Crisp white walls, sumptuous linens, soft honey-coloured wood and Cornish stone floors await you at blissful Mebyn Cottage, a fabulous home stay for six close to the north coast hotspots of Holywell Bay, Mawgan Porth and Crantock. Step into this sanctuary and you'll instantly relax amongst the beautiful furnishings and high ceilings, a hidden away little idyll surrounded by rustling trees.

Living

Dominated by a super-comfy sofa, the living space is made for lounging. A fab wood burning stove means you'll always be snug as a bug, and under floor heating ensures tootsies are kept toasty warm as you pad about the place. A superb leather chair, carefully chosen collectables (we love the antique light) and smattering of big, voluminous cushions ensures this is a retreat to return to after a day out. There's a flat screen SMART TV too so you can snuggle up and watch your favourites, whilst glass doors, leading out into the garden, can be opened on balmy nights. There's an additional study as well, just in case you need to catch up with some work or want to escape and recline with a good book. There's a fantastic sound system throughout the main areas including the two bathrooms and the master bedroom so you can listen to your favourite tunes wherever you are.

Eating

The huge kitchen and dining area is the heart of Mebyn Cottage. With fabulous floor-to-ceiling glass doors letting oodles of light in, this is an airy space made for socialising. The kitchen, equipped with everything you’ll need to rustle up a feast includes a large gas range, baby blue retro fridge, butcher’s block work island, pristine white cupboards, butlers’ sink and golden brown wooden worktops. The trestle-style dining table and benches sit just off of the kitchen in a beautifully vaulted space, alongside another sumptuous Loaf sofa – perfect for resting up on and enjoying a pre-dinner drink or two! Glass doors lead out to the spacious patio and garden beyond, bringing the outside in.

Sleeping

Follow the colourful vintage life rings up the stairs and you’ll find three lovely bedrooms – a king, double and twin. The master king bedroom, with pretty sage-green wallpaper, antique mirrors and en suite shower room, has incredibly high ceilings and makes for a very restful stay. The double is a dream in cream with charming sailing boat wallpaper, brass bedside lamps and gorgeous bed completing the look. The twin bedroom is perfect for little ones, adorned with quaint bicycle wallpaper.

Bathing

The en suite to the master bedroom has a fabulous walk-in shower with drench shower head, whilst the family bathroom has a separate shower and lovely deep bath – perfect for soaking in after a day exploring.

Parking

There’s plenty of parking to the front of Mebyn Cottage.

Outside Space

Leading out from the kitchen and dining area is a patio area complete with loungers, table, chairs and BBQ – perfect for a spot of al fresco dining in the sunshine. Surrounded by lush trees, the private garden space is laid to lawn, perfect for little ones to play on and for your pooch to run around.

A travel cot, highchair and stairgates are provided. Please bring your own bedding for the cot.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Mebyn Cottage:

Very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and to a high standard.

Lovely cottage, will be booking through boutique retreats again.

Fabulous cottage, so cosy and yet in perfect position for beach walks with the dogs- we will return!

Beautiful and immaculately kept cosy cottage.

This is the perfect dog stay cottage - our two dogs settle in quickly and the stone flooring meant they could go in and out without leaving a visible trail of muddy paw prints. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here

We're very keen to return next year.

Just a lovely stay in a beautiful cottage, a short drive from Holywell Bay. Perfect retreat away from the city.

A lovely location and a beautiful cottage.

Thank you! We had a great stay and it was extremely relaxing.

A wonderful property in a quaint small town. Perfect for a family or small group of friends. Very close to the idyllic beaches and plenty of local pubs and restaurants. Don’t forget to stop in at the great local butchers / grocery store - very friendly and well stocked! Throughly recommended.

We loved our stay at Mebyn Cottage. The accommodation was of a high standard with all the amenities and equipment. We loved the speaker system throughout the house . The phesant pub just two minutes walk had fantastic food with great service. There are a couple of local shops that sell most things if you require. Our favourite beaches are Holywell and Crantock which are dog friendly. I would definitely recommend this property .

Excellent location, beautiful cottage, exceeded my expectations. Would definitely return and recommend to others. I did have a few questions, but it was very easy to contact you by 'phone. That was very important to me as so many companies can only be contacted by email or by webchat which can be frustrating and impersonal.

If anything I think the description undersells this property. The place was comfortable, welcoming, well stocked and had all the little touches that make staying away in a house all that but easier. We loved the fantastic welcome gifts, and appreciated the well equipped kitchen. The beds, bedding and towels were all high end and luxurious which makes a huge difference in terms of comfort while on holiday. Loved the butchers and pub in the town - both very friendly spots to visit.

Very well decorated and comfortable. Dave was very approachable and helpful.

Mebyn is gorgeous. The location near (all day in August) dog friendly beaches and a pub in walking distance was fab. The comfort level was wonderful - I do appreciate quality bedlinen, beds and towels which this property has. Lovely furniture - all in all very comfortable and stylish. I think we will look to visit again!

Gorgeous little place with ample room and great garden for the dogs! We’ve stayed twice now and absolutely love it!!!
