Living
The Miller's House has underfloor heating throughout making it toasty warm at all times. The slate-floored entrance hall is lined with oak benches so you can kick off your shoes, drop the beach bags and head into the sitting-room to relax on the slouchy corner sofa in front of the big TV or snuggle in front of the roaring log fire.
Eating
Huge glass doors lead out onto the terrace which directly overlooks the creek that comes up to Froe's private quay. There are glorious water views on both sides of the kitchen whilst the terrace and bespoke slate outdoor dining table is a magical place to sit in the evening with a glass of fizz, watching the sun go down over the creek. The huge light-filled kitchen has sleek white units, a top-of-the-range steam oven and a big island unit. Two vintage leather armchairs flank the wood burner so be first to call dibs on these at the end of dinner. Big pendant lights reclaimed from the Rover car factory hang low over the oak Conran refectory table and Eames chairs. French doors look out over the mill pool where the resident swans glide effortlessly over the water.
Sleeping
There are three en suite double bedrooms in The Miller's House at Froe. The master bedroom is stunning, it has a vaulted ceiling, a dressing area and a bathroom with a claw foot bath and walk in shower. The second double bedroom has beautiful views over the garden and mill pool and a bathroom with slate basins and a slate sided bath. The third double bedroom is cosy and snug and has an en suite shower room. Wonderfully comfortable beds, crisp white linens and goose down duvets will have you sleeping like a baby from the moment your head touches the pillow.

Garden
The Miller's House has wide slate terraces on two sides overlooking the creek and mill pool with lawns below leading down to planted borders and the water's edge. You can arrive by boat (by prior arrangement and at additional cost) at high tide - there is 600ft of private river frontage and a private pontoon - and swim, canoe or kayak in the mill pool. The Coach House has its own courtyard with slate chip pathways, abundantly planted borders and a sitting area overlooking the creek, with a doorway through an old stone wall into the gardens surrounding The Miller's House. There is a pathway through the adjacent woods which belong to Froe and across the fields to Towan beach, a lovely National Trust stretch of sand that is often deserted so you play pirates and shipwrecks to your heart's content. In order to keep the garden looking at its very best, the gardener requires access to the grounds once a week.
Please note that The Coach House and the small white building nearest the water's edge are unoccupied during guests' stay, The Miller's House and grounds are completely private to you during your holiday.

In the Area
The house is perfectly placed to explore nearby Portscatho, St Mawes, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Portloe and Charlestown. The Watch House restaurant is in beautiful St Mawes overlooking the inner harbour with views out towards St Anthonys Head and offers fabulous menus in a great location. Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes overlooks the water and has a superb reputation (owned by Olga Pollizi, the renowned hotelier and daughter of the late hotel magnate Lord Forte). This is a fantastic place to eat, whether it's lunch, a cream tea or a wonderful evening meal. Driftwood is a fabulous boutique beach house hotel (again with amazing sea views) just outside Portscatho, with a Cornish-bred Michelin starred chef, Chris Eden. The Rosevine is also near Portscatho, a New England-inspired get-away with a laid back feel. Wonderful location and wonderful food.
