Tucked away in its own private grounds far away from roads, Atelier (meaning ‘workshop’ in French) is a gorgeous barn conversion set on farmland with exquisite views over the rolling Cotswold hills. Roomy, eclectic, and stylish, Atelier exudes the farm workshop that it once was and is something a little different. This wonderful retreat for four is filled with handsome furniture from the owner’s family, antique shops and restoration yards, and benefits from two en-suite bedrooms and a gorgeous open plan living space with a wood burner and bespoke artworks. Fall in love with the incredible views, peaceful ambience and luxurious living; just a few hours here will see stresses and strains falling off shoulders, a perfect escape for couples, families or friends alike. Set in the hidden North Cotswolds close to Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh, Atelier is a wonderful hideaway for exploring this stunning part of England, whether it’s wandering round picturesque market towns, hiking over gentle hills and through verdant woodland, discovering delicious eateries or simply to rest and unwind at your own pace - perfect!

Living and eating

The huge open plan living, kitchen and dining area within Atelier is simply divine with reclaimed wooden flooring, stylish artwork, and fabulous interior design - the perfect space in which to spend time with each other. The sitting area lies to the front of the room where two floor-to-ceiling glass doors open out on to the terrace. The views over the rolling Cotswold countryside are just stunning here, especially at sunset; openthe doors wide on summery days to let the outside in as you relax on the comfy leather sofa and armchairs. For cooler days, there’s a huge Nordpeis wood burner to keep things snug and warm, the perfect spot to curl up with a drink in hand, whilst a Smart TV is available for film nights and a Google Nest Audio is set up for music. To the back of the room lies the subtle and stylish matt black kitchen that blends into the background so that you can enjoy the view. Perfectly equipped to rustle up something great, there’s an induction hob and oven, fridge freezer, washer dryer and the all-important cafetière for a wake-me-up brew, as well as all the other essentials needed.

Sleeping and bathing

There are two heavenly en suite bedrooms to choose from. The first bedroom has a wonderful king-sized bed, complete with mustard throws and pretty cushions, guaranteeing a blissful night’s sleep. We love the eye-catching wooden floor, whilst there’s an antique, mirror-fronted wardrobe, armchair, and digital radio too, it’s the ideal space to relax and take five. The gorgeous en suite features a Clearwater Teardop bath and separate shower. Bedroom two is just charming. The zip-and-link bed can be made up as twins or a super king-sized bed, for flexible sleeping arrangements. With a beautiful, exposed Cotswold stone wall, wooden flooring, fab locker-style wardrobe, dressing table and dual aspect windows with wonderful views, this is a luxurious yet relaxed room to retire to at the end of the day. The en suite is fabulous, and boasts a huge walk-in shower. Both bedrooms have non-allergenic luxury duvets and pillows and luxurious linens to enwrap you at night, while both en suites have underfloor heating and heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outside space

Step from the glass doors in the living area out on to the sunny terrace; here you’ll discover a dining table and chairs for alfresco eating, two sun loungers and two further chairs and a coffee table for outside relaxing. The rest of the garden is laid to lawn, with exquisite views over the undulating Cotswold hills to keep you company.

Parking

There is private, off-road parking for up to two cars. Please note that as the property is on a farm and access is via a track, which may not be suitable for cars with low suspension.

Babies and children

Babies and children are most welcome. Please bring your own baby equipment with you.

Dogs

One well-behaved dog is most welcome at Atelier. A dog bowl, dog towels, outside washing area, dog bed and blanket are provided. Please note that Atelier is situated on a working farm with sheep, lambs, chickens, and cattle, so dogs must always be kept under control. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

In the Area

Situated in the North Cotswolds between the pretty villages of Lower Brailes and Sutton-under-Brailes, Atelier is perfectly situated to explore this beautiful part of the country. Nearby are the unusual Sezincote House and Gardens in Moreton-in-Marsh, the National Trust’s Hidcote Gardens and Compton Verney Art Gallery & Park, whilst the Neolithic Rollright Stones are well worth a visit too. Slightly further afield is impressive Blenheim Palace, or head further into the Cotswolds to explore the pretty market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury to name but a few. Take a trip to Batsford Arboretum for a walk amongst beautiful trees, hop over to Daylesford Organic for incredible food, fabulous farm shop and maybe a healing treatment, or make a day of it in Stratford-upon-Avon. Surrounded by pretty honey stone villages, nearby Whichford with its own world-renowned pottery and Straw Kitchen Café, and pub on the village green won’t disappoint. Just down the road is the fantastic Cotswold Distillery, and a stone’s throw in the opposite direction takes you to the historic Hook Norton Brewery, whilst the Cotswold Wildlife Park is always a hit with children and adults alike. With footpaths right outside Atelier, there are lovely country walks; a short stroll will take you to the stylish Feldon Valley Kitchen or the dog friendly George country pub complete with winter log fires.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Atelier:

Perfect location and stunning views. It was just a 20 minute drive from all popular areas in the Cotswolds. The hosts were very accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Loved Atelier. Bedrooms and bathrooms really were exceptional. Decor throughout was lovely. Enjoyed the walk around the golf course. We had a lot of rain but could imagine how nice it would be in warmer weather. If I needed to get away again for a complete reset I'd likely come here

The cottage is superb, quirky, beautifully furnished and with a wonderful outlook. Owners are very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely stunning lodge on the families farm. The hosts were more than helpful, giving us everything we needed and all the help a young family could wish for. Atelier really is a home from home and we were gutted to leave! Perfect surroundings, walking distance to so many amenities and just perfect for a countryside getaway with a toddler and a dog!

