In the Area
Located in the eastern part of the Cotswolds, Lower Oddington is a hamlet of golden limestone cottages, one of the more hidden away spots compared to its more well-known neighbours. It's also home to The Fox, a fabulous inn and restaurant that's just a short walk from the retreat. The unmissable Daylesford Farm is within walking distance too through beautiful Cotswolds countryside and is a must-visit for excellent local produce. The chocolate-box pretty villages of Stow-on-the-Wold with its huge market square and great shops is a few minutes' drive away, whilst Bourton-on-the-Water (known as 'the Venice of the Cotswolds') boasts plenty to do such as Birdland Park and Gardens, the fascinating Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum and Cotswold Perfumery. Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park (of BBC Countryfile fame) is a firm family favourite whilst further afield you'll find the Cotswold Wildlife Park and gardens and the pretty villages of Burford and Moreton-in-Marsh. Larger places such as the gorgeous Roman town of Cirencester and Regency Cheltenham Spa are well worth exploring. Other places of note include the impressive Snowshill Manor, Sudeley Castle, Broadway Tower, Blenheim Palace, Chedworth Roman Villa, Chastleton House and The Rollright Stones.
