Living

For a cottage, there's a surprisingly large amount of living space for everyone, and with warm, neutral tones used throughout, it's easy to feel totally relaxed in this Cornish escape.

The beautiful sitting area, with stunning feature stone fireplace, wood burner and underfloor heating, is the perfect setting for autumnal evenings, offering cosy sanctuary after a long, blustery coastal walk, or a cool escape from the heat of a hot summer's day. With a sofa, armchairs and a cute window seat, there's room for everyone.

In addition, there's a large 'family' room or conservatory, offering a spacious retreat for everyone with glass doors leading out on to the terrace gardens and spectacular estuary views. Here you'll find lots of seating for everyone to sprawl out, whether to watch a film or a favourite box set on the QLED TV or hang around in the cocoon chair listening to your ultimate playlist on the BOSE speaker. This room also has underfloor heating.

Eating

The fabulous kitchen has everything you'll need to rustle up meals, whether it's the catch of the day from a fisherman in Fowey to super-fresh ingredients from a farm shop. With an electric Rangemaster oven with induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and all the other essentials including the all-important Nespresso coffee machine, you're all set whatever your culinary requirements. There's also a washer dryer on hand should you need it, plus underfloor heating.

The dining area is home to the country kitchen style dining table with seating for 6 - 8 people, the perfect setting for both lazy Sunday breakfast or dinner party celebrations with subtle overhead lighting, underfloor heating, and eye-catching exposed feature brickwork.

Sleeping and bathing

There are three lovely bedrooms to choose from in this gorgeous cottage.

The master bedroom is just lovely, boasting an oh-so-romantic king size four poster bed with wood-panelled walls, clever rattan ottoman and wardrobe for storage. Overlooking the terraced garden, estuary, hills and valley, this is a serene spot to retire to at the end of the day, whilst the open en suite has to be the pièce de resistance with its gorgeous, metal feature roll top bath and overhead shower - bliss!

The second delightful bedroom has a spacious king size bed, with a charming front aspect window seat - the perfect spot to retire to with a book and a coffee for a moments' peace.

The third bedroom has super-sweet twin beds, perfect for little ones or maybe friends staying together. This also has a lovely front aspect window seat.

The pretty family bathroom also has a stunning freestanding bath with overhead shower.

All bedrooms come swathed in luxurious linens, bedding, throws and cushions to ensure a blissful nights' sleep, and there's plenty of storage to stow away belongings.

Both en suite and bathroom come complete with heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.

Outdoor space

The incredible terraced, landscaped garden is the perfect setting, whether it's first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Fully enclosed, the stunning terrace benefits from spectacular views over the estuary, with outdoor tables and chairs for meals alfresco, plus a charcoal barbeque. In addition, there's a sweet bistro table and chairs for two.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Kerensa:

The property is really lovely, there is plenty of room, it is beautifully furnished, and has a very pretty garden. It is very comfortable, and Golant is a lovely quiet village. Perfect for a peaceful break away.

Really well presented retreat, lovely location, quiet village but just a minute walk to a pub and close enough to Fowey that you have that option where needed! Lovely stay.

The cottage has been sympathetically and beautifully renovated, and all the fittings and furnishings are top quality and stylish. The terraced garden was bigger than expected with a gorgeous view of the River Fowey!
