Black Box Cabin is wonderfully secluded but not isolated. Overlooking a panoramic valley in the NW of the Isle of Skye, whitewashed stone crofters' cottages & contemporary cabins nestle harmonically nearby in the surrounding hills. Their magnificence is enhanced by the hundreds of sheep, some at your door.
The cabin itself is unique, clean-lined & minimalist, its blackness accentuating the surrounding rocks. The interior is spare but bright & welcoming, the generous windows letting in spectacular vistas, each like a marvelous painting on the unadorned walls. The mood is elegant with soft neutral colours, oatmeal & cream, in all the rooms. Without being fussy, the living/dining area offers comfort. The cement-topped table is impressively accommodating. A gourmet cook would be happy in the spiffy, well-equipped kitchen. Attractive pottery dishes & stainless steel cutlery are part of its appeal. The views from the inviting main bedroom, the cozy bed with its fine linens & down duvet make sleeping & waking a joy. The second bedroom, with twin beds, is equally appealing. Next to it, there is a spacious glass shower. An enormous soaking tub is also a sumptuous plus.
Our idyllic four days were too short. We reveled in the privacy, the tasteful luxury & the splendour of the landscape. We only missed an inviting reading chair & storage for our stuff. We'd return in a heartbeat.
