For those wanting a bit more privacy in a more fine-dining setting, you have the former old station waiting room at the back which has been thoughtfully converted into a light airy bistro.
Using fresh ingredients from local suppliers, The Cleave offers a menu of pub classics and beloved dishes as well as a Specials Board which makes the most of its fresh fish and seasonal produce. Enjoy a meaty and generous delight from the grill such as The Cleave Hamburger, Gammon Steak, Rump Steak or succulent Whole Rack of Ribs or choose from a selection of favourites such as Sausages and Mash, Breaded Scampi and Suet Topped Steak, Mushroom and Real Ale Pie. We highly recommend the Pan Roasted Chicken Supreme – beautifully cooked and wonderfully moist!
Located in a wonderful area which is every walkers dream, this pub is ideally situated to take a break from your hike and treat yourself to a spot of lunch or a glass of your favourite drink. The Cleave is also dog-friendly and offers gluten free, vegetarian and vegan alternatives so everyone is welcome to come in from the cold and get warm. Though off the beaten track, many visitors travel from all over to have the taste of the home-made delights this country pub has to offer so we would highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment!
