Hidden away down a country lane in the heart of Cornwall, Bucklebury perfectly blends rustic charm and oh-so-chic, luxurious interiors, creating a homestay that's simply perfect for couples or for those seeking an idyllic escape for one. Showcasing a love of botanicals, fresh greens and soft whites run throughout the house along with underfloor heating on the ground floor. Windows and bi-fold doors give panoramic views over the glorious countryside, whilst tip-top furnishings ensure you'll be oh-so-comfy. Highlights include the swoon-worthy bedroom with floor-to-ceiling window, incredible kitchen (whether you're the chef or you hire someone to do it!) and spacious garden, complete with bubbling hot tub.
Situated in a tiny hamlet setting on the edge of beautifully wild Bodmin Moor, the setting is blissfully rural with just the sound of birdsong and the odd tractor from the neighbouring farm. If you can bear to tear yourself away from Bucklebury, there's plenty to see and do, having easy access to both the south and north Cornish coast.
Living
Just wow! This delightful space imbues complete serenity, from the natural greens and white tones throughout to the carefully considered décor. We love the plump Loaf sofa, cleverly positioned to overlook the bi-fold glass windows that open out over the garden and countryside beyond. This is a perfect place to laze away a sleepy afternoon together, letting the warm summer's breeze gently stir within. During cooler months, hunker down with the roaring wood burner and cuddle up amongst the throws and cushions and catch up on your favourite box set on the Smart TV. In addition, there's a separate occasional chair for when you want a quiet moment with a good book.
Eating
The fabulous, surprisingly spacious kitchen is just a pleasure to cook in with vaulted ceiling and countryside views. Taking the steps up from the sitting room, we love the dark green cabinets and contrasting white worktops, plus the cosy bult-in seating area, perfect for relaxing and watching the cook at work! In addition, there's a central island which provides lots of working space for the budding chef. This kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, with an electric range-effect cooker with two ovens and separate grill, striking black retro-style fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine and all the other essentials you might need, including the all-important Nespresso coffee machine to help you wake up in the morning.
The cute dining table lies to the back of the sitting room, the perfect setting for meals à deux next to the flickering warmth of the wood burner, whilst the central kitchen island has a breakfast bar for meals on the go. There's also a table and chairs outside for meals al fresco during warmer months.
Sleeping
Take the stairs up to the glorious bedroom, where the floor-to-ceiling window is just breath-taking and offers stunning views across the pretty garden to the rolling Cornish countryside beyond. Swathed in sumptuous Egyptian linens, soft bedding, cushions, merino throws and White Company sheepskins, the king-sized Loaf bed is just a dream, where long lie-ins and breakfast in bed are a requisite, gazing out over that view. In addition, there's a chest of drawers and wall hanging space for clothes and a pretty bench at the end of the bed.
Bathing
The en suite bathroom boasts a sumptuously deep freestanding bath for two, perfect for long soaks. On the ground floor there's a wet room, ideal for cooling down after a day's exploring. Both come complete with heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy, whilst divinely cosy robes are provided too.
Outside space
Step outside the front door the terrace area and you'll find a small table and two chairs around the corner on the lower level - this lovely spot catches the late afternoon/evening sun and is lit at night to set the mood - perfect for twilight meals alfresco. In addition, there's a stone table and seat which is set in the cutest area ever, ideal for morning coffee or a leisurely breakfast as it catches the morning sun. In addition, a bubbling hot tub awaits, perfectly positioned to enjoy the starry nights. Both of these areas are completely priviate for your own use.
Should you wish to use the lawn to the front of the property, the owners will of course respect your privacy.
