With floor to ceiling windows, open plan living and extraordinary vistas, Rock View feels light and airy throughout, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Boasting four bedrooms and four bath/shower rooms, there's plenty of space for everyone to not only come together but to enjoy moments of quietude on your own, whilst the large communal spaces are just perfect for treasured mealtimes and simply to spend time in each other's company.

Rock View also has plenty of outdoor space, so you can make the most of the stunning views across the Camel Estuary to Rock. Nestled in a pretty hamlet, this stunning dog-friendly home stay is perfect for exploring the wilds of North Cornwall.

Living

Taking a reversed-living approach to make the most of the jaw-dropping views, the living area and kitchen can be found upstairs. With slate flooring throughout, this roomy open plan space includes a roaring wood burner for cooler evenings, a huge, luxurious grey leather sofa (big enough for everyone to sprawl out on), a large Smart TV/DVD player with Sky package and a SONOS system - you can also access Spotify from the in house iPad. Downstairs you'll find a gorgeous snug, with French doors leading to the lower outside area. This is a lovely spot to while away an hour or two with your favourite book or maybe even a sneaky snooze, or some of your group might like their own space to watch films on the Smart TV which also has a Sky package and a DVD player.

Sleeping

There are four beautifully furnished ground floor bedrooms, three of which are en suite, and one has use of the family bathroom. Each is individual in decor, but all are to an exceptional standard with lovely linens, soft furnishings and original artwork - perfect for a restful sleep at the end of a busy day exploring. Each bedroom is fitted with it's own air conditioning for those summery evenings.

Bedroom one with a bay window boasts a spacious super king size bed and en suite shower-room. Bedroom two is a light, airy room with a super king size Loaf bed and has use of the family bathroom. Bedroom three has a handy zip-and-link bed which means it can be made up as a super king size bed or twin beds and has an en suite shower room. The fourth super king bedroom with four poster bed benefits from doors leading outside, a large dressing room and an en suite with a bathtub for two and a shower. It also leads into the snug.

Bathing

There are three en suites; two shower rooms with walk-in showers with drench-head shower and heated towel rails, and one en suite with shower and sumptuous bathtub for two. The family bathroom boasts a fabulous free-standing roll-top bath for long, luxurious soaks as well as a walk-in shower and heated towel rail. All have plenty of storage space, plentiful hot water and soft, fluffy towels. In addition, there is a cloakroom upstairs.

Eating

A stunning bespoke kitchen awaits the budding chef with beautiful white worktops, Farrow and Ball painted duck egg blue cabinets and all the gadgets and equipment you'll need to rustle up a feast including a full complement of Cornishware (naturally!). The La Canche oven is in the heart of the kitchen, plus there is a Miele oven and microwave. We love the large kitchen island which includes a wine fridge and doubles up as a place prep your food - or to rest a wine glass! Trevear Farm produce their own meat, which is available to buy on site.

To the front you can open the huge bi-folding glass door which leads out to a huge, decked terrace - perfect for bringing the outside in during hotter months and which also is home to a fabulous dining table and chairs and gas BBQ for alfresco meals.

In addition, you'll find the more formal dining area in the living space with stunning 180-degree views from the floor to ceiling windows which can also be opened in warmer weather.

There's a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble drier plus lots of extra storage space.

Outside space

Set overlooking acres of rolling Cornish countryside leading down to the Camel estuary, there's plenty of space to explore and roam around. Wrapping around the house is the beautiful sun deck that leads off the kitchen with steps that take you down to the enclosed outside area. Beyond this are pretty landscaped garden areas with a pond nearby. The decking area comes complete with a gas barbeque, table and chairs - just what's needed to settle down for a day in the sunshine. The extensive grounds include use of a paddock shared with Lowen, the owner's neighbouring retreat. There is a lockable, under cover bike store in case you would like to explore the Camel Trail cycleway during your stay.

Facilities

Rock View has everything you could wish for in your home away home. In the kitchen you'll find a Nespresso machine with Aeroccino milk frother and a selection of pods, dishwasher, wine fridge, American fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, La Canche oven and gas hob, and a microwave. The utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. In the main lounge there is a Smart TV with Sky package and DVD player, use of an iPad mini and Sonos system. In the garden room there's another Smart TV with Sky package and DVD player. In addition, there's two travel cots, highchair and a fixed stairgate at the top of the stairs. There's underfloor heating throughout. Extensive landscaped grounds including a large pond (please take care with young children) mainly open plan and laid to lawn with mature shrub borders. Panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and estuary. First floor decked area overlooking grounds with garden furniture and gas BBQ, lower outside area with garden furniture and sun loungers.

Exploring

Rock View commands a fabulous position overlooking the Camel estuary across to Rock. There's plenty to do in this fantastic area - Old Town Cove lies at the bottom of the lane which leads on to the Camel Trail where cyclists and walkers enjoy the fantastic scenery along the estuary. In approximately 45 minutes you can walk into Padstow, loved by such chefs as Rick Stein, Nathan Outlaw and Paul Ainsworth and is perfect for a bite to eat, or hop on the boat and pop over to Rock and maybe a trip to Sharp's, Rock's very own brewery.

The house stands on the edge of a small hamlet found along a quiet farm lane leading down to the Camel Estuary and in the other direction to the village of St. Issey and two public houses. The Camel Trail, just down the lane follows the route of the old railway line - it's a two mile meander to Padstow or three miles to Wadebridge. The Camel Estuary, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a lovely spot and full of pathways to explore by foot or by bike (which you can hire at Padstow) alongside the water or through the stunning dunes. The Sir John Betjeman Walk is particularly beautiful, or just take to The Camel Trail. If water is more your thing, there's a plethora of watersports or if you'd like to try your hand at fishing, there's fishing trips to be booked from Ferry point at Rock where you can catch mackerel, bass and even shark. Beach-wise, you're spoilt for choice with seven located around the Padstow area and one across the way at Rock. If you bring your golf clubs, there's St Enodoc and Trevose nearby too.

Our luxury dog friendly retreat for eight near Padstow is a dream. It has beautiful sea views and it's ideally located to explore the beaches of north Cornwall.
