On balmy days, seek the invitation of the sun-warmed terraces that run the length of the building, or head further afield to uncover Dorset's plethora of attractions nearby. From the regal splendour of Mapperton and the natural artistry of the Golden Cap to the delicious bistros of Lyme Regis and Bridport, enchantment awaits.

Living

Backdropped by soothing tones and captivating rural vistas, the open-plan living space of Lumen beckons for utmost comfort. Relax into the sumptuous Minotti L-shaped sofa or vintage mid-century armchairs and bask in the panoramas framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. For a soothing atmosphere, a wood burning stove casts an amber glow in the cooler months, while natural light and the blush of a Foscarini floor light add charming ambience. When the sun dips and the views fade under dusky hues, a Smart TV with soundbar provides additional entertainment.

For those moments lost in page or film, a mezzanine floor features a cosy sofa, beanbag, Smart TV, and a large selection of books. Recline on the sofa or roll out a yoga mat and make use of the space for serene vinyasa flows.

Eating and dining

In a stunning open-plan design, the beautiful kitchen and dining areas enjoy a seamless flow and promise a curated space in which to gather and dine. Craft delicious feasts in the well-appointed kitchen, where bespoke cabinetry in Farrow & Ball Railings provides generous room for culinary preparation, complemented by a Rangemaster double oven, American-style fridge freezer, dishwasher, and Qettle boiling tap. For morning blends, a Sage Barista Express coffee machine awaits, while for those glasses of something special, a Caple wine fridge cools vintage favourites.

Illuminated by handwoven willow hanging lamps, the grand dining table for eight proposes a fabulous place to dine for mid-morning pastries and sunlit suppers. Gather over delectable dishes served with artisan Dorset produce, or head outside to the terrace for alfresco repasts.

Sleeping and bathing

Lumen features three welcoming bedrooms, two of which are ensuite, and two additional bathrooms.

Seek serene slumber in the master bedroom, where calming tones adorn the space and sumptuous furnishings invite restful repose. At the centre, a super king bed swathed in the finest linens tempts for lingering lie-ins and enjoys dappled views across the garden. A Turkish vintage rug cushions underfoot, while two vintage bedside tables and a fitted wardrobe promise plenty of space to stow treasures. A B&B Italia armchair and Smart TV offer further moments of contentment, while an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower ensures utmost luxury and privacy.

A welcoming space in soothing shades, the second bedroom features a Soho Home king size rattan bed draped in the softest cushions and throws from which to gaze over uninterrupted countryside views. For convenience, this bedroom also enjoys use of its own separate bathroom with a shower and heated towel rail. Meanwhile, a pretty third bedroom enjoys a king size bed, vintage furnishings, and bespoke cabinetry, complemented by an ensuite bathroom with a shower for refreshing self-care rituals.

An additional WC can be found downstairs next to the front door.
