With the narrow streets and fabulous shops of Fowey just a short stroll away, yet set high above the hustle and bustle, this retreat for six offers the best of both worlds. Climb the forty steps and walk through the door, and you’ll find a spacious haven set amongst the canopies of the surrounding trees. With reversed living to make the most of the glorious views, the living areas can be found upstairs whilst the three en suite bedrooms are nestled downstairs. With plenty to do and see in the area, from the lovely coves and villages of the south Cornish coast to the hustle and bustle of Padstow on the north, there’s plenty to see and do.

Special 'Just for Two' rate

A special 'Just for Two' rate applies if there are only two guests staying at The Old Printworks. The discount off the advertised rate is 10%, and this only applies out of peak booking weeks and school holidays.

When The Old Printworks is booked for two guests, this is on the basis that only the master bedroom is used during your stay.

If you have any queries or would like to book, please don't hesitate to get in touch on 01872 553 491 or email enquiries@boutique-retreats.co.uk.

Living

The main light-filled living space makes the most of the stunning views with floor-to-ceiling glass bi-folding doors which leads onto a superb decking area. Vaulted ceilings create a light, airy feel and there’s plenty of seating to curl up on and catch up with a film, or just to natter together on.

Eating

Walk through the main living area and you’ll find the gorgeous kitchen and dining space. The state-of-the-art kitchen includes everything even the most professional of chefs might need, whilst the gorgeous white quartz worktops and super-sleek cabinets provide minimalist chic. For dining, there’s a great breakfast bar in front of the kitchen whilst a long, spacious dining table is perfect for long, leisurely meals together.

Sleeping

Stairs lead down to the three en suite bedrooms where you’ll find the comfiest of beds to fall into after a day’s exploring. The master bedroom has its own private patio which has fabulous river views – perfect to gaze at with an early morning tea or coffee in hand, as well as a television with full Sky package. The further two bedrooms are also fantastically light and airy with gorgeous river views, so nobody misses out! All three bedrooms have sumptuous bed linens and are simply decorated to promote a calm, blissful nights’ sleep.

Bathing

The master bedroom en suite has a large walk-in shower to wash away sandy toes, whilst the second en suite has a bath with shower over it (great for long soaks of an evening). The third en suite has a walk in shower whilst there’s a handy additional cloakroom upstairs.

Outside space

The Old Printworks definitely makes the most of its incredible views with four different decking areas! By the bi-folding doors in the living area, there’s a fantastic wooden deck that’s flooded with morning sunshine – perfect for waking up on and enjoying a spot of al fresco breakfast. The top deck has a slate-paved area and comes fully equipped with a huge Broil King gas barbeque, ideal for rustling up some sizzling delights (maybe some fresh seafood?). There’s a smaller top patio for evening times, complete with a wall-mounted heater for cooler evenings. What could be better than sitting wrapped in blankets watching the twinkling lights below, sipping on a hot chocolate (or perhaps something a little stronger!). There’s also the private patio off of the master bedroom, just in case you want some private me time.

Access

Please note that due to The Old Printworks' elevated position, there are 40 steep steps leading up to the property so may not be suitable for the elderly, infirm or those with limited mobility.

Parking

There’ll be no worries about parking your car as The Old Printworks comes complete with private garage with key entry electric shutter.

Babies and children

One babe-in-arms is most welcome at The Old Printworks. Please bring your own baby equipment with you.

Dogs

Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Old Printworks. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about The Old Printworks:

A great place in a lovely town. Well equipped with comfy beds and lovely views.

We had booked a 3 night weekend break to celebrate a birthday. Great location and unusual for Fowey with garage parking ?? We would normally have cooked more and the kitchen was really well equipped but with a great selection of eateries we mostly ate out. We had a few minor issues with heating/hot water but the housekeeper Kay was super responsive and resolved everything without drama! We would definitely stay at the Old Printworks again. Thanks for a great weekend.

We had a really super stay at The Old Printworks, loved the modern and well equipped interior and the fact that all the bedrooms were en-suite. The location is amazing as it is very easy to walk into Fowey town centre and the garage is a real bonus. The views from the balcony and bedrooms are spectacular and all made for a wonderful, relaxing holiday in the beautiful town of Fowey. We definitely plan to return.

We loved it

Amazing location albeit lots of steep steps, makes eating all The delicious food in cornwall ok as it’s a workout. Beautifully clean, decor is very high end and linens exceptionally clean .. everythg you need to cook in and very cosy in autumn

Perfect views and total tranquility….every modern appliance….a total home from home experience……

Lovely location , beautifully equipped , worth the climb! Lovely place to while away the day with a book or watching life on the river.

Fantastic views and location.

Amazing location. Views to die for.

Highly recommend The Old Printworks. Absolutely amazing house, beautiful decor and everything you could possibly wish for in a holiday retreat. I personally loved the serenity, the views, the secret terrace from my bedroom where I loved my yoga practice each morning. Fowey is packed with so many fabulous restaurants, beaches, ferries to take you to wonderful new beaches and adventures. We didn’t use our car once.. such a treat.. total relaxation, exciting hikes, and the perfect retreat to come back to each afternoon ??

Lovely place and a dream kitchen if you want to cook! . Quiet but easy access to Fowey on foot. Would happily stay again.

I have never stayed in a cleaner more well equipped property - everything was first class. The location was great;

'We loved our stay at The Old Printworks. The property was absolutely spotless when we arrived - the cleaners did an amazing job. It had absolutely every single convenience we could possibly think of and was finished to an incredibly high spec. The beds were so comfortable and the cupboards were thoughtfully stocked with loads of basics, which was a huge help as we arrived late evening. It was beautifully furnished with lots of lovely personal touches that made us feel so welcome and so comfortable during our stay. There were lots of maps and guidebooks that we used and the recommendations left by the owners were all excellent - we tried most of the restaurants they suggested! We loved our stay and would definitely return to Fowey and to same property again in the future.' - October 2018
