We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Lowartha:

Quite probably the nicest place we have found for a relaxing stay that is still very close to all of the wonderful beaches and areas of Cornwall.

Lowartha is rural heaven! The perfect place for a few nights stay for our minimoon. The retreat literally has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a welcome hamper, which was really lovely. The village store is less than a 10 car drive, they sell everything, so easy to pick up more supplies.

Lowartha’s attention to detail and interiors are just gorgeous, including the copper bath & hot tub, it’s all just perfect, a true gem which one day we’ll return to.

Such a magical, peaceful staycation - just what we needed. An idylic location, a stunning property and we had everything we needed.

Very impressed with the standard of everything. Will definitely be booking again!

Simply beautiful and relaxing. Fully recommend this venue.

Amazing location and accommodation. Hot tub was fantastic!! Bed was so comfortable. Very evident all finer details to make this place an amazing place to stay had been thought of.

We loved our stay. great location the hot tub was fab very relaxing

Very clean & comfortable, appreciated the welcome basket of goodies! Views fantastic from the lounge, like being in a treehouse. Everything you could possibly want, enjoyed the hot tub & beautiful gardens. Definately recommend eating out at Kota Kai in Porthleven & The Ferryboat Inn at Helford Passage, both having fantastic food & views.

An incredible slice of paradise

What an incredible place to stay. Stylish, modern and well located for touring the Cornish south coast. Had a wonderful time and would absolutely book again

With calming countryside views nestled in a lovely corner of Cornwall, staying at Lowartha made our holiday both memorable and without a doubt one of the best. With excellent facilities and greeted with fresh produce, we found it easy to unwind and relax. Whether that was exploring the grounds, taking it easy in the hot tub or basking in the sunshine, it was the perfect escape from our busy lives, just to sit back a while and escape. Absolutely brilliant week. Thank you very much.

Excellent location on the Lizard which we have not visited much before. The build, design and detail were superb , really unique .Loved it . A very original and delightful stay

Wow, what a Stunning building made to a very high spec. set within beautiful gardens and the hot tub was so relaxing in an evening. Such a calm setting with fabulous views. We had a amazing time and our dog loved exploring the gardens and beyond. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise too. A week just wasn't long enough to enjoy all this place has to offer. We would love to go back.

Luxury getaway, perfect for a couples / honeymoon, would highly recommend

Stunning property in a secluded location surrounded by a beautiful stream, forest and wildlife. The owners have provided everything you’ll need to enjoy your stay. No expense spared!

Coco, our dog didn’t want to leave!

This cottage has the WOW factor it’s absolutely stunning ! The garden area is extensive and beautiful, I just kept soaking up the views here constantly. We used Home Spa Cornwall which offers lots of different treatments and was bliss having a treatment with the backdrop of beautiful tress and gardens. The sound of the owls at night was magical and every single thing about the interior was gorgeous! Met Kim the owner who is so lovely nothing too much trouble if there’s any issues . This place does what it says on the box it is a retreat and it’s a fantastic reviving one and simply the best place we’ve ever stayed in , we sort of wished we had a dog because they would also be in their element! Enjoy !

This was our second magical stay at Lowartha and we just love it so much. As soon as you leave your car you are gently taken into the peaceful soundscape and retreat of Lowartha. It’s such an escape, we will keep returning.

Very relaxing cottage with amazing grounds and remote peaceful views. Interiors beautifully done and really well equipped. Wonderful bath in the window to soak up the views and huge comfy bed. Walter our dog enjoyed avidly watching squirrels and ducks and splashing in the stream. The wonderful host was so good at communicating and when a tiny problem arose with a radiator responded immediately. Kim sorted it and left us some gifts too which was so kind as it really wasn't a big issue on top of a wonderful hamper and dog treats/towel/bowls and throws. We loved our break and exploring a new part of Cornwall and highly recommend.. Excellent cottage and host.

Wonderful place and a wonderful stay

Absolutely beautiful

Despite the weather being a little grey, we fell in love with the place. From relaxing in the hot tub, exposed to nature, to sipping red wine in front of the log burner during the evening – this house has it all. Beautifully designed from top to bottom, we (us two and the dog) didn’t want to go home. Stocked with most, if not all, utensils, equipment and other items you will require, we rested safe in the knowledge that any assistance was merely a call/text away – a superhost on the other end. We ended up changing our plans in Cornwall to stay at the house for an extra evening. HOUSE GOALS.

Celebrating my wife’s 30th birthday, we used Lowartha as a base to visit Falmouth, Porthleven and St. Ives – the abundance of cute shops, fabulous restaurants and pubs was welcomed.

The welcome pack when you arrive covers anything else you need to know. Enjoy your stay, we did.

