Surrey is particularly blessed with not just vineyards but the purveyors of gin, the oh-so-popular beverage made from Juniper berries. Whilst we’re not endorsing naughty habits, we can’t think of anything better than a tour of Surrey’s finest with a taste or two on the way (designate a driver, or better still, hire one!), so here’s a list of our must-see favourites. P.S. If you need an excuse, National Gin Day is 9th June!
Silent Pool Distillers
A distillery set up by a group of friends, Silent Pool produces handcrafted, artisan spirits and are quickly becoming well-renowned. Their main gin boasts botanicals such as liquorice root, cassia bark, orris and bergamot whilst they also produce small batch gins such as Greengage, Camomile and even CBD! They offer 90-minute tours and tastings – check their website for days and times. Private parties can be arranged too – why not arrange a G & T party? Yum!

Gin Kitchen
This fab distillery opened in 2016 with their Gutsy Monkey Winter Gin and things progressed quickly with their Dancing Dragontail Summer Gin launched at Fortnum and Mason’s to huge acclaim. With a fab range of gins that break from the norm (Eternal Absinthe anyone?) this is a fun, lively company that offers tasting experiences, cocktail masterclasses and distilling experiences. There’s a gin and cocktail bar too.
