Failte! Welcome to our newest Scottish beauty, nestled on the water's edge on the handsome Isle of Skye. A ruin for over one hundred years, this former fisherman's shelter (which is what Bothy means in Gaelic) sits on a Laird's estate dating back to the late 1700s. Today, Corry Bothy has been lovingly restored by its owners and turned into a beautiful dog friendly abode for couples. Blending the traditional with the modern, there's plenty of windows to make the most of the gorgeous views whilst underfloor heating throughout and a large wood burner means you'll always be toasty warm, whatever the weather. Situated close to the village of Broadford, this wonderful retreat is perfectly situated to explore the simply epic beauty of Skye, whether you're hiking around the Old Man of Storr, marvelling at the Fairy Pools, taking a boat trip to spot sea eagles or enjoying a tipple at one of the islands' three whiskey distilleries.

Living

There are two lovely spots to choose from when it comes to relaxing. The main sitting room boasts a gorgeous wood burning stove with a sofa made for two and some occasional chairs. There's also a cute desk too should you need to catch up on any work (we don't recommend it!) or if the wild beauty of Skye inspires you to get writing. In addition, there's more seating in the entrance hall, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that overlook the garden and trees. Here you'll find to sumptuous chairs - the perfect spot to curl up with a book - plus a radio with Bluetooth, games, books, lanterns and binoculars to keep you entertained.

Eating

The spacious, jaw-droppingly lovely kitchen/dining room with huge windows, exposed stone walls and high wooden vaulted ceiling makes this spot the heart of the home. The compact yet fully equipped kitchen has wonderful views along shoreline and comes complete with an induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, and the all-important espresso machine. In addition, a washing machine tucked away in the entrance hall cupboard.

Fish and seafood lovers can make the most of deliveries of fresh fish direct to the door - details of the local fisherman are left for you - for the ultimate boat-to-plate experience - yum!

Enjoy long, leisurely meals at the vintage dining table which dates back to the 1930's, all the while gazing out over the sea. Alternatively, snuggle up on one of the window seats with a drink in one hand and binoculars in the other - bliss!

Sleeping

The cosy bedroom with beautiful wooden vaulted ceiling is suitably snug for blissful nights. Adorned with a stunning wooden super king sleigh bed, it's generously covered with luxurious linens and tactile throws and cushions to ensure a deep sleep every time. There's a vintage wardrobe to store clothes, bedside tables plus a great Velux window - perfect for letting in the morning light or for stargazing at night. A TV is tucked away should you fancy watching a night-time film.

Bathing

The gorgeous bathroom with exposed stone wall is just a delight, with a huge walk in shower/wet room area with large rainfall shower - perfect for wake-me-up showers in the morning. There's also a sumptuous bath, just made for deep soaks after a long day exploring and hiking amongst the mountains. We just love the floor to ceiling windows plus there's a door to the private garden where local plants, flowers and birds can entertain you whilst you bathe.

Outdoor space

There is a gorgeous, wild private garden to explore and make the most of the stunning views across the sea and to the islands and mountains beyond.

Parking

There is private, off road parking at the property.

In the Area

Skye has to be one of Scotland's most exquisite islands and which has inspired many notable people, from Agatha Christie to Virginia Woolf, with its wild beauty. One thing is for sure, you'll not want for things to do, whether you're a keen walker, a foodie or a wildlife lover (or a mixture of all three!). If you love to explore on foot, make sure to bring your walking boots and experience the iconic Old Man of Storr, gaze in delight at The Quiraing (bring your camera!) whilst the more adventurous and experienced cab climb the Cullin. If you're more of a salty sea dog, there are plentiful boat trips, whether it's spotting sea eagles, whale watching or fishing whilst a swim in the sea is a must. Other places of note are the Fairy Glen, the Fairy Pools (take a dip if you dare!) and Dunvegan Castle. As you would expect, there's a host of amazing restaurants to try, whilst whisky lovers should visit the three distilleries: Talisker, Torabhaig and Raasay (which is a 25-minute ferry ride away).

A warm Hebridean welcome awaits you at this oh-so-romantic retreat, tucked away on the seashore with mountains and sea views on the wonderous Isle of Skye - simply exquisite!

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Corry Bothy:

A very comfortable and stylish cottage in the wonderfully scenic setting of Broadford Bay with views over to the Skye bridge and Highlands in the distance from the large windows 4 metres from high tide! Walking distance into Broadford and the last building on the walk to Irishman’s Point. Very warm and very solid - a great place to weather out a storm enjoying the view and weather. Great place to discover Skye from. Decent sized supermarket, petrol station, shops and restaurants 5 minutes.

Fantastic place to stay. The Bothy is beautiful, very quiet with views across the bay. One of the best places we have stayed.

Look no further! Perfection!
