Set in the blissfully beautiful Portmellon Cove near the seaside town of Mevagissey and nestled right on the waterfront, this little darling (pronounced 'an dygee' and meaning small cottage in Cornish) is simply divine and perfect for both couples and single travellers alike.
Step inside and you'll find a shipshape home, with a jaunty wink to its coastal heritage reflected in its décor. Small but perfectly formed, this is an idyllic getaway perfect for short breaks or longer getaways, with everything on hand just a short stroll away.
Portmellon Cove is on the south Cornish coast and so An Dyji is perfectly positioned to explore this beautiful stretch of coastline, from Fowey to the east to Portscatho on the Roseland Peninsula on the west, whilst Mevagissey is just a 10-15 minute walk away.
Living and eating
Located upstairs to make the most of the extraordinary views, the gorgeous living space with exposed stone walls, decorative feature fireplace, wooden flooring and underfloor heating is a beautiful and cosy space. A welcoming pale blue sofa is just perfect for cuddling up on (or stretching out on!), whilst an old chest makes a perfect coffee table. A HD TV is available for evenings in, whilst a SONOS sound system means you can make a memorable soundtrack to your stay.
To the back of the room lies the ever so clever kitchen - don't let its diminutiveness deceive you - it's home to everything you might need during your stay, from the Siemens hob and cooker with built-in microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, Smeg accessories and kettle tap. For dining, we just love the little breakfast bar and stools, whilst there's a dining table and chairs for alfresco eating too.
Sleeping
Set on the ground floor, the super-cute bedroom is simply perfect for retiring to at the end of a day out exploring. A lovely double bed with Hypnos mattress, White Company Egyptian cotton linen and the softest of bedding awaits to whisk you off to the land of nod, whilst we just adore the lobster cushions! In addition, there's a hanging rail, chest of drawers, under bed storage and a SONOS sound system. Both the window and stable doors look over the sea.
Bathing
The en suite shower room comes complete with a walk-in shower with rainfall head and heated towel rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
With its own tiny terrace overlooking the cove and sea, this is the perfect spot for a table and chairs with the prettiest setting; enjoy meals alfresco, whether it's watching the boats tootle to and fro over breakfast or watching the sun set over the water.
Parking
You can pull up alongside the cottages to drop off/pick up and parking is easy to find in the pub car park (less than 100 yards away and about £25 for a weekly ticket) or alternatively there is usually plenty of on road parking.

Dogs
One medium-sized dog is welcome at An Dyji. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
WiFi
An Dyji has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world, you can.
In the Area
You've plenty to do right on your doorstep at An Dyji! Portmellon Cove is a delightfully sleepy spot but it's just a short 10 - 15-minute walk to the historical harbour of the 14th century working fishing village of Mevagissey, so you'll have the best of both worlds! Portmellon has its own great pub The Sun, just 100 yards away, plus a little coffee bar. Alternatively, head amongst the hustle and bustle of Mevagissey and you'll find lots of great places to eat and drink which showcase the best in local produce. Whilst you're here try your hand at crabbing, take a deep-sea fishing trip, take a few Stand-Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) lessons and you'll feel like a local in no time! You're also right on the South West Coastal Path for extraordinary coastal walks, whether on a glorious summer's day or for a brisk wintery stroll.
Pop in the car and explore the pretty south coast where you will discover many hidden beaches from Gorran Haven, Perhaver, Caerhays at the Castle to Pentewan sands and more; there's Fowey just up the coast a little - the hometown of Daphne De Maurier. Head west and you can explore the lovely Roseland Peninsula, St Mawes, Porthscatho, Falmouth, the Lizard and on towards Mousehole and the Minack Theatre. The north coast is about 50 minutes away where you can explore Padstow, the Camel Estuary and the gorgeous coastline around St Agnes, made famous again by BBC's Poldark.
Additionally, just a short drive away are the world-renowned Lost Gardens of Heligan (five minutes) The Eden Project (twenty minutes) and Charlestown (which doubled as Truro in Poldark) about fifteen minutes away.
