We're delighted to introduce you to this warm, welcoming homestay, set in the heart of iconic Padstow yet set back enough to be a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of town.

A Grade II listed home built in the 1750s, Rosehill was at one time a doctors' home and surgery for Padstow's residents. One doctor was reputedly a friend of Charles Dickens, who has said to have stayed here on occasion, so you're in esteemed company should you choose to stay here!

With five stunning bedrooms sleeping up to eight lucky guests, this is a spacious, luxurious dog friendly homestay, both within a short walk of the centre of Padstow and a sandy beach - the best of both worlds! Downstairs, open-plan living plus a tucked-away sitting room means there's space to gather, whilst outside there's a stunning garden for summer days. This dreamy abode also has a parking space - a rare commodity in this ancient town.

Having previously been a doctors' surgery, Rosehill enjoys a fabulous position in Padstow, and if you're lucky enough to stay over the 1st May, you'll witness the May Day parade and the famous 'Obby 'Oss pass right by the front door!

Special lower occupancy rate

A special lower occupancy rate applies outside of school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year. For four guests and under the discount is 20%. At this rate, the Master bedroom and the second bedroom 'Teal' will be available for you.

If you have any queries or would like to book, please don't hesitate to get in touch on 01872 553 491 or email enquiries@boutique-retreats.co.uk.

Living

The cosy, peaceful sitting room lies to the right of the hallway entrance with two large, three-seater sofas, beanbags for extra seating, characterful panelled walls, wood-effect fire, and a 50" OLED TV with Sky Q box, Sky Sports, Sky Movies and Netflix for film nights in. The dual aspect windows make this a bright, airy room with views to the front and traditional shuttered windows for privacy.

On the third floor is a hidden gem - a fantastic attic room with stunning views over Padstow and out towards the Camel estuary. This spacious room, ideal for younger guests, has a sofa, a 42" TV, Sky Q mini box, DVD player, Wii and Xbox game consoles with a selection of games.

Eating

We just love the large, open-plan kitchen and dining area - the perfect space for everyone to come together, whether you're celebrating a special occasion such as Christmas, or simply taking a moment in your busy lives to come together.

The kitchen, which lies to the back of the room, comes equipped with everything you could possibly need, such as the gas-fired cream Aga, additional electric oven and hob, American style fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Kitchen Aid mixer, blender, and the all-important Nespresso DeLonghi Gran Lattissima coffee machine. There's also a central island, offering plenty of space to prep food for those fabulous family feasts.

To the front of the room lies the dining area, overlooking the front of the house. Seating 10, this spacious table is just perfect for entertaining, whilst there's a sofa and two armchairs nestled in front of the open fire and comfy window seats from which to gaze - the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. To set your getaway mood, uncover the SONOS 5 speaker to create a heavenly playlist to soundtrack your holiday.

In addition, there's a washing machine and tumble dryer kept in the laundry room.

Sleeping and bathing

There are five stunning bedrooms to choose from, three of which are en suite and all equally sumptuous spaces!

Four of the bedrooms lie on the first floor, promising only the most blissful of slumbers. The master bedroom, with views over the Camel estuary, has a stunning, unique 18th century French painted king-sized bed, with ViSpring mattress. Open the gorgeous original stained glass window door to the en suite bathroom, complete with a darling slipper bath and walk in shower.

The 'Teal' bedroom boasts a super king-sized brass bed, with swoon-worthy views over the estuary and an en suite shower room.

The middle, 'Blue' room offers soothing interior design, with a king-sized bed dressed in calming hues and dreamy estuary views.

The 'Sage Green' garden room has lovely views over the beautiful lawns, with a brass double bed and an en suite shower room adorned with travertine tiles.

The fifth bedroom lies on the second floor and has stunning views over Padstow and the estuary. With twin beds, this is a fabulous room for little ones as it's set next to the attic room - the perfect spot for children to hide out and play. Please note, the stairs to this bedroom are quite steep and little ones may require supervision.

In addition, part way up the stairs from the ground floor you'll find the family shower room, whilst downstairs there's a loo in the laundry room.

All the beds come swathed in luxurious linens, soft bedding and tactile cushions and throws. The bath and shower rooms have heated rails to ensure towels are kept warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

Step outside to discover gorgeous, enclosed mature gardens in which to relax. The top sun-soaked terrace, which catches the morning sun, is perfect for breakfast and morning coffee. The main gardens and lawn, equipped with four sun loungers, is perfect for afternoon sunbathing and games, whilst the super-sweet boat seat is the best spot for sundowners. In addition, there's a Weber gas barbeque and a dining table for eight, perfect for alfresco meals.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Rosehill:

An absolute beautiful house , gardens and perfect location to walk into Padstow , no car needed.

Excellent location Immaculate garden

We loved the proximity of this house and enjoyed our stay very much.

Had a relaxing week away with a cottage that is very central and quiet. Lovely garden for good BBQ’s

Excellent cottage in stunning location, a lovely home for a Cornish family break.

This is a very peaceful house, the location is just perfect. A short walk away from the hubbub of Padstow yet completely tranquil and calm. Great house for families and extremely warm and comfortable.

Beautiful house. Would be fantastic family and friends stay in Padstow. Easy reach of the town and walks. Food in Padstow is outstanding.

Beautifully located to enjoy Padtsow, the town, and the beaches and walks in the area. Just perfect.

Lovely comfortable house in a great location.

Reluctant to share how wonderful Rosehill really is. The house is beautiful the location is fantastic and everything we could think to need was provided. Also special mention to the housekeeping team who very helpfully managed to locate and return a forgotten item. We can't wait to return.

I don’t really want to review Rosehill because I don’t want it to get too busy so we can’t stay there :-) however here goes. We loved the house, the garden is beautiful and the location is perfect - just on the outskirts of busy padstow and therefore so lovely and quiet. We have booked at the end of august for a week so I guess that says it all.
