Walk through this beautiful family home and any worries and cares you may have will easily slip away, leaving you peaceful and calm - a truly magical place. With tranquil gardens to call your own and a plethora of places to visit on your doorstep, this is a wonderful retreat for families or a group of friends, and an amazing setting for a special celebration - we can imagine Christmas would be truly spectacular here! Lemail is just a short drive from the Camel Estuary, the fabulous seaside towns of Padstow and Port Isaac, iconic Rock and the surfer's paradise that is Polzeath, whilst inland Bodmin Moor is great for wild walking adventures, and The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are a must.

Larger parties

Close to Lemail you will find Rosmelin which sleeps 6, ideal for larger parties when booked together, whilst offering perfect privacy when the retreats are booked separately. You can view Rosmelin here or call us for more information.

Living

The spacious, traditionally styled sitting room is just a dream, in warm colours of oat and tempered reds. Three plump sofas nestle around the open fire, the perfect setting for chillier days, whilst the windows can be opened wide on hot summer days to let the soft flower-scented breeze flow through. In addition, there's a Smart TV with Sky, Netflix and Freeview for film nights or for catching up on that must-watch series. This is a wonderful space for coming together, whether its opening presents on Christmas morning or supping a post-dinner drink - bliss!

Eating

Whether you're planning on cooking yourself or getting someone else to do it, the large farmhouse kitchen is simply divine and stacked with everything needed for culinary delights. In shades of blue with wooden worktops and central island for prepping, there's a large Everhot oven complete with three ovens, hot plate and induction hob to make cooking easy, whilst there's also a built-in dishwasher, fridge, microwave, and all the other essentials including a Nespresso coffee machine and a SONOS for tunes to accompany you as you cook. There's also a wood burner with an armchair, so the cook's companion can sit in comfort.

In the utility room is an additional American style fridge freezer, secondary dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. A loo can be found here too.

You'll discover the dining room next door, complete with impressive table which seats ten comfortably, drinks trolley, flickering wood burner and huge window overlooking the garden - the perfect setting for celebratory meals, be it Christmas, a birthday or simply to savour time well spent together.

The owners of Lemail know a wonderful private chef that's available to hire, so whether you've a celebration planned or simply want someone else to cook, please do get in touch and we can arrange this for you. They can also provide luxurious meal boxes.

Sleeping and bathing

There are four delightful bedrooms to choose from.

The en suite master bedroom, with touches of jewel-rich blues and red, is spacious and calming, boasting a super king-sized bed, original feature fireplace, two occasional chairs, a chest of drawers and a window seat with window overlooking the garden. The en suite is a shower room with large walk-in shower, heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy, plus a pretty window seat.

Bedrooms two and three have zip and link beds, meaning they can be made into twin beds or kept as super king-sized beds for flexible sleeping arrangements. Both have a chest of drawers, occasional chairs, a feature fireplace, and views over the garden. One of these has an en suite shower room.

The fourth bedroom is oh-so-charming home to three-foot bunk beds, a gorgeous arch window with window seat and a large chest of drawers.

In addition, there's a family bathroom with bath for sumptuous long soaks.

Outdoor space

The plentiful gardens await to be explored; immediately outside the house there's a gorgeous walled garden, resplendent with mature herbaceous borders, plus a dining table and chairs and a Weber charcoal barbeque for alfresco meals. In addition, you'll find benches throughout to spend a quiet moment in the beautiful surroundings, and shady spots for a picnic or afternoon snooze. We just love the wild fields beyond, with carefully mown lawned paths to explore.

Parking

There is plenty of private, off-road parking.

Babies and children

Babies and children are most welcome. Two highchairs and one travel cot are provided.

Dogs

Up to two, well-behaved dogs are very welcome at Lemail. We charge £35 per dog per week or short break. Lemail boasts an enclosed garden and kennels to the side of the property - perfect for your four-legged friends!

In the Area

Lemail sits in a perfect position close to the Camel Estuary and nearby Wadebridge. There's a huge number of amazing things to do in the area to keep you entertained. For surf and sea lovers, the north Cornish coastline is lined with awe-inspiring beaches, but those at Polzeath, Daymer Bay, Rock and Harlyn Bay are particularly good, whilst Padstow has seven sandy beaches within a short distance of each other. Cyclists and walkers alike will love the Camel Trail, which runs from Wadebridge to Padstow and enjoys spectacular views. Golfers are spoilt with the likes of St Enodoc, Trevose and St Kew being a short drive away - and with vistas to die for! History and culture lovers can enjoy the impressive gardens and houses that dot the area, such as Pencarrow House and Lanhydrock, whilst The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are well worth the slightly longer drive. Foodies will adore the huge selection of eateries in the area to choose from, with St Kew Inn (the owner's favourite) just five minutes up the road. In addition, there's Paul Ainsworth's pub Mariners in Rock, Paul Ainsworth and Rick Stein in Padstow, and Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac. There are also some lovely farm shops to explore such as St Kew Farm Shop, just five minutes' away, whilst Hawksfield with its amazing café and shops set on the way to Newquay is well worth a visit.

We've fallen in love with this Cornish country idyll, a big and beautiful home that's just perfect for larger parties, set close to the hotspots of the north coast of Cornwall but tucked away enough to be a peaceful retreat.
