We're delighted to welcome you to this fabulous home stay, our first in the postcard-perfect village of St Mawes in South Cornwall. With idyllic views of yachts and boats sailing across the sea, this wonderful coastal home is a light, bright and very beautiful retreat for eight people. With calming, chic open-plan living areas and stunning, luxurious bedrooms, this property takes an upside-down approach meaning the majority of the bedrooms are downstairs whilst the kitchen, dining room, sitting room and master bedroom are located on the first floor to make the most of the scenery. Outside, there's a lovely tiered garden, perfect for sunny days, whilst it's just a short sea front walk to lots of fabulous places to eat and drink. Perfect for families or friends, it's also ideal for couples seeking a little more space in their seaside retreat.
Living and eating
The main living space is on the first floor to make the most of the sea views and access to the outside terraces. It benefits from being open plan, creating a large, airy space perfect for gatherings and entertaining. With wooden floors under foot, soft white walls and a gentle nod to the sea with eye-catching lighting and artwork, this is a laid back yet super-stylish room.
To the front lies the sitting room with gorgeous views out to sea and over towards St Anthony's Head. In this peaceful spot, you'll find a snug wood burner, expansive navy-blue sofa to sprawl on, two picturesque window seats from which to gaze out of and a television for when the view fades into night.
To the back lies the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen with central work top has everything you need to rustle up feasts, with a Miele oven, microwave, induction hob and all the other essentials hidden behind gorgeously sleek cupboards. There's also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the downstairs utility room.
There is a large dining table which easily seats eight - here, you can enjoy leisurely breakfasts, late lunches and sumptuous dinners - maybe sampling fresh fish picked up from the quay.
Sleeping and bathing
There are four gorgeous bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom on the first floor has a super-comfy king bed, wonderful sea views and the eye-catching original fireplace as well as plenty of storage, plus an en-suite shower room. There is also an additional loo on the first floor.
All the other bedrooms, plus the family bathroom, can be found on the ground floor. There's a king size double room with a garden view and wooden bed, a super king bedroom with zip-and-link beds which means it can either be left as a super king or made into twins, plus a fabulous bunk bedroom perfect for little ones. The family bathroom has a bath with shower overhead.
Each bedroom is beautifully and individually decorated, and beds are swathed in luxurious linens and beddings. Both the shower room and family bathroom have heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
Take the back door out of the kitchen into the garden and you'll find your own little piece of heaven. On the terrace, you'll find a fabulous outside corner sofa, perfectly positioned to overlook the breath-taking sea views, a dining table for alfresco meals, a parasol and an area for barbeques. There are quiet hidden-away corners to find too - look out for the hammock and tucked-away stone table and bench. A blissful outside escape!
Parking
There is parking for one car directly outside the property. Additional parking can be found in the main car park in the centre of town or at the smaller car park near St Mawes castle.

In the Area
Nestled on the incredibly beautiful Roseland Peninsula, across the waters from Falmouth, St Mawes is a wonderful village on the south Cornish coast. Within a short walk from Milton Minor, you'll find some famously fab restaurants, such as the Trensanton and the Idles Rocks, whilst there's a plethora of excellent pubs too. If you want to get out and about, leave the car at home and hop on the ferry to bustling Falmouth, a lively town with great shops, excellent restaurants, the Maritime Museum and three wonderful beaches. Pop in the car and take the King Harry Ferry over to Trelissick, a pretty National Trust property and garden with stunning water views and lovely woodland walks. Head East along the Roseland Peninsula from Portscatho to Portloe, with beautiful coastline and great beaches too. If time allows, dash over to the North coast and explore characterful St Agnes.
