Seriously chic, Trevail House is the ultimate glamorous coastal retreat. A former bank and in an enviable position in the heart of bustling, beautiful Fowey, Trevail House is right on the water with the most incredible views. The moment you shut the door behind you, you'll leave your worries behind. Breathe in the beautifully-scented sea air and soak in the calm - set over three floors, expect gorgeous interiors, incredible facilities, plenty of space and a fabulously sun-drenched garden. If you can drag yourself away from your retreat, the town of Fowey is fabulous with an eclectic mix of artisanal and independent shops, top-notch restaurants and a host of activities such as kayaking, hiring a boat or exploring the South West Coastal path.
Living

Trevail House offers plenty of space to sprawl and relax. The gorgeous sitting room lies next to the kitchen on the first floor and comes complete with two lush velvet sofas, two deep leather chairs and a host of stunning features such as the lovely black marble coffee table, original fireplace and stunning artwork. Next door you'll find the snug or TV room with Loaf sofa, wood burning stove, fluffy bean bags and huge television with Apple TV and full Sky TV film and sports package - perfect for catching up on that Netflix series you've heard about or for the kids to hide away in. On the ground floor there's a handy study space for those who might need to catch up on some work, whilst the lovely garden room is an informal room with fabulous kitchen facilities and a sofa for those who wish to sit inside but watch the world go by on the river. Throughout the house you'll find little spots to hide away for an hour or two - we particularly love the nestled seats on both landings - ideal for a 10-minute break with a magazine or book.

Eating

Wow - you'll find the epic kitchen on the first floor, which will satisfy even the most demanding of chefs! Complete with five-ring gas range cooker, Fisher & Paykel fridge/freezer, wine cooler, Nespresso machine plus lots of other Dualit and KitchenAid equipment and top-quality kitchen and tableware, you'll be able to rustle up feasts like an expert. There's also a host of cookery books to inspire you, and with a plethora of fabulous shops on your doorstep to pick up local goodies, it's just perfect. On the ground floor you'll find a garden kitchen - a great little space for whipping up snacks, cocktails and nibbles - complete with Fisher & Paykel fridge, coffee machine, microwave and cooker. There's even a dumb waiter from the kitchen upstairs for handily transporting things between the two. The Neptune dining table, set in the main kitchen, perfectly seats twelve and looks out over the water and hills beyond, through floor-to-ceiling glass doors which open out on to the decked garden - perfect for letting the sea breeze drift through on hot summery days. You'll also find seating outside for alfresco meals during warmer months.

Sleeping & Bathing

There are four stunning bedrooms to choose from; on the second floor you'll find the master bedroom in gorgeous shades of green with hints of teal, complete with a sumptuous king size bed with velvet throws, cushions, Apple TV and stunning river views to gaze at as you wake up in the mornings - just bliss! It's also en suite, complete with walk in shower and bath - which happens to be the original Bank Manager's bath! The second bedroom is super-pretty with dusky pink hues and a lovely Loaf super-king bed (made for long lie ins), complete with gorgeous velvet throws and cushions, views over the town, fabulously large wardrobe and en suite walk-in shower room. There's a cheery twin room in shades of navy blue with en suite walk-in shower room and on the first floor a bunk room with en suite walk-in shower room and doors leading out onto the garden. Each bedroom has super-luxurious bedding to ensure a fabulous nights' sleep, whilst all the en suite rooms have heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy. In addition, there's a washroom with walk in shower on the ground floor next to the garden room.

Outdoor space

Trevail House has a spectacular decking area overlooking the River Fowey and out to sea. Relax on one of the sun loungers, cluster around the lovely fire pit (which doubles as an ice bucket on hot days) or enjoy long lunches alfresco whilst gazing at the boats and yachts as they sail by, over to the rolling countryside beyond.

WiFi

There is super-strength WiFi throughout the property so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.

Dogs

One dog is very welcome at Trevail House, provided they are kept on the ground floor only. We charge £30 per week or short break.

Parking

There is parking for one car in a private sheltered, security-controlled car park an easy walk away. Additional cars can be parked in the public car parks.

In the Area

Fowey has an excellent choice of places to eat, from Sam's for seafood and steak choices to The Old Quay House for fine dining, right next door to Trevail House. There's also a host of cafes, pubs and tea rooms, plus some brilliant bakeries (why not pop out in the morning and pick up freshly-baked pastries for breakfast?). Water sports enthusiasts might like to try their hand at paddle boarding, kayaking or sailing (you can hire boats from town quay). Nearby Readymoney Cove is a lovely sandy beach you can walk to, whilst nearby Par beach is dog friendly all year. For walkers, join the South West Coastal Path and head in either direction for lovely walks with stunning views, whilst you can catch the ferry over to Polruan which has lots of National Trust land to explore or Station wood, which is just on the edge of town. Further afield is The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Eden Project and Charlestown, most recently made famous by 'Poldark' and the stunning South coast. You might like to head North towards Padstow, the Camel Estuary, Rock and Polzeath for wilder beaches - great for surfing.
