Deep in the countryside and just a few miles from fabulous Padstow, this former Methodist chapel dating from 1830 is a perfect escape, whether you're a couple or a family with children. Step through the sky blue doors and you'll be transfixed by the stunning, airy space flecked by the jewel-coloured light from the stained glass windows. Open plan living makes the most of the vaulted ceilings, whilst carefully chosen furniture and fab kitchen compliment rather than clash with the original features.

Living and Eating

With one huge space filling the whole of the chapel, Seraphina is very much open plan. Walk through the doors and you’ll find yourself in a gorgeous porch with stylish lighting and beautiful original features such as the lovely wooden pew, perfect for tucking your wellies underneath after a bracing country walk.

Once through the porch you’ll find yourself in the breathtaking main living area. Directly in front of you is the huge kitchen island with granite work surface and in-built Smeg twin ovens, induction hob and boiling water tap – perfect for rustling up a feast. The kitchen lies to the right of the front door as you walk in and is fully equipped with everything you need including a jet black Smeg retro fridge freezer. In front of the island is a huge wooden dining table with comfy leather chairs and bench – perfect for a romantic meal for two or a bustling family dinner.

Leading on from this towards the back of the chapel are two gorgeous sofas and a massive flat screen TV – ideal for cosy nights in when all you want to do is curl up and watch a favourite film. Sky Q is available on every TV throughout Seraphina, an XBox and DVD player are also available for when you need to hunker down for the day. The overall feeling is lightness in this room – the light blues and whites match perfectly, and the finishing touches such as the beautiful wrought iron radiator, fab lighting and original features blend together perfectly to create a harmonious space.

Sleeping

A wrought iron spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine level where you’ll discover the gorgeous master bedroom with en suite. White painted floorboards lead to the gorgeous king sized bed with dove grey velvet headboard – so comfortable you’ll think your sleeping on clouds – whilst rising above you the impressive vaulted ceiling with exposed beams is home to another television – ideal for lazy mornings or late night films. The pièce de résistance is the fab freestanding bathtub for two which overlooks the chapel below.

A second bedroom lies downstairs to the back and is a perfect den for adults and little ones. A custom made double bed with bunk over are tucked away with an industrial style ladder leading to the upper bed. There’s a pretty original fireplace and stained glass windows, plus a television for favourite films.

Bathing

The master en suite is home to a loo and sink whilst you have of course the delicious bath tub for two. Downstairs there’s a shower room with huge walk in shower – perfect for washing the sand away after a day on the beach.

Outdoor Space

There’s a small enclosed courtyard to the side of Seraphina that overlooks the babbling stream that runs past the retreat. This is a perfect spot for a morning coffee and for watching the world go by.

WiFi

Seraphina has WiFi so if you need to get in touch with the outside world you can.

Seraphina will accept two well behaved dogs. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

Excellent place to stay for padstow and north coast. Secluded yet close enough to all we needed

Beautiful place and a lovely base for exploring Cornwall

The property has been converted at great expense and is fitted out really well.

It was perfect! as described and pictured on the website. We were allowed to check in early which was amazing given the terrible weather we were having that day! We were greeted with lovely welcome gifts on arrival. Overall perfect. Would recommend & stay again.

Brilliantly equipped very comfortable properly close to all the good stuff.

This was a lovely, unique accommodation with lots of nice finishing touches. The Wi-Fi was excellent which was important to my children and the home system with Sky a real bonus.

Delighted the moment we saw the building and even more so when we entered. Very well laid out and very comfortable. Everything you need and close to all the sites such as Padstow and Port Isaac, our favourites. The welcome basket and flowers was a lovely touch, just what we needed after a 9 hour journey. All in all absolutely fantastic and will 100% book to stay again. What a very special little place this is! Beautiful! xx

Stunning property in a great location with lots or restaurants, beaches and areas of beauty within easy reach. Finishes and facilities of the highest order and a lovely welcome basket provided upon arrival. I would 100% recommend this location to a couple looking for a quiet few days away to recharge and enjoy the delights of Cornwall.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated chapel. We felt completely at home and looked forward to returning to it after exploring during the day. Off the beaten track but within easy reach of Padstow and the numerous beaches in the area. The welcome hamper and doggy treats and blankets were greatly appreciated. Would love to return one day.

A fabulous conversion with every possible comfort and amazing original stained glass windows

Beautiful high spec property in a great location. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it. We would love to return and take our dog next time.

This beautiful building will exceed your dreams we didn't want to leave every single thing you would need or want is there

The chapel is beautifully renovated. Plenty of room for the two of us with two dogs and perfectly equipped. For a wet and windy winter weekend it provided us with a warm and cosy retreat that we would, without a doubt, recommend to anyone looking for a quiet location which is equally located centrally to all of the North Cornwall coast.

Beautiful converted Chapel in a quiet hamlet with easy access to north Cornish coast and Padstow. The owners are charming and their pride in the property will be visible to every guest.

A stunning place to stay in a fantastic location, 10/10!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ideally located within easy reach of Padstow but far enough away to not be affected by the crowds. Easy access to Trevone Head and Harlyn beach as well as others (all dog friendly). Friendly and helpful neighbours ( even after I parked in their spot!). Delightful accommodation with great TV/ entertainment. All round a great week in Cornwall in a very flexible and comfortable open plan chapel which catered for two small dogs brilliantly

Seraphina is just stunning in every way. The moment you step inside the luxurious vaulted ceilings and open space take your breath away The beautiful stained glass windows are spectacular.

The design is so well thought out and flows well giving comfort and space. The upstairs bedroom is gorgeous very spacious with a free standing bath to have a luxurious soak after days exploring.

We really didn’t want to leave and look forward to returning again in the near future.

We had the most wonderful, magical stay at Seraphina. The chapel is absolutely stunning and feels so luxurious. We have recommended it to so many friends.

What a lovely home for our week in Cornwall. Super comfy and exactly what we needed this year!

An excellent chill out location that ticks a long held wish to stay in a converted chapel - it didn't disappoint. The attention to detail was first rate and the appliances and all furnishings enhanced the experience.

The cottage completely exceeded our expectations. Although the images online are fantastic, we got the WOW factor once we walked through the door. It was a perfect base for a wonderful week away for us to get away from it all. Whilst we found it difficult to book restaurants to eat out of an evening, this did not bother us as it just meant we could spend even more time back & 'home' at the cottage. After a lovely day in Cornwall, we looked forward to getting back and chilling for the rest of the evening.

Beautifully restored chapel. Luxurious, stylish and practical. Great bolt hole, Near all the best bits of North Cornwall but just out of the tourist throng, to avoid the hustle. Definitely recommend.
