Roskilly’s, the Lizard

In the heart of the Lizard Peninsula is Roskilly’s, a family-run organic farm producing award-winning ice cream. Offering visitors free entry, all generations are welcome to explore the site and discover the magic within.

Upon arriving at Roskilly’s, park up in one of the car parks and set off. A short stroll will take you to a courtyard, encircled by the farm’s restaurant, gift shop and facilities. If you are looking for a little pick-me-up, there is a fantastic selection of Roskilly’s ice cream available that will just hit the spot. Treat yourself to a classic of vanilla or chocolate, or go for something a little more adventurous like crunchy caramel, blackcurrant cheesecake or cream team ice cream.

If you have little ones in tow, a visit to the farm’s residents is a must. Ice cream in hand, wander towards the various enclosures and pens and say hello to furry faces and feathery friends of all shapes and sizes. Whilst some of the animals are a little shy, others are really friendly and love meeting new people. If you come along at 10am, you can even see the cows being milked from the viewing gallery.

Once you are ready to explore some more, head down the road and trace the farm’s meadows and ponds. A dog-friendly attraction, pop your dog on a lead and let them sniff out the new scents as you enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside. Open throughout the year, you can see the farm change with the seasons – particularly special in spring as new life blossoms and flourishes all around.

As you tread your way back, the final stop is the restaurant. Well, it would be rude not to. Serving a wide variety of dishes using lots of locally-sourced ingredients, you can refuel and recharge with a hearty, wholesome meal and refreshing drink. In the summer, keep an eye on the events taking place too, including pizza nights with delicious pizzas cooked in the outdoor wood-fired oven.
