Water's Edge is where luxury meets laid-back coastal living, with interiors that give a nod and a wink to its seaside heritage whilst offering all the benefits of a boutique hotel, combined with the privacy and welcoming atmosphere of a home stay - just perfect!
Situated on the dramatic coastline between Newquay and Padstow and just a short walk from Mawgan Porth beach, this is the perfect base from which to discover - or rediscover - your inner wild child.
Building works
Please note, internal building work will be taking place adjacent to Water's Edge until the end of May 2025. For any inconvenience caused, a 10% discount has been applied for all stays during this time.
On weekdays, no building work will be completed before 8am or after 4:30pm, with the occasional work completed on Saturdays until 1pm.

Living
With lots of space to sprawl out in, you'll never feel crowded at Water's Edge. The stunning sitting room has a glorious wood burner at its heart, making it the go-to spot for cooler months, whilst in the summer whilst floor-to-ceiling windows let in plenty of light. We just love the plumptious sofas and chairs, the perfect gathering spot at the end of the day, to sit and chatter away until the early hours, with a drink in hand. If you want to catch up on your favourite box set, there's a Smart TV with Sky for quiet evenings in.
In addition, there's a fabulous games room with two leather sofas, Smart TV with Sky, Xbox and a bar with fridge, bottle fridge, coffee machine and kettle. In the kitchen to the front, there's a nest of two chairs and a table, perfect for gazing out to sea with a morning coffee or perhaps afternoon tea for two.
Eating
As befitting this magnificent retreat, the kitchen is just incredible and fully equipped with everything you'll need to feed your hungry loved ones. At its heart is the large Falcon oven with gas hob, whilst there's an American double fridge freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine and all the other appliances and kitchenware you can think of for rustling up feasts.
In front of the kitchen lies the large dining table that comfortably seats ten, whilst slide open the glass door to the front and step outside where you'll discover the fabulous Oakastone table and chairs overlooking the magnificent Mawgan Porth Beach - the perfect setting for summery days, or wrapped up in blankets at night watching the moon rise and the stars emerge over the ever-undulating sea - just magic!
There is also a boot room, home to a Miele washer dryer.
Sleeping and bathing
There are five exceptional bedrooms to choose from.
The master en suite bed lies up in the eaves of the house, with magnificent, vaulted windows overlooking the sea. The beautiful super king bed is just made for long, lazy lie ins whilst the fitted wardrobes offer plenty of storage space. There's a dressing table, two occasional chairs, chest of drawers and the most glorious en suite, complete with immense walk-in shower and ginormous rainfall shower head. In addition, there's a lovely bathtub for two, perfect for long soaks.
Three of the bedrooms are on the first floor.
The second en suite master bedroom has a cosy king bed and boasts floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a sliding door that opens out onto the deck overlooking the sea, plus comfy chairs to lounge on and a desk. The en suite is a luxurious shower room.
The third bedroom has a comfy double bed, with sliding doors that also lead out on to the deck with gorgeous views out to sea.
The fourth bedroom is a delightful twin with a wardrobe, TV and a window overlooking the deck and out to sea.
The fifth bedroom is situated on the upper ground floor and has twin beds. This room has a gorgeous chinoiserie, TV and en suite shower room.
All of the bedrooms come swathed in luxurious linens, throws and cushions to ensure a blissful nights' sleep.
In addition, there's a family bathroom with separate shower on the first floor, a shower in the boot room and a hot shower outside, perfect for washing sandy feet! Each bath and shower room has heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
With simply breath-taking views over Mawgan Porth beach and out so sea, the garden at Water's Edge is simply divine, with the babbling waters of the stream running alongside it as your soundtrack. As mentioned, the top deck leading directly from the house has a wonderful outside eating area, whilst the upper deck houses two sun loungers, chairs and a table, plus a two-seater sofa - the perfect spot for lazy sunny afternoons with a cocktail or two in hand. There's also a fab lawned area which little ones will love. Step through the gate and you'll join the coastal path that leads down to the beach - just perfect.
Parking
There's private parking for up to three cars.
Babies and children
Little ones are most welcome at Water's Edge. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.
Dogs
Water's Edge is a pet free property.

Water's Edge has WiFi so if you need to stay in contact with the outside world you can.
In the Area
Situated on the spectacular north Cornish coast, you're perfectly positioned to explore this iconic part of Cornwall, from Padstow, Rock and the Camel Estuary to the east and St Agnes, Holywell Bay and Crantock to the west. From the retreat itself its an easy walk to The Scarlet, where you can treat yourself to amazing spa treatments and enjoy a meal or two in its fabulous restaurant. Water sport lovers will adore the many beaches that line the coast - Mawgan Porth is on your doorstep whilst Newquay and the surrounding area is famous for its surfing community. The Bedruthan Steps are a jaw-dropping natural phenomenon, whilst walkers can take to the South West Coastal path for some of the most scenic views imaginable. Padstow is a short drive away and a must for foodies, whilst the Camel Estuary is just beautiful - why not hire bikes for the day and explore the Camel Trail towards Wadebridge? Head inland and you'll discover wild, rugged Bodmin Moor with its hauntingly beautiful countryside, whilst neighbouring Cardinham has fantastic woods which offer a peaceful escape.
