Living

Step inside to be greeted by the welcoming entrance hall of Halcyon, built in 1850, where an elegant boot room with bespoke joinery awaits. Illuminated by Tom Raffield lighting and warmed by underfloor heating, this space features a distressed country table and chocolate brown leather chesterfield and is a beautiful segue to the ground floor living areas.

Explore to uncover four reception rooms in which to relax. The spacious lounge has a double-sided slate wood burning stove positioned in between the sitting and dining rooms. A restful space seamlessly blending period features and modern touches, home to two large sofas in olive and mushroom, along with two fireside armchairs in a cosy corner, a window seat and two elegant armchairs, providing plenty of room for everyone to come together. Adjoining the lounge, a separate informal snug area is styled with a three-seater sofa in William Morris Kelmscott Gardens fabric and a loveseat in raspberry velvet. Both the lounge and the snug have Smart TVs for evening entertainment, and there is also a PS5 games console to entertain little ones in the snug.

For those moments of stillness lost in film or fable, a light-filled living area, designed for adults to enjoy, can be found on the first floor. Bathed in tranquil tones, this restful space has a three-seater sofa and a cosy armchair, as well as a Smart TV and bookcases adorned with staycation reads. Beckoning for creative expression, this study space promises peaceful pauses, complete with a window-side desk for workcation moments with a wonderful garden view. Each room is beautifully curated with furniture, soft furnishings and lighting from Soho Home, Neptune and Tom Raffield, along with a curated collection of photography captured by the retreat owner and artwork from Cornish artists featured throughout.

Please note, Halcyon is not suitable for stag and hen parties.

On one side, exposed stone walls harmonise heritage features and rich details, and on the other, gently arching kitchen cabinetry with garden-view windows proposes somewhere idyllic to craft repasts. Illuminated by pendant lighting, a striking kitchen island with space for eight follows the curves of the room and invites for drawn-out conversations as the chefs unwrap creativity and bottles are uncorked. To assist you'll find two ovens, a slow cooker with a warming drawer, a four-oven Aga and a range of Miele and Neff appliances, including separate fridge-freezers for food and drink.
