For timeless adventures, wander down to the beach with a hamper full of artisan treats and bask in the serenity of sheltered Port Quin. Or, drift just over a mile to the west to find the twin villages of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne, where Michelin star restaurants, characterful pubs, and local treasures await.
Living
Seek the curated corners of Zephyr's living spaces for slow mornings and cosy evenings in Boutique style. Thoughtfully designed by Nicola O'Mara, the heavenly living area takes inspiration from the ocean hues beyond the window, bathed in nautical tones and a calming palette. Exuding an irresistible ambience, a wood burning stove framed by a herringbone fireplace creates a striking focal point for a collection of Soho Home chairs and a handcrafted sofa. Immerse in the quiet luxury of fireside moments with a novel in hand or settle into one of the two Gustavian armchairs in grey velvet and ceruse oak with a glass of vintage red. Vying for attention with the coastal vistas, a Smart TV and Sonos speakers provide further entertainment.
Particularly beautiful for sunrise lattes and golden hour gathering, Zephyr's sunroom is a charming space awash with natural light. Take a seat in one of the OKA armchairs in handwoven dhurrie print or rattan dining chairs, welcoming the sea air drift in through open patio doors on balmy days.
Eating and dining
Head into the kitchen of Zephyr to find an inviting space, where soft hues complement clean lines and earthy touches. With a mixture of open shelves and integrated accoutrements, everything you need for crafting feasts has been tastefully considered, such as an induction hob, combi built-in microwave, and Nespresso coffee machine. Creating a dream of all life's moments is a wood-panelled utility room in seashell shades, while a choice of dining areas beckons for pared-back breakfasts and candlelit suppers.
Adjoining the open-plan living area, an oval dining table seats six with upholstered chairs, lit by statement Pooky cane lampshades. Meanwhile, in the sunroom, a bistro table for two offers the perfect spot for panoramas and aperitifs.
Sleeping and bathing
Zephyr promises three equally stunning bedrooms and two bathrooms.
A blissful space for heavenly repose, the master bedroom takes pride of place overlooking the picturesque cove of Port Quin and glittering sea beyond. Taking centre stage, a super king bed is dressed in the finest linens and can be transformed into two singles upon request. Awake each morning and watch the tides from the comfort of bed, or settle into the window-side armchair with a handwoven pouffe for lingering moments over a flat white.
The second bedroom is a picture of perfection with a dual aspect over the luscious garden and seascape. Topped with the softest pillows and throws, a zip-and-link super king bed can be made into two singles and offers uninterrupted views to savour at the start and end of each day. For utmost comfort, an ensuite bathroom can be found, complete with a walk-in shower. Completing the picture is a dreamy third bedroom, furnished with a king bed and cosy armchair to rest and reset throughout the day.
Zephyr features two bathrooms for mindful self-care moments. The first bathroom, located on the first floor, features a bath with a rainfall shower overhead, while the second, residing on the ground floor, features a refreshing shower. Both promise heated towel rails for the fluffiest towels.
Outdoor space
Stepping outside, a selection of serene outdoor spaces reside for only the dreamiest alfresco moments, from morning light to golden hour and beyond. For oceanside dining, an outdoor table and chairs provide seating for six, served by a Big Green Egg barbecue for chargrilled banquets overlooking rolling tides. Festoon-lit evenings await in the outdoor sofa space, where a warming chiminea promises cosy gatherings beneath the stars, as the lilac hues of dusk give way to night. In the Area
Set above the glistening water of Port Quin, Zephyr offers an unrivalled base from which to savour halcyon days of coastal luxury. For those looking to explore, the South West Coast Path meanders a short way from the doorstep, luring for rhythmic strolls with one shoulder to the coast and one to rolling countryside swathes. Meanwhile, directly from the shore of Port Quin, swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking can be enjoyed at leisure on balmy days. A little off the beaten track, nearby Epphaven Cove is a beautiful beach loved for its wild seclusion, while elsewhere, the golden sands of Polzeath and Daymer Bay propose timeless coastal charm and an array of places to eat and drink.
A short drive to the south, the traditional fishing village of Rock is beloved for its glistening waterfront, independent bistros and boutiques, and ferry links to neighbouring Padstow. To the north, the villages of Port Isaac (renowned as the setting of Doc Martin) and Port Gaverne are magnetic destinations for leisurely sojourns. Wander the salt-bleached streets and take an exhilarating boat trip from Port Isaac's harbour to admire the coast from a new perspective. For a taste of culinary excellence, visit Outlaw's Michelin Star New Road and Fish Kitchen in Port Isaac, or the Michelin recommended Mariners Four Boys and Mariners in Rock. Equally as tempting are Port Gaverne's welcoming pub and Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant in Padstow.
