The Ship Inn is Mousehole’s proper pub. Full of salty fisherman and good cheer on the harbour front it serves up good food, and WiFi. WiFi may not be important to you, if fact the escapism and timelessness of Mousehole may be the entire appeal – however should you wish to stay connected, or even check back into the real world The Ship is the place to sit.
The Inn features original oak beams and big open fires drawing you in with a characterful charm and creaky blush of salty history at its door. The selection of local ales, Cornish beers and a fair few wines are also part of beckoning.
Pull up a pew and settle in for relaxing and conversation with your pals. The restaurant is straight up wholesome pub grub, unpretentious and deliciously satisfying. Think scampi and chips and steak and kidney pie. Good pubs with that fantastic atmosphere are always worth a visit – for recommendations of local walks to meeting the talented artists that reside quietly in the Mousehole village or to simply read the paper in the relative peace and quiet that only a village pub can offer.
You may also be treated to traditional sea shanties by the local Mousehole Male Voice Choir if you time your visit well…
Food is served from 12noon - 2.30pm and 6.00pm - 8.30pm with beer on tap pretty much all day.
