airy space with vaulted ceilings, slate flooring with under floor heating and thoughtful lighting throughout. To the left plush cream sofas face lovely French windows that can be opened up in the warmer weather to bring the countryside in to you. In cooler weather the stunning wood burner makes the space uber-cosy, making it perfect for curling up on the sofa and maybe watching a film with a glass of red to hand.

Eating

A timeless bespoke shaker-style kitchen, beautifully decorated in a charming hue of creamy white, boasts cool slate work surfaces and pale blue tiles. With all the usual mod cons including a Bosch oven, hob and microwave, a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine, and being really very well stocked equipment-wise, this is a great space for cooking - maybe for preparing some fresh fish bought straight from the harbours edge in Padstow? A pretty farmhouse-style dining table and benches sit handily close to the kitchen whilst outside on the patio there's a table and chairs to eat al fresco - perfect for watching the sun creep higher in the sky at breakfast, or the orange glow of sunset turn to an inky blackness over dinner.

Sleeping

Barn Owl Roost has two double bedrooms, Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and en suite shower-room, huge hand-crafted wardrobes. Bedroom 2 has a zip and link bed (super-king size or twin beds) and use of the family bathroom. Soft cotton bedding is used in both, with warm throws on the beds.

Bathing

The en suite to the master bedroom boasts a roomy walk in shower and beautifully made light grey cabinets, marble surfaces and natural stone tiles. The family bathroom with exposed beams has a bath with a huge drench-head shower, heated towel rail and lots of shelving space. Toiletries are provided in both, alongside thick, fluffy white towels.

Baby friendly

Barn Owl Roost is a baby friendly property providing a travel cot (bring your own bedding) and highchair plus a microwave bottle steriliser and plastic crockery/cutlery. On request a bath seat and plug socket guards can be provided, do request these at the time of booking.

One step leads from the living space onto the patio, there are further steps leading from the patio onto the lawn below.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Barn Owl Roost:

Exceptional place, we love it a little slice of heaven.

It’s our 3rd time staying there in about 18 months…..says it all. We can’t get enough, will hopefully be back again sometime.

A fabulous place to relax and unwind in a beautiful location.

We are heading back for our t 3rd year in a row with our 8 yo daughter and dog. It is just wonderful!

Caters for all your needs in relaxing, beautiful setting

Everything just perfect for us.

First class accommodation. Really home from home. Lovely views and location. In our case it was certainly well worth the long drive for the stunning swimming pool. Great base for exploring.

It was perfect for us and in a great position on the site.

Fabulous attention to detail. Wonderful owners. A very classy operation.

Just magnificent.

Beautiful cottage with outstanding views and an amazing garden area for any dogs. The house is decorated to a very high standard, we have already booked to come back next year !

Barn Owl Roost was a great location for an enjoyable stay in North Cornwall. Near enough to Padstow to be able to enjoy the restaurants but far enough away to be able to get away from it all and relax. The owners have thought of everything and were very responsive when we needed some help with our car. Definitely recommended.

Our stay at Barn Owl Roost on Trevear Farm was simply perfect from start to finish. Booking was easy and communication prior to the holiday was excellent. The little touches are so important aren't they and Trevear Farm does them really well, things like staff at the farm receiving my shopping delivery prior to my arrival so that it was unpacked and already stored away in cupboards/fridge/freezer when I arrived, and the offer of a farm tour, really helped to make us feel welcome. The holiday house was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we could have possibly needed. The pool is gorgeous, we had it to ourselves for most of the week and it's a real stand out feature of the holiday. Thank you for a lovely, relaxing holiday Trevear Farm, I'm looking forward to booking my next visit to this fabulous Cornish gem!

An idyllic little peaceful gem - absolutely loved it and hope to return.

Absolutely amazing location and fantastic hosts. Absolutely amazing location and fantastic hosts.

So good that while we were there we booked to come back later in the year with the family to stay in one of the larger cottages on the farm.

It was perfect. We’ve already rebooked for next year!

Beautiful location and stunning property.

It was so good we have booked again for October. It had everything we needed for rainy or sunny days, great location, dogs loved the garden we all had a great holiday.

The location is perfect and the farm is kept immaculate we wanted complete peace and quiet from this holiday and that’s what we got! The beautiful views and wildlife were so relaxing property was warm and comfortable we have been visiting Cornwall regularly for more than 10 years this would be our favourite property to date we will be back for a stay in the Autumn Kelly

Absolutely perfect holiday destination- swimming pool and gym on site and a lovely outlook from the large enclosed garden. One of the best equipped cottages we have ever stayed in (we have stayed in many) Can recommend both the cottage and "Boutique retreats" with no reservation.

Gorgeous little cottage, very private and excellently decorated with top quality appliances and robes in the bathrooms. The owners were really friendly and helpful and the pool was incredible too! Thank you!

Beautiful location, well equipped property, finished to a very high standard. Wonderful hamper on arrival. Would highly recommend . Super helpful and lovely owner

It was fabulous but what made it was the tour of the farm by the owner (Sam). A lovely touch and it didn't cost anything. We also bought a load of meat from the farm and have since cooked some and it is top notch. Another plus. Tap water is purified and one is able to drink it so no need to bring bottled water. This is a huge plus and should be advertised. As soon as I knew this I was drinking tap water by the bucket load!

It was a perfect escape and very well kept/presented.

Love Trevear farm. Brilliantly run by brilliant people. My girls loved the animals and farm tour. Already booked next year :)

Absolutely beautiful. Anything and everything you could want was at hand. The dogs thought it was brilliant.

Outstanding location, wonderful accommodation, totally private and magical

5 star Accommodation, the accommodation had everything for a perfect holiday, great location. Sam and Rachel were the pefect hosts - 1st class and very helpful.

We have just stayed at Barn Owl Roost , it is the best place we have ever stayed , the location is stunning , Sam and Rachel are passionate about their properties and it is reflected in the quality of the furnishings and outside areas which are so well maintained , everything is thought about to make a real home from home . We have already booked for next year .

Very friendly owners giving good care and service. The barn was just perfect for our holiday, very private, comfortable and well equipped. The working farm with daily newborn lambs was just brilliant. Will definitely try to get back next year.

we've already booked same location for next year ;-)

Overall very enjoyable 2nd visit to Barn Owl Roost. Owners happy to allow 3 dogs which suits us.

Absolutely lovely

To escape too, to unwind at, to relax in Barn Owl Retreat is the place.

Another wonderful holiday at Trevear Farm.

Really nice and very welcoming.

This stay was amazing! House was beautiful, lovely and clean with a well received welcome hamper and bottle of wine to get us started! Wonderful enclosed garden for the dog to run around in! We will be back certainly with our family again!

We met one of the owners who said they were always wanting to ensure that guests were pampered. From the welcome hamper to the design, facilities and cleanliness of the accommodation this was certainly true.

Barn Owl Roost was everything and more. Kitted out to the highest standards with a few additional touches ensuring it was that extra bit special. Located in a secluded spot making it perfect for bbqs and drinks on the terrace, plus the large secure garden was amazing for the children and dog! Trevear Farm is a great base to explore the very best Cornwall has to offer, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

We absolutely loved our visit to Barn Owl Roost, a real treat! Great accommodation in a stunning location - will definitely be returning!

Our second stay at Barn Owl and the high standards have been maintained. Improvement includes the creation of a “grassed area” that was great for the children to let off steam / play games. The resident menagerie was also a nice distraction. We will book this house again
