Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor sets the scene for blissful barefoot mornings and cosy evenings spent unwinding beside the warming electric stove. A manicured garden invites slow morning coffees, sun-soaked afternoons and heavenly soaks in the hot tub beneath a canopy of stars. When you're ready to explore, the tranquil shores of Rutland Water lie within easy reach, while the picturesque towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford beckon with award-winning eateries, historic attractions and artisan markets. Living
A symphony of comforting shades, the living area welcomes effortless relaxation, showcasing the cottage's spellbinding traditional features, from the original fireplace to the exposed beams and stonework. Nestled within the fireplace, a cast iron electric stove radiates warmth and cosiness, while the three-seater sofa from The Cotswold Co, complemented by a Loaf love seat, two armchairs and two accent chairs in harmonious hues, offers a serene spot to unwind in front of the 50" Smart TV.
Eating and dining
Prepare divine dishes in the traditional cottage kitchen, where bespoke cabinetry, wooden worktops and a central island rest beneath characterful exposed beams. The kitchen is fully equipped with an array of culinary accoutrements, including a Rangemaster dual oven with electric hob, an American stye fridge freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Relish slow mornings with the Smeg bean-to-cup coffee machine, complemented by a Quooker hot tap and cafetière for crafting the perfect brew. At the far side of the room, a White Company display cabinet showcases an elegant collection of glassware and crockery. A washer dryer can also be found in the utility room.
Within the light-filled garden room lies a contemporary oval dining table, inviting shared feasts with loved ones. Savour enchanting garden vistas as you dine year-round, and in the warmer months, open the bi-fold doors to embrace seamless indoor-outdoor living.
Sleeping and bathing
Uncover three first floor bedrooms at Reverie, where beds swathed in 400-thread-count Egyptian cotton and adorned with duvets and pillows from The White Company promise dream-filled nights. Gently nodding to the retreat's heritage, exposed stonework lends character to each bedroom.
Centred around a solid wood super king-size bed dressed in sumptuous linen and layered with cushions and throws in rich olive tones, the first bedroom invites restful nights and leisurely lie-ins. A Smart TV above the Loaf chest of drawers encourages effortless viewing, while the ensuite shower room adds convenience to your morning rituals.
Promising soothing slumber, the second bedroom showcases a comfortable Loaf double bed, complemented by cushions and throws in rosy hues. Loaf bedside tables rest on either side of the bed, and built-in wardrobes offer plenty of space for storing belongings. A cosy setting for luxurious repose, the third bedroom welcomes with beautifully appointed twin beds, where built-in wardrobes offer ample space for stowing away belongings.
Conveniently positioned on the first floor, the family bathroom is a haven for relaxing self-care rituals, featuring a large rainfall shower for refreshing mornings, and a slipper bathtub that beckons for bubble-topped soaks. On the ground floor, you'll find an additional toilet within the utility room. Bamford products can be found throughout the bathrooms, bringing a touch of luxury to your daily routines.
Please note, there are level changes between some of the rooms on both floors, with two steps down into the first bedroom, and one step up to the remaining bedrooms. The staircase also features an open-tread design, so do take care when moving between floors.
Outside space
Step outside to uncover the beautifully manicured cottage garden, where a bordered lawn unfolds alongside a stone terrace, creating an idyllic setting for alfresco living. A modern dining table, accompanied by a Bramblecrest corner sofa and benches, creates the perfect setting for savouring freshly grilled feasts from the Weber electric barbecue. A reclining bistro set offers a space for slow morning coffees and afternoon tipples beneath blue skies, while the wooden electric hot tub is the dreamiest spot to soak beneath the stars after dark.
Please note, there is a small drop between the terrace and the lawn, so please take care when stepping between the two.
Parking
There is parking for two cars on the driveway at Reverie. For ease of access, we recommend reversing onto the driveway. Additional parking can be found on the main road.
Babies and children
Babies up to 6 months and children over the age of 12 are most welcome at Reverie. We kindly ask that you bring your own baby equipment.
Dogs
Up to two dogs are welcome at Reverie. Dog beds and dog bowls are provided, and the rear garden is enclosed for dogs to roam. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
