Exquisitely designed across four beautiful floors, each space exudes understated elegance and offers a peaceful haven in which to gather and unwind. Pursue leisurely adventures and explore the network of picturesque streets on the doorstep of this former bank, dipping in and out of boutiques, bistros, and bars. Or venture further afield for rural reveries amongst the verdant countryside of Gloucestershire. From the county town of Cheltenham renowned for its world-famous racecourse and the historic cathedral city of Gloucester, to the ancient Forest of Dean, embrace storybook moments in all seasons.
Living
Step through the welcoming porchway to be greeted by the entrance of Bank House, where a snug with an antique desk, chinoiserie, and Ercol bench invites slow moments. A lovingly converted former bank, the spellbinding interiors lead to a choice of beautiful spaces repurposed for utmost luxury. Head upstairs to the first floor to find an open-plan living area overlooking Fairford's market square. Beckoning for repose, handmade sofas from Bampton Design gather around an antique coffee table, illuminated by Pooky lamps and overlooked by curated Neptune artwork. Settle into one of the sofas with your latest read or enjoy the Smart TV, Xbox, and Alexa, or relax in the windowseat to gaze at the world outside with a glass of something delicious in hand. For further entertainment, take the steps down from the ground floor to uncover the former bank vault, a cosy space transformed into an atmospheric cinema room with a velvet sofa, TV, and Xbox.
Eating and dining
Residing on the first floor, the open-plan kitchen and dining room flow from the living area to create a heavenly space to gather throughout the day. Adorned in cinnamon hues and finished with bespoke cabinetry in shell tones, this divine space has everything you need for crafting delicious feasts, such as a Bosch oven, Montpellier fridge-freezer, Smeg slow cooker, Quooker hot water tap, DeLonghi coffee machine, and more. Prepare flavoursome repasts and gather in the adjoining dining area, where a teak Monastery table awaits with six oak bistro chairs, perfect for breakfast banquets and evening feasts.
Sleeping and bathing
Bank House features two bedrooms and an exquisite family bathroom, each residing on the second floor.
Irresistible for serene slumber, the first bedroom nestles within the eaves and features a sumptuous super king bed that can be transformed into two singles upon request. Decorated with a Bampton Design headboard and illuminated by OKA side lamps, it is enswathed in the finest linens and topped with comfortable pillows and throws for the sweetest repose.
The second bedroom also features a super king bed that can be converted into two singles upon requirement, resting beneath characterfully sloping beams. An antique chest of drawers and Cox & Cox dressing table provide space to stow treasures, while picturesque garden views are framed by the window, enjoyed from the cosy cocoon of bed.
Also found on the second floor, the bathroom features beautifully contrasting marble and wood. A walk-in rainfall shower promises refreshing self-care, while a heated towel rail ensures the warmest, fluffiest embrace.
Outside space
In the sheltered courtyard garden of Bank House, an outdoor dining table rests beneath a wooden pergola draped in flowering clematis. With seating for four, this is the perfect spot to sit in dappled sunshine and savour alfresco dining in your private idyll.
Parking
A variety of parking is available within easy reach of Bank House. Parking at the top of the high street is free all day, and there is a free car park at the end of the High Street too. Meanwhile, limited parking is available in the Market Square and outside of Bank House, restricted to 1 hour between 8.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
Dogs
One small, well-behaved dog is welcome at Bank House and a dog bed, bowls, towels and treats are provided. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
Babies and children
Bank House welcomes guests over the age of 6.
