As soon as you drive along the one-mile approach to Longbourn, tucked away in the beautiful Test Valley, thoughts of everyday life fade away and when the vista opens to reveal the gorgeous red brick, early-18th century house, you'll not fail to fall in love.
Sweep up to the entrance and step through the front door and you will be met by a gorgeously furnished, warm and welcoming home, where style and luxury has been paired seamlessly with comfort and calm. Five exquisite bedrooms await, whilst the spacious living areas makes this retreat perfect for larger soirees. Outside, there's a stunning garden complete with swimming pool, tennis court and pool house.
Whether it's curling up with your favourite book or movie in front of the fire in the snug or sharing cocktails on the terrace on a warm Hampshire evening, there is something for everyone at Longbourn. Set on a 200-acre farm of grassland and woods, and being nestled in the Test Valley, you're ideally situated to explore this unspoilt part of England, just over two hours from London.
Setting
In close proximity to Longbourn you will find Meriton, set ideally nearby one another to cater for larger parties when booked together, whilst offering perfect privacy when the retreats are booked separately. Living and eating
On entering Longbourn, you'll be met by a large entrance hall with open fire - a beautifully cosy welcome!
Steps lead down to the open-plan kitchen complete with a charming sitting area with wood burner - the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks - plus a Smart TV. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with everything a keen cook might need, including an Aga (lit between October and April), electric oven, four-ring induction hob, built in fridge freezer, butler sink with Quooker hot water tap, two dishwashers, larder and the all-important Nespresso coffee machine. The large central island offers plenty of space for prepping, whist two chairs at the end means the cook can have company too!
Next door lies a bright conservatory with large dinner table that seats twelve - the perfect setting for celebratory meals and dinner parties.
Leading off from the kitchen is the formal sitting room, bedecked with three sumptuous sofas and a crackling open fire is the perfect, grown-up space to come together, whether it's for post-dinner chats, opening presents on Christmas day or simply to bask in the peaceful ambience. Doors lead out into the garden, offering a delightful breeze on a hot summers' day, whilst a Smart TV is on hand to entertain should you need it.
Should you be seeking a quiet spot, or if little ones want a room of their own, there's a fabulous snug with Smart TV (with Virgin TV and Sky Sports), huge L-shaped blue sofa and an open fire. And should you need to make your stay a workcation, there's a study too complete with a desk and large screen to connect laptops to, whilst two leather armchairs offer a peaceful spot for reading the Sunday papers.
Finally, there's a utility room leading off from the kitchen with a washing machine and separate tumble dryer, and a boot room with plenty of hooks and boot storage - plus room for a wet dog!
Sleeping and bathing
There are five stunning bedrooms to choose from, all located on the first floor.
The master bedroom is simply beautiful with a semi-vaulted ceiling, dual-aspect windows and a sumptuous super king-sized bed, just made for long lies ins. In addition, there's a walk-through dressing room and ensuite bathroom with bath, shower and two sinks.
The second bedroom also has a comfy super king-sized bed and comes complete with an ensuite bath with overhead shower.
The third and fourth bedrooms both have zip and link beds, meaning they can be made up as super king sized beds or twin beds for flexible sleeping arrangements - these rooms have access to the family shower room that lies across the landing.
The fifth bedroom - in blues and pinks - is just perfect for little ones and has three single beds plus a trestle bed should you need it. This room has an ensuite bathroom with overhead shower.
All the beds come swathed in luxurious linens, soft bedding and sumptuous pillows and throws to ensure a blissful nights' sleep. There are heated rails in all bathrooms to keep towels warm and fluffy.
In addition, there are two loos on the ground floor.
Outdoor space
Step into the garden and you'll discover a blissful space in which to relax, complete with a heated outdoor swimming pool (available between April and September), pool house and hard-court tennis court.
You'll find a dining table for twelve and a six-ring gas barbeque for meals alfresco, whilst loungers and chairs nestled around the pool offer space for everyone to relax. If you're feeling a little competitive, there's croquet to play on the lawn and table tennis in the pool house. The pool house has an oven and four ring electric hob plus a dishwasher and fridge - so everything is at hand for rustling up drinks and snacks. In addition, there's a loo and shower.
The house is surrounded by grass and woodland, lending a uniquely peaceful feel to this special spot. Whether it's spotting deer on the skyline on a summer's evening, or the bark of a fox in a nearby wood, you're really surrounded by nature at its best...

Parking
There is plenty of private, off-road parking plus a universal car charger for electric cars.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome at Longbourn. A travel cot, highchair and stair gate can be provided on request.
Dogs
Longbourn welcomes one well behaved dog. Please note that the five acres of garden are sheep proof but not guaranteed dog proof. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
In the Area
Longbourn lies in a 200-acre farm comprising of grassland and woods in the Test Valley, one of the most popular areas of Hampshire. The Test Valley boasts peaceful villages set within undulating and lightly wooded landscape, divided by its world-renowned chalk streams and rivers, making it a wonderful spot for leisurely walks. If you're an avid cyclist, the area is a cycling paradise with stunning car free roads. If you love mountain biking, then there are plenty of routes in the surrounding woods and the nearby New Forest. You're also free to explore the woods and fields of the farmland, just perfect for when you want a car-free day!
Pop in the car and just 10 minutes away is Bentley Wood, a huge 2000-acre with lots of tracks and paths - perfect for stretching your legs. Head to Romsey, an ancient market town, and Stockbridge, the heart of the Test Valley - for shopping and eating out. Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bournemouth, Sandbanks, Winchester and the Isle of Wight are all nearby and well worth exploring on days out and about.