We had a great week at the Atelier. Comfy beds, lovely decor, kitchen fully equipped, lovely views and great walks around the area. Highly recommend it!

Excellent retreat, lots of space, perfectly equipped, gives all the comfort you need!

A very beautiful property which made for an extremely relaxing and enjoyable break.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Atelier for a quiet, ‘away from it all’ escape to the countryside. The views are stunning, the property is beautifully styled and immaculately clean. Lovely bathrooms with decent showers, quality bedding and towels and a well-equipped kitchen. The log burner is a treat and easy to use. Great walks from the doorstep and beautiful villages within easy reach. Thank you for a relaxing break.

Nice comfortable cottage in a rural location. Spacious accommodation and tastefully decorated. Thank you for the welcome basket it was a nice touch.

The property is beautiful and very peaceful. It is extremely well equipped and your every comfort is met. Everything has been done to a very high standard. The owners are so lovely and thoughtful, leaving a delicious welcome package for us.

Wonderful three-night stay in a quiet corner of the picturesque Cotswolds. Hosts were attentive and helpful throughout and the property was beautiful, well-furnished and felt like the right balance between luxurious and homely.

Incredible setting, you really feel like you’re in your own little valley. The owners were very friendly as well as providing lovely welcome gifts!

This is an idyllic and very special retreat with panoramic countryside views. Atelier is very well equipped if you take your dog.

Absolutely gorgeous. Well equipped, lovely peaceful location. Friendly hosts.

Amazing stay, such a cosy place. And it was brilliant that we could walk our 4 and 7 year olds on the footpath to the village pub for lunch!

Fabulous place with amazing hosts who couldn't do enough, thank you!

We had a lovely weekend stay at Atelier. We were two couples and we had plenty of space. The beds were extremely comfy and we found the house to be well equipped! The location is very special - we all felt very relaxed after a few days of staying at Atelier!

A very stylish retreat in a beautifully quiet location. We were lucky enough to watch the barn owls from the living room which was a real treat.

This is such a special place to stay, we didn’t want to leave! Would love to return!!

Atelier is a distinctively stylish dwelling set amongst far reaching views! We were lucky enough to be treated to a fabulous sunset from the sofa! Everything was of very high quality and it was a real treat to stay there!

Atelier was perfect - Tom and Kirsty were available if we needed for tips for Christmas outings and for firewood! It had one of the best stocked kitchens in terms of utensils/flatware/glassware (really helped during all the Christmas cooking). It was perfect for our little French Bulldog too. We would've stayed longer if we could have!

A beautiful and welcoming nest, where it is a pleasure to take refuge in the evening after a day around the Cotswolds. Upon our arrival we found eggs, bread, butter, honey from the farm ... a thought that we very much appreciated. The view from the windows is splendid, the cleanliness impeccable.

Such a superb space for a short break. Quality was as expected from BR. The beds and the bedding in particular were excellent. Wonderful peaceful off the beaten track location. Very private venue, with the most welcoming and accommodating hosts on hand if needed.

Atelier is set in a stunning location and the accommodation is of a high standard and beautifully furnished. Would highly recommend.

We felt at home on our first day of arrival at Atelier. It is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Atelier is perfectly situated for exploring so much of what the Cotswolds has to offer. Lots of beautiful towns and villages within a short drive. But if you prefer it is also ideally situated to sit back, enjoy the view and watch the weather and the wildlife out of the huge bi-folding doors. Thank you for a lovely stay. Looking forward to our return in the Spring.

What an absolutely fabulous stay!! Tom & Kirsty were so beyond lovely as was the property. A truly unique and beautiful stay that was well appointed and just overall wonderful. We hope to be back!

A quiet well furnished bolt hole with pastoral countryside views and easy access to the numerous attractions, quality pubs and restaurants that this part of the Cotswolds has to offer.

Atelier was the perfect long weekend retreat. The view was stunning and surrounding walks were great. A very easy place to switch off and enjoy nature.

Fabulous accommodation, beautifully presented

If you’re looking for tranquility, style and comfort then Atelier offers it all. Off the beaten track but with beautiful drives to everything you need, after a 5 day break felt like we’d been away for much longer. Beautiful views that were only matched by the immaculately designed interior. Communication with Tom and Kirsty from booking to introducing themselves on arrival were spot on and the welcome pack of home produced goods was a fabulous touch as was the information in the property pack. Extremely comfortable (the rain fall shower was awesome), with a well equipped kitchen to put together some much needed food after days exploring the beautiful countryside. Would 100% recommend and we are already thinking of when we can return.

Beautiful retreat with stunning views. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life.

Absolutely gorgeous place and surroundings, we loved the location, the layout of the property was spacious and worked very well for our family. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning.

An absolutely superb cottage retreat, unique and full of amazing character. Beautiful, top quality furnishings and fantastically comfortable beds and bedding. Tom and Kirsty have thought of everything a guest could possibly dream of for a luxury getaway. The setting of the cottage is also amazing, so quiet and peaceful with perfect views across the fields of the farm and the Cotswolds beyond. We really can't fault anything and would love to return.

Absolutely spectacular. The owners were really generous and the whole experience was great.
