Whisk you and your loved one off to this perfect little retreat for two. Nestled in the countryside in the grounds of the owner's home close to pretty St Agnes, this is a getaway where you'll be surrounded by nature - an idyllic retreat where your worries will slide away as you walk through the door. Calming, simple interiors await you at The Artist Studio; a gorgeous home stay for those seeking solitude.

Living and eating

The lovely open-plan living area is a light, airy space open to the vaulted roof above - made perfect for relaxing in front of the wood burner. The pretty lounge area comes complete with a sofa made for two (perfect for cuddling up on) and an additional seat for curling up on with a good book. We love the nautical-style cushions, whilst the widescreen television is on hand for those all-important nights when you want to catch up with your favourite box sets.

The kitchen is super-cute but chock-full of everything you would need to create a feast, including a Nespresso coffee maker - a must for mornings - and a large dining table for a romantic dinner or a lazy Sunday breakfast.

Sleeping

Sleeping will come easy to you in this pretty, tranquil en suite bedroom, and with six large windows (four of them floor to ceiling) offer incredible countryside views - perfect for lazy lie-ins where you can sit and watch the wildlife go by. The sumptuous king sized bed, draped with gorgeous White Company linens, will help you drift off to sleep and bird call will gently wake you in the morning.

Bathing

The en suite shower room has a large walk-in rainfall shower - perfect for those wake-me-up mornings or for warming yourself up after a long cliff top walk. Bliss!

Outside Space

Outside you'll find a decking area complete with deckchairs and a table and chairs, a fire pit, and a gas barbecue - perfect for a spot of al fresco dining. A lawn gives extra space and there are lovely views across to the viaduct. If you're feeling adventurous, follow the woodland path all the way into St Agnes! A fence surrounds the perimeter of The Artist Studio, to keep any canine companions enclosed when exploring the outside space.

The Artist Studio has WiFi throughout, so if you need to stay in contact with the outside world you can.

A babe in arms is welcome at The Artist Studio - a travel cot and high chair are provided.

There is private parking for one car at The Artist Studio, a short walk away from the property, plus a chargable electric car charging point.

In the Area

Lucky you - there's plenty to do in this lovely part of Cornwall. On your doorstep are footpaths that lead you directly to the coast. In Mithian, there's a great pub called the Miners arms, serving traditional wholesome food.

St Agnes has lots of great places to eat such as Schooners, Taste, Driftwood and The Taphouse. You can also pick up lots of goodies at the various delis, butchers, a bakery and lots of other independent shops. The beaches are great too, plus there's easy access on to the South West Coastal Path for great walks.

Just a short drive away is St Ives, famed for its beaches, shops and Tate. The beaches on the north coast up towards Newquay are great if you enjoy surfing, whilst head to the south coast to Falmouth - a great coastal town with the Maritime Museum - and the gorgeous Roseland Peninsula.

This bijou country bolthole in north Cornwall is just perfect for those wanting to hide away from the world - a peaceful escape to feed your soul.

The Artist Studio was just perfect, location was so peaceful and quiet and the interior/comfort of the lodge was 10/10 - no expense has been spared to ensure it felt welcoming and homely. We had a lovely assortment of treats when we arrived which was a lovely touch. We particularly enjoyed the company of the owners cats and dogs, who visited our front door frequently.

An excellent retreat in a great location for exploring western Cornwall

We had an absolutely fantastic time at The Artist Studio. We found it to be such a lovely little place to stay and we enjoyed walking to and from the coast, and along the South West Coast Path. The accommodation itself was just beautiful and filled with everything we could have possibly needed. Jane was incredibly welcoming and could not have been more accommodating. All in all we had a really excellent holiday and only wish we could have stayed forever!

We had a wonderful time at the Artist Studio. The place was very comfortable and well appointed. We were made to feel very welcome and the scones and clotted cream and bottle is wine left for us was super! The location was very good for visiting so many attractions in Cornwall. We loved our stay at the Artist's Studio! The accommodation was beautifully furnished, incredibly comfortable and very well equipped. The cream tea and essentials waiting for us on arrival was a lovely welcome. We enjoyed many local walks, particularly the walk from the accommodation through the woods to the coast - a really peaceful 30 minute stroll. Food at the Peterville Inn in St Agnes was great and there a several little shops in the village to browse. Overall, this is a super place to stay in a peaceful location with plenty to do in the local area should you choose to venture out.

We had a lovely stay, the Artist Studio is in a beautiful quiet setting. It was perfectly clean with everything you could possibly need provided. We enjoyed being in the studio which is so light and airy as much as exploring the wonderful surroundings. We were amazed at how many lovely places were within easy reach. Quite simply the artist studio is a hidden gem made to let you feel just at home, whilst surrounded by a beautiful countryside and landscape. The host had ensured there were necessary guest facilities and gone above and beyond with equipping the studio. Would definitely be heading back here again.

All of the above in the comments section. We took a scenic flight around Cornwall from Perranporth airfield, with a company called Wingly and we would thoroughly recommend that as something to do. It was wonderful seeing Cornwall from the air!

A peaceful countryside retreat in a truly stunning location.

Our stay at the Artists Studio was fantastic. The location was perfect, the studio itself had everything you needed and the wood burner just made it all so cosy! Jane was a super host and made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some recommendations on places to visit, eat etc. We had a little visitor every morning and evening who loved cuddles… a beautiful cat- we nicknamed her Marbles (we know this is highly unlikely it was her real name- but she looked like marble cake!). Thank you so much, we can’t wait to return!

It was immaculate and the cleanest property we have ever stayed in.

The hosts Jane and Matt couldn’t have done anymore for us, they were friendly, helpful and very understanding of our puppy Bertie who loved to go and play in their gorgeous garden.

A great place to explore other areas further down in Cornwall or spend time in the beautiful garden enjoying the peace and quiet.

A beautiful, artistic and immaculately presented studio in a great location. The retreat is very secluded with a beautiful woodland walk adjacent to the property taking you right down to the beach. Well located for lots of local bars and restaurants although the fully equipped kitchen is also great for preparing meals at home. Very friendly hosts on hand to help with anything you need. The wine, scones, jam and cream were much appreciated after a long journey. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Lovely retreat, beautiful location, perfect for our minimoon.

The studio is spacious, light and airy and very tastfully equipped. All the appliances are high-end (Bosch). The location is rural, with bats and owls very noticeable at dusk. Guests need to be fully mobile as there is a 100-yard walk with half a dozen steps between where a car has to be left, and the Studio. All luggage has to be transported along this route.
