3 Bedrooms (Sleeps 6 + cot)
Surrounded by rolling verdant countryside and set in a picture-perfect village, Pennycress offers a warm welcome to those seeking a bolt hole away from it all, yet also just over two hours from London.
Step inside and you'll discover a home where Cotswold stone lies at ease with reclaimed oak, where underfloor heating and a wood burning stove keep you cosy on colder days, whilst bi-fold doors lead out on to the patio for hot summer days. With stunning vaulted ceilings and exquisite décor that beautifully compliments this historic home, a holiday here will leave you relaxed and at ease - and the bubbling hot tub outside will help, too!
Ideally located close to Cheltenham, Cirencester and the heart of the Cotswolds, there's plenty to see and do here, whether it's exploring the pretty market towns, walking the Cotswold Way, picnicking on one of the hilly outcrops, losing yourself in a leafy wood or imbibing in a country pub, you'll never want for things to do.
Living
Originally the old milking parlour, the gorgeous open-plan living and dining room is oh-so-spacious and bright with a vaulted ceiling, oak beams and exposed Cotswold stone gable walls. The sumptuous oak floor benefits from underfloor heating meaning toes will be kept cosy during cooler months. At one end you'll discover a corner sofa nestled around the flickering wood burner, perfect for socialising and relaxing after busy day out exploring the Cotswolds, whilst a Smart TV is on hand for film nights.
The dining table lies at the other end of this room and is hand made from the original oak roof beams taken out during the restoration, a fabulous way to let the heritage of such an amazing house live on for years to come, and a wonderful spot for mealtimes. There's also a large bifold glass door that opens on to the south facing patio, meaning you can bring the outside in on hot summer days. This is a spectacular spot for stargazing, and the property has its own telescope.
Eating
The kitchen, chic and inviting with navy cupboards, white worktops and vaulted ceiling, is designed for a sociable evening cooking, with the hob arranged so that guests relaxing with a drink on the bar stools can chat face to face with the chef as they cook. Full of all the essentials needed to rustle up a feast, there's an induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and all in one washer/dryer hidden away. In addition, there's a Nespresso coffee machine and a wine fridge is tucked away to the side of the bar stools.
Sleeping
There are three gorgeous bedrooms to choose from.
The master ensuite bedroom has a blissfully comfy king-sized wrought iron bed, with a door that leads directly out on to the patio. With shelving set into the exposed Cotswold stone wall, chest of drawers and dressing table, this is a charming room with ensuite shower room.
The second bedroom also boasts a king-sized bed, this time oak framed and looking over double doors leading out on to the patio. This room also has a stunning feature wall and there's hanging space, a dressing table, and an occasional chair too.
The third room is a delightful bunk bedroom, especially designed with little ones in mind. With three single beds, it's possible to add in a third child too if need be. We just love the school desks and the ladder up to the third bed!
Bathing
As well as the gorgeous en suite shower room for the master bedroom, there's a family bathroom complete with freestanding, roll top bathtub for two and a large walk-in shower with rainfall head.
Outside space
Outside, you'll discover a lovely lawned garden, perfect for children to play games on. In addition, there's a fantastic patio area complete with bubbling hot tub and a Bramblecrest outdoor sofa and adjustable table that can be lowered for drinks and raised for outside dining and an umbrella to offer shade on the sunniest of days. For balmy dips in every season with a glass in hand, you'll find a hot tub too.

In the Area
Ideally situated close to the large towns of Cheltenham and Cirencester, there's so much to see and do from this heavenly home. Both towns have lots to offer; Cirencester dates to the Romans and is a quaint town with fabulous independent shops, the Corinium Museum, and places to eat. Cheltenham is a splendid Georgian spa town with great shopping and excellent restaurants. Head into the heart of the Cotswolds and explore the pretty villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Burford and Winchcombe to name but a few, and there are plenty of trails and paths that offer extraordinary views, winding rivers and ancient woodlands. Children and adults alike will love the Cotswold Farm Park and Burford Wildlife Park, whilst nearby Chedworth Roman Villa offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and the gorgeous gardens at Miserden are peaceful and spectacular. You're also not far from the dreaming spires of Oxford for a great day out, and the medieval town of Tewkesbury with its historic Abbey is well worth a visit.
