This seriously sweet cottage is perfect for couples and smaller families alike. Nestled in a pretty village between Lyme Regis and Dorchester, this home stay is a must for those seeking the best of the county and the coast, with lovely views over the Bride Valley.
With underfloor heating throughout and gorgeously natural décor, this is a calming, tranquil escape that boasts fabulous outdoor space and a garden room too.
Living
The cosy sitting room is just perfect to relax in at the end of a busy day exploring. The glorious wood burner is the heart of the room, whilst the cosy green sofa is made for curling up on with a good book. There are two additional chairs whilst there's a Smart TV for film nights or indulging in your favourite box sets.
Eating
The sweetly simple galley kitchen is equipped with all the essentials to make the most of the delicious local produce Dorset has to offer. There's an electric oven with induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, butler's sink and all the cooking equipment you'll need. The round dining table seats four - perfect for mealtime - whilst there's outside dining too during the summer months.
In addition, you'll find the washing machine in the utility area.
Sleeping
There are two gorgeous bedrooms to choose from. The master bedroom with en suite shower room has a wonderfully-comfy super king size bed swathed in White Company bedding and Egyptian cotton sheets, with wonderful views over fields and the hills beyond - the perfect spot for breakfast in bed. The second bedroom has a pretty king size bed with bright Scandinavian furniture and great country views too.
Bathing
As well as the en suite shower room (with power shower) for the master bedroom, there's a family bathroom with hand - held shower. Both have heated rails to ensure towels are kept warm and fluffy. There's also an additional loo downstairs.
Outside Space
There's plenty of outside space, with an idyllic cobbled stone garden room just across the quaint country lane, leading on to a south facing patio with dreamy countryside views. Here you'll find a dining table and four chairs, a barbeque and two sun loungers, all perfectly curated for feasting al fresco or cosied up in the garden room.
Discover use of the tennis court at the nearby Old Rectory; a short stroll away through a quaint English garden with an abundance of beautiful roses! Parking
There's private parking and a garage for cars just across the lane from the property.
Babies and children
Due to the property's close proximity to very deep ponds, Fernleigh Cottage isn't suitable for children between the ages of 1-12 years. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request for little ones, but please bring your own bedding for the cot.

In the Area
Set in the pretty village of Litton Cheney, this verdant, beautiful part of Dorset is brim-full of gorgeous countryside to explore whilst also handily near the stunning coast too.
By the sea, stretching between Lyme Regis and Weymouth, lies the Jurassic coast - a World Heritage site and with much to visit such as the impressive Chesil Beach (great for fossil hunting), the many picturesque villages such as Seatown and Abbotsbury and the incredibly beautiful Charmouth Beach.
Take to the South West Coastal Path for incredible walks with jaw-dropping views.
Lyme Regis is a must-visit with its Cobb and harbour, made famous by The French Lieutenant's Woman, whilst there's fab places to eat such as Mark Hix's Oyster and Fish House.
Bridport is a gorgeous market town surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful coast and countryside, with lovely walks in the surrounding area, an abundance of places to eat and their famous markets to explore. Bridport is also the host for several lively events throughout the year, including festivals celebrating food, literary and even hats!
Nearby, the coastal harbour village of West Bay is a must-visit, plus the home of popular TV programme Broadchurch. Here you'll discover an array of things to do, from delectable eateries to inspiring art galleries. Burton Bradstock is just a short drive away, perfect for beach strolls; not forgetting a visit to the renowned Hive Beach Cafe for hot chocolates or The Seaside Boarding House for a bite to eat and a few cocktails for good measure!
A little further away is the county town of Dorchester, a lively, vibrant town filled with history and great things to do such as visit their many museums, explore the Roman ruins and maybe indulge in a little retail therapy.
