Dreams are made at Arboretum, our gorgeous eight-bedroom retreat within the North Wessex Downs AONB. Welcoming up to 19 guests and two dogs for heavenly escapes, it beckons with the promise of endless luxury and leisure. Revel in the sanctuary of our exquisite homestay and spend spellbinding hours uncovering all to see and do here, as well as picturesque countryside beyond the doorstep. For moments of pure enchantment, extensive grounds, a cinema room, bar, and a wonderful health suite with a heated indoor pool and sauna evoke utter bliss. Meanwhile, for those bursts of energy, a tennis court, gym, entertainment room with a pool table and air hockey table encourage all generations to play and unwind. Step through the handsome courtyard to the grand, light-filled entrance hall and let your getaway begin, ready for unforgettable memories to be made in Boutique style.

Designed around an attractive courtyard, Arboretum's tapestry of rooms present stylish, comfortable spaces for every occasion. Whether you're looking for somewhere to relax, gather, or entertain, it truly has somewhere for everyone. First up, a real beauty bathed in sage and blush tones is the drawing room. With three large sofas, a wood burning stove and a grand piano entices musical maestros, it's as perfect for slow mornings as convivial eves. Elsewhere, a separate library room can be found off the entrance hall. A tranquil space, complete with booklined shelves and two plump armchairs for moments lost between the pages.

A firm favourite with adults and children alike, the wonderful games room rallies all generations with a chess table, pool table and air hockey table. Warmed by a wood burning stove, this attractive room with exposed beams, characterful fireplace and vaulted ceiling is a real dream. Making it all the more inviting is an adjoining cinema area with surround sound, where a nine-seater, U-shaped Loaf sofa resides in front of a large TV for those magical movie nights. Ensuring everyone has somewhere snug to retire, Arboretum also has a generous boot room where built-in dog beds provide somewhere quiet and comfy for your canine companions to enjoy. To keep you cosy, there is underfloor heating downstairs, and to set the soundtrack, Sonos speakers are found throughout the ground floor.

For security purposes, CCTV is in operation on the exterior of Arboretum, however these cameras are not monitored in real time. Additional CCTV is in place inside of the property, but these cameras will not be active during guest stays.

Eating and dining

The most perfect homestay for families and friends, Arboretum encompasses a stunning array of rooms for gathering over food and fizz. The heart of the home, the bright and airy kitchen and family room has a contemporary farmhouse feel, with a striking vaulted ceiling with open oak rafters and doors to the garden. Running the length of the property and adjoined by a handy utility room, it is served by plentiful space, seating, and accoutrements - including large Gaggenau ovens, a Zip hot, cold and sparkling water tap, and an all-important Nespresso coffee machine. For laidback culinary delights, gather around the breakfast island or take a pew on one of the comfortable sofas angled around a wood burning stove. Or, for a touch of ceremony, come together around the kitchen's sixteen-seater dining table for moments worth savouring.

For more formal celebrations, a beautiful dining room with forest-green, wood panelled walls sets an elegant scene. Taking pride of place in the centre of the room, a long mahogany table illuminated by a chandelier comfortably seats up to sixteen and invites for atmospheric feasts. Next door, a bar room is located off the dining room, idyllic for pre-dinner aperitifs. Featuring a sofa, four armchairs, large garden-view windows and a well-stocked bar, this room encourages you to sit back, unwind and fall into conversations that flow long into the night.

Sleeping and bathing

Arboretum has eight luxurious bedrooms to choose from, one of which is located in a separate, self-contained studio. Each bedroom has its own private en suite supplied with the fluffiest towels from The White Company.

The master suite, bedroom one inspires sumptuous reverie with a symphony of cream and gold. A spacious sanctuary on the first floor, it comfortably houses a four-poster super king-sized bed, sofa, two armchairs and a TV. For utmost style and comfort, this room is coupled with a dressing room and an en suite bathroom, where twin vanity basins, a twin shower and freestanding bath reside.

A picture of perfection, the second bedroom stars a super king-sized bed draped in fine linens which beckons for slow mornings and cosy eves. Inside, you'll find a built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers and a lovely en suite with a large shower, freestanding bath and twin vanity basins.

Also on the first floor, bedroom three has a super-cosy double bed, made all the more inviting with sumptuous pillows and throws. As well as a built-in wardrobe, chair and footstool, this delightful bedroom also benefits from an en suite bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower attachment.

