Follow the path uphill between flower-bedecked cottages and you'll find the glorious Horizon, perfectly perched above the hustle and bustle of everyday village life. Slip your shoes off by the door and you enter a world of calm where this incredible home awaits you. In sea-evoking shades of blues and whites and with an industrial-come-beach chic design, this is a gorgeous retreat where even the smallest detail has been considered. It's the jaw-dropping view which really is the cherry on the sundae though; being perched so high, you have possibly the best view - overlooking the higgledy-piggledy rooftops, the harbour and out to sea - with St Michael's Mount in the distance. Hello holiday heaven.

When Horizon Cottage is booked for two guests this is on the basis that only the master bedroom is used during your stay. This only applies outside of peak weeks and school holidays.

Living

With an upside-down approach to make the most of the views, the living space is upstairs. Two sofas and two swivel chairs are ideally positioned in front of the astonishing vista, where floor-to-ceiling windows can be opened to let the salty sea breeze in whilst you lounge. In cooler months, keep the window closed, wrap yourself in one of the super-soft throws and light the huge wood burning stove and watch the stormy waves and wheeling seagulls or pop on the Sony 4K HD Smart TV WIFI enabled with free Netflix and all other streaming services and enjoy a good movie - with hot chocolate in hand, or something a little stronger.

Eating

The bespoke kitchen lies to the back of the house. With gorgeously rich copper work tops, dark blue cupboards and whitewashed brick walls, this is a super-stylish kitchen that even Nigella would be proud to use. However this isn't a kitchen that has style over substance - it's filled to the brim with everything you might need to cook your favourite dishes whilst all the appliances are neatly integrated. There's even an American style fridge-freezer with chilled water and ice maker, coffee machine (for those mornings when only caffeine will do) and a host of vintage kitchen equipment on display. We particularly love the cupboard with built in spice rack and fab lighting. The dining table - sturdily wooden - lies next to the kitchen and easily seats up to ten people.

Sleeping

Three sumptuous bedrooms await - two downstairs and one upstairs. The master bedroom is downstairs to the front of the house to make the most of the gorgeous views. French shutters provide privacy, adding a French colonial feel to the room whilst the king sized bed, bedecked in swathes of turquoise, green and white, perfectly offset the rich teal headboard. Next door is a super-cute, cosy room with garden views which can be either a double or twin - we love the unusual knitted wool mural on the wall! Upstairs, there's a further en-suite double room tucked away to the back, complete with a unique map mural, brilliant built in storage and garden views.

Bathing

The downstairs shower room has a real New York loft feel to it with exposed brick-effect walls and industrial style fittings and comes complete with a walk in shower (with bespoke glass divider). Upstairs, the en suite also has a walk-in shower with incredible tiling.

Outside space

Unusual for Mousehole, Horizon comes with a spacious, enclosed tiered garden and a hot tub. Copper lights lead you up the cobbled path to a gorgeous terrace area with the fabulous hot tub, bags of seating for sundowners and BBQ. Perfect for relaxing in and whiling away an afternoon, it's even better at night where you can watch the moon rise over the sea and the twinkling lights of the village, boats and stars above. Handily, close to the house there's an outdoor hose-down area - perfect for washing down sandy wetsuits or muddy dogs after a long walk.

Parking

The two quayside car parks are just a few minutes' walk away, there is a larger car park at the entrance to the village and there is free parking on the approach to the village too.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Horizon Cottage:

The decor is beautiful, with high-end appliances and really clear instructions on how to use everything and incredible view from the hot tub! We really loved the place.

A stunning cottage , very stylishly decorated , comfortable and probably the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in . The highlight ofcourse are the picture perfect views out to the harbour and sea

It was a wonderful place to stay. It was a dream. Watching the sea from window!! And the hot tub was awesome!!! The beds were so comfy! The whole place was just perfect

A comfortable cottage perfectly situated for beautiful views and a relaxing getaway. We particularly enjoyed the wall window that opened entirely giving us a sense of being outside without leaving the living room.

Thank you

You will never tire of being in Mousehole and this cottage gives you one of the best views I am sure.

Location, house and garden were superb

What a wonderful place to stay! It felt like we were staying in a hotel. The incredible views are well worth the steep climb up to the house. The house is very well equipped with everything we needed and the welcome basket was excellent. The beds are extremely comfortable and the extras like bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. The house is in a great location and just a short walk to all the restaurants and shops in Mousehole. Even in Autumn, it was wonderful to enjoy the sea views from the Juliet balcony and the hot tub!

A perfect location for exploring the area with amazing views and sunrise from the picture window out to sea. Simply stunning.

It was a great cottage and we had a lovely week.

The position of the cottage is truly wonderful and views out over the harbour and St Michael’s Mount spectacular. The sitting room doors open up completely making you feel as if you’re outside. The village, little beaches, shops, pub and restaurants are all within a 3 minute walk but the cottage itself wonderfully peaceful and slightly removed from the hustle and bustle below.

A beautiful spot to stay

Wow just Wow!! Nothing more to say ! Amazing

We felt relaxed and calm after our lovely stay at horizon cottage, all our needs were met in this well equipped home. The furnishings are exquisite with a sea view to match. Highly recommend

Fabulous cottage in a remarkable spot. Literally just sit back in one of the swivel chairs and look at the forever changing view out to see and St Micheals mount. Magic!

we had just the best escape in pure luxury were the owners have created a fantastic retreat to an extremally high standards and they have thought of every detail, even dog treats and bowls as we took our two bichons which was a bonus to find such a great place that accepted dogs and along with a great views and location within Mousehole with some great places to eat and visit we had a truly relaxing stay and hope to return again soon.

The views across the harbour are fantastic and the open plan kitchen/living space is super comfy…..not least the swivel chairs!

A horizon haven to sit and watch the harbour below. Beautiful sunrises enjoyed in a wonderfully decorated retreat.

Fabulous house with amazing views and a great hot tub for relaxing.

Fabulous spot in idyllic village of Mousehole with spectacular view. Perfect cottage for adults and teenagers who like their own space at times. The cottage has been renovated with an expert eye and makes best use of the space available on all levels with good quality fitments throughout. The hot tub and the garden were definite added bonuses we were very grateful for in amongst Mousehole's quaint hillside village dwellings.

Lovely property in a gorgeous village with the most stunning view. Even on dull days the view was still amazing.

Great cottage with idyllic views with plenty to watch in the harbour. Very comfortable.

Amazing cottage, decorated beautifully in a stunning location. Haven’t stopped recommending it to family and friends.

Beautiful location, incredible view, the most amazing stay for my husbands birthday!