A beautiful retreat in a tranquil, secluded location perfect as a romantic hideaway or a great base for exploring the Helford river and Lizard Peninsula

Lowartha is really an extremely special place. Wonderful eco-cabin in the woods feel with beautiful design and attention to detail all throughout the cottage. We had a throughly peaceful and rejuvenating stay, walking in the extensive woods, sitting by the fire, soaking in the amazing copper bath inside and the hot tub outside looking at the stars and listening to the owls at night. We visited Lizard point, St Michaels Mount, Kynance Cove and other outstanding beauty spots which were all in close proximity by car. Kim is a great host, responsive, kind and considerate. It was a great way for us to start the New Year! Looking forward to visiting again in the summertime when Lowartha is sure to be even more spectacular.

Lowartha is absolutely stunning and perfect in every way, there are so many lovely little touches, the location is idyllic, secluded amongst the countryside and nature. We generally wouldn’t return to the same place again, but the best compliment we can give Lowartha is we would absolutely love to stay here again as we would struggle to find anywhere as perfect. As well as the property being absolutely perfect, we had a lovely welcome basket including treats for our dogs, a truly perfect experience.

Beautiful property set in the most tranquil place!! The large open plan living room is fabulous, you feel like you’re floating in amongst the trees themselves. The addition of the fireplace makes it so cosy & warm. The bedroom is so unique, a super comfortable retreat at the end of each day. The garden is stunning, it’s so large that you don’t need to venture far with dogs in the cold months. The hot tub is the icing on the cake come rain or shine. Perfect retreat, thank you so much Amy & the Boutiques Retreat Team - my mum & I had the most relaxing time!!!

Lowartha is a little slice of heaven. The views of the trees from the house are simply breathtaking and so are the grounds surrounding the property. It was like going to a retreat, we especially enjoyed the relaxing noise of the river and looking at the starts from the hot tub at night. Everything inside and out feels luxurious and we wanted for nothing. Probably the best house we’ve ever stayed at in the UK! Everything was just perfect, thank you for having us. We are already planning our return trip!

Lowartha is full of magic and we cannot express how much we enjoyed this sanctuary in sufficient words. The woodland gardens and planting are sublime. Watching the local bird of prey do her rounds from the hot tub at twilight was heavenly. This is not a place you use as a base to explore; this is the place you explore. We cannot wait to come back.

Lowartha is a beautiful place to stay. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Kim was very helpful. We had a great honeymoon staying in this beautiful house.

We had the most amazing week in Cornwall in October, the house and location exceeded our expectation's. The ultimate place to get away from it all with absolutely everything you could need at the house and an incredible welcome pack from the host.

We enjoyed the hot tub, relaxing to the sound of running water from the stream. Warming up by the fire after long walks on the coast and watching all of the fantastic nature through the windows. Waking up to squirrels was a real highlight for us and the dogs!

The local village shop is adorable and has such a good variety of local produce. There’s also SO many incredible foodie spots locally and plenty of dog friendly beaches to spend your mornings exploring.

We booked Home Spa Cornwall, who deliver spa services to your holiday let - couldn’t recommend this more and the setting of the house is perfect for a spa treatment!

We can’t wait to book again and would love to come back to stay in different seasons! But as cosy autumnal stays go - I don’t think you can beat this one!

The host Kim is fab and happy to help with any request.

The property and setting couldn’t have been more perfect. We were blessed with mostly fine late September weather but the rainy days were just as nice because the property is so cosy, beautifully decorated and equipped. So many reading spots looking out on to wild but managed Cornish woodland. We relaxed the minute we arrived and didn’t want to leave.

Could not believe how impressed we were this retreat. Took our breath away as we pulled up and parked, surpassed expectation on every level. Stream running through garden and woods attached, perfect for dogs and to walk through. Hot tub ready with fire as we arrived, drained and refilled for every stay. Beautifully laid out house, well fitted kitchen, every extra you could think of included. Fresh bread, milk, butter, coffee and even a bottle of wine in the fridge. You feel as if you’re miles from anywhere nestled in the woods, the perfect relaxing getaway, can’t wait to book again. Met Kim as we left as were running late and she couldn’t have been any kinder or more helpful. Clearly very hands on and involved as she was cleaning the hot tub as we pulled away. 10/10. Could not fault.

If you are looking for just a base for your Cornwall trip, Lowartha is not for you! It’s so much more! It’s a place where you want to spend time! We were blown away from the minute we arrived! Set in mature private woodland, with its clever design, home comforts and beautiful interior, we just didn’t want to leave! So peaceful, waking only to birdsong and settling down for the evening with only the beautiful sound of owls cutting the peaceful night. The wood fire hot tub was a real treat and the perfect ending to a day spent exploring. We stumbled across a real gem when we came across Lowartha and already planning our return! Hope
