3 Bedrooms (Sleeps 6 + cot)
Carn Cottage is a pretty traditional Cornish stone cottage in St Agnes on the north Cornish coast. With a substantial garden, this beautiful home stay has been lovingly updated yet remains sympathetic to its original features, from the exposed wooden floors to the beamed ceilings. Its romantic touches - from the charming bathtub for two to the heavenly beds - makes it ideal for couples, whilst lots of space, twin bedroom and large dining room is great for families too.
St Agnes is a wonderful village, and from Carn Cottage it's a short walk to its heart, where you'll find a plethora of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. It's also a stroll to Trevaunance Cove, a fabulous sandy beach that's dog friendly all year around.
Living
The snug sitting room comes complete with two super-sumptuous sofas, a marble coffee table, a cosy wood burning stove, television and DVD player and a cute window seat with views out over the garden. A lovely spot in which to relax in at the end of the day. The simple, clean tones of grey and white contrast nicely with the super-cool artwork with a beachy theme, making this a peaceful, laid-back pad - the ideal spot for re-charging drained batteries.
Eating
The kitchen is a bright, light space filled with everything you need to rustle up meals, whether it's a quick snack or a feast. There's all you would expect plus a dishwasher, washer dryer, Nespresso machine, food processor and blender. A handy breakfast bar seats up to three people - perfect for meals on the go.
The formal dining room is just lovely with a table and beautiful grey velvet chairs. We love the original features and the calm grey colour scheme - the perfect setting for late-night dinner parties or long luncheons.
Sleeping
There are three gorgeous bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom has a lovely bed knobs-and-broomsticks type king size bed, perfect for long, luxurious lie-ins. In addition, there's a further double with a dreamy grey velvet headboard, plus a twin room with two single beds. Each bedroom boasts Egyptian cotton sheets, hypo allergenic 'soft as down' bedding and sumptuous throws and pillows.
Bathing
Just wow! We adore the oh-so-romantic bathroom with a bathtub for two - the ultimate spot for deep soaks with your favourite book - or that special someone! In addition, there's a shower room whilst downstairs there's another loo. Each has a heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
There's a lovely enclosed garden, surrounded by trees and impressive rock formations, perfect for lazy days in summer when you just want to stay at home and relax. Bask in the warmth of the wood-fired hot tub, a heavenly addition for post sundown dips. To make things extra comfy, there's an L-shaped sofa, table, benches, stools and chiminea whilst the barbeque and pizza oven makes outdoor meals a joy. In addition, there's a fantastic breeze house with heaters and lights, plus a tree house which little ones will just love!
Parking
There is plenty of private off-road parking for three cars.

A stairgate, highchair, travel cot and changing mat can be provided on request.

Up to two dogs are very welcome at Carn Cottage. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

In the Area
St Agnes is a gorgeous small town, surprisingly un-touristy and full of fabulous places to eat and drink. For meals, head to Genki, the Tap House, Taste or Schooners for exceptional quality meals. The Sorting Office is a brilliant stop for exceptional coffee and lip-smackingly good cakes, whilst The Cornish Pizza Co do lovely take-away pizzas. There's also an excellent choice of pubs too, from the Driftwood Spars to The Tap House - both which offer great live music too. Just down the road is the fantastic Miner's Arms in Mithian - well worth a visit - whilst Canteen Cornwall's alfresco dinners are a must (check out their Facebook page for dates and times). If you like to cook at home, there's two butchers, a fishmonger, a greengrocer and a deli or two, plus the fabulous St Agnes Bakery which you need to visit.
Trevaunance Cove is a great beach and within walking distance of Carn Cottage, whilst the incredible Chapel Porth beach with its caves, old mines (as featured in the BBC adaptation of Poldark) and huge sandy beach at low tide is just a short drive away.
Being handily located on the North Cornish coast, you're also within easy reach of lots of fab places to visit, such as Godrevy with its immense beach and dunes, St Ives and the far West of Cornwall, Holywell Bay and across to the south coast and Falmouth, the Roseland Peninsula and Truro.