Situated on the second floor, bedroom four presents a super king-sized bed and an armchair for leisurely breakfast-in-bed moments. For somewhere to perch your book or your coffee, the bed is embraced by bedside tables, while built-in wardrobes and a chest of drawers provide ample storage. This bedroom's gorgeous en suite has a large shower and a twin vanity basin.

Bedroom five is also set on the second floor and is full of charm with quirky ceilings, promising nights of blissful repose with a beautiful super king-sized bed dressed in crisp white sheets. Adding an extra splash of luxury to everyday, its en suite bathroom includes a large shower, as well as a twin vanity basin and a freestanding bath for soothing soaks.

Bedroom six is a light-filled, second-floor twin room with two large single beds. It has a characterful ceiling and alcove window with views over the garden. Dressed in calming neutral tones with elegant splashes of colour, it sets a welcoming scene in which to unwind. This bedroom is paired with an en suite with a large shower and vanity basin.

A real haven for children, bedroom seven boasts four built-in single bunk beds, as well as a cute cot bed in the folly room. The bunk beds are full size single beds, so would be suitable for children and adults under 6ft. On the second floor, its quirky ceilings add a cosy touch, while its white, wood-clad walls exude a calming ambience. This room is married with an ensuite shower room, where you'll find a large shower and vanity basin.

Set within a separate studio, bedroom eight has a super king-sized bed swathed in pure linens and hugged by bedside tables. Tastefully decorated throughout, this bedroom also has a futon for added cosiness. Like all of Arboretum's stunning bedrooms, this space has its own en suite bathroom, where a shower and bath await.

Swimming pool, sauna and gym

For magic poolside moments, our fabulous retreat is complete with its very own stunning health suite. Here, a 12m heated swimming pool, sauna and gym can all be found, ready to burn or restore your energy as you please. Open year-round, this irresistible space appeals to all generations, and comes with a his-and-hers shower and changing rooms for convenience.

Ideal for couples or for those looking to savour moments of quietude, Arboretum is home to a self-contained studio. Set apart from the main house, it comes complete with a sitting room with a TV, a fully-equipped kitchen and a bedroom with en suite bathroom.

Outdoor space

Promising hours of fun, the grounds of Arboretum are yours to explore. Surrounded by 4.5 acres of parkland garden, this space offers entertaining areas and quiet corners to suit every mood. With a number of seating areas, you can find a 16-seater table and chairs on the patio outside the kitchen, tempting for alfresco feasts grilled on the Big Green Egg BBQ and served under open skies. A cosy pergola offers an intimate setting with space for four, while a separate detached pergola with a warming fire pit has seating for eight. Elsewhere, a medley of outdoor sofas and chairs nestle around another fire pit, while four sun loungers topped with cushions overlook the manicured lawn. Meanwhile, providing multi-generational appeal are an all-weather tennis court, badminton net, and croquet and boule sets. You will also find a Pavilion with a large bench to watch games in action.

There is parking for 20+ cars, with a large courtyard with a turning circle, garage and carport.

Babies and children

Children and one babe-in-arms are welcome at Arboretum. A travel cot, cot bed, Tripp Trapp highchair and booster seat are all provided upon request.

In the Area

Set in a magnificent Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Arboretum is perfectly placed for exploring. Only 2 miles from Pewsey and 8 miles from Marlborough, it is just a short drive from a wide array of delectable eateries and independent shops that you can peruse at your own pace. Marlborough high street was also voted the second-best high street in the UK, with a wonderful independent cinema too. For dining, Tale of Spice in Pewsey brings an authentic taste of India to Wiltshire, while Marlborough's eclectic restaurants offer a global voyage, including Rick Stein's, La Bobina and The Zaika Inn. For something extra special, the thatched, Michelin-recommended Red Lion Freehouse in East Chisenbury (just 4.5 miles away) serves astonishingly flavoursome dishes in a quaint setting.

Full of history, the verdant countryside surrounding Arboretum is home to a wealth of historical relics. Woven with a network of country trails and peppered with heritage sites, it can easily be uncovered on foot or by car for those looking to learn more about the area. Particularly fascinating are Avebury Stone Circle and West Kennet Long Barrow (both within 10 miles of your dreamy retreat) and conceal thousands of years of history. Stonehenge is only 15 miles from Arboretum too, dating back to the late Neolithic period. The chalk hill figure of Pewsey White Horse is a must-see, meanwhile for adventures on the wild side, Longleat Safari Park is a wonderful day out. Perfect for walks with four-legged friends, Silbury Hill and Savernake Forest are both in Marlborough, and afford beautiful settings in which to weave trails together.
