Living
Designed around an attractive courtyard, Arboretum's tapestry of rooms present stylish, comfortable spaces for every occasion. Whether you're looking for somewhere to relax, gather, or entertain, it truly has somewhere for everyone. First up, a real beauty bathed in sage and blush tones is the drawing room. With three large sofas, a wood burning stove and a grand piano entices musical maestros, it's as perfect for slow mornings as convivial eves. Elsewhere, a separate library room can be found off the entrance hall. A tranquil space, complete with booklined shelves and two plump armchairs for moments lost between the pages.
A firm favourite with adults and children alike, the wonderful games room rallies all generations with a chess table, pool table and air hockey table. Warmed by a wood burning stove, this attractive room with exposed beams, characterful fireplace and vaulted ceiling is a real dream. Making it all the more inviting is an adjoining cinema area with surround sound, where a nine-seater, U-shaped Loaf sofa resides in front of a large TV for those magical movie nights. Ensuring everyone has somewhere snug to retire, Arboretum also has a generous boot room where built-in dog beds provide somewhere quiet and comfy for your canine companions to enjoy. To keep you cosy, there is underfloor heating downstairs, and to set the soundtrack, Sonos speakers are found throughout the ground floor.
For security purposes, CCTV is in operation on the exterior of Arboretum, however these cameras are not monitored in real time. Additional CCTV is in place inside of the property, but these cameras will not be active during guest stays.
Eating and dining
The most perfect homestay for families and friends, Arboretum encompasses a stunning array of rooms for gathering over food and fizz. The heart of the home, the bright and airy kitchen and family room has a contemporary farmhouse feel, with a striking vaulted ceiling with open oak rafters and doors to the garden. Running the length of the property and adjoined by a handy utility room, it is served by plentiful space, seating, and accoutrements - including large Gaggenau ovens, a Zip hot, cold and sparkling water tap, and an all-important Nespresso coffee machine. For laidback culinary delights, gather around the breakfast island or take a pew on one of the comfortable sofas angled around a wood burning stove. Or, for a touch of ceremony, come together around the kitchen's sixteen-seater dining table for moments worth savouring.
For more formal celebrations, a beautiful dining room with forest-green, wood panelled walls sets an elegant scene. Taking pride of place in the centre of the room, a long mahogany table illuminated by a chandelier comfortably seats up to sixteen and invites for atmospheric feasts. Next door, a bar room is located off the dining room, idyllic for pre-dinner aperitifs. Featuring a sofa, four armchairs, large garden-view windows and a well-stocked bar, this room encourages you to sit back, unwind and fall into conversations that flow long into the night.

Only 2 miles from Pewsey and 8 miles from Marlborough, it is just a short drive from a wide array of delectable eateries and independent shops that you can peruse at your own pace. Marlborough high street was also voted the second-best high street in the UK, with a wonderful independent cinema too. For dining, Tale of Spice in Pewsey brings an authentic taste of India to Wiltshire, while Marlborough's eclectic restaurants offer a global voyage, including Rick Stein's, La Bobina and The Zaika Inn. For something extra special, the thatched, Michelin-recommended Red Lion Freehouse in East Chisenbury (just 4.5 miles away) serves astonishingly flavoursome dishes in a quaint setting.
Full of history, the verdant countryside surrounding Arboretum is home to a wealth of historical relics. Woven with a network of country trails and peppered with heritage sites, it can easily be uncovered on foot or by car for those looking to learn more about the area. Particularly fascinating are Avebury Stone Circle and West Kennet Long Barrow (both within 10 miles of your dreamy retreat) and conceal thousands of years of history. Stonehenge is only 15 miles from Arboretum too, dating back to the late Neolithic period. The chalk hill figure of Pewsey White Horse is a must-see, meanwhile for adventures on the wild side, Longleat Safari Park is a wonderful day out. Perfect for walks with four-legged friends, Silbury Hill and Savernake Forest are both in Marlborough, and afford beautiful settings in which to weave trails together.
