Living and eating

Perfect for family getaways or gatherings with friends, Zuri boasts many hidden snugs and cosy corners, where you can convene with loved ones or relish the gentle peace of a diverting book. The first of these welcoming spaces resides at the front of the pied-à-terre, where the original entrance lies, and a dreamy bar stocked with tempting tipples now awaits. A handsome wood burning stove provides a warm welcome, creating a magical place in which to unwind after a day exploring the Lakes. A deliciously deep blue sofa and matching chair beckon, promising cosy evenings lit by candlelight and the gently flickering glow of the fire.

Wander through to the second living area and discover the beautiful natural hues that meld together to create an elegantly calming space. Two plush sofas curl around a rattan coffee table under the solacing gaze of another wood burning stove, curating the perfect space to indulge in a game of cards. Board games and decks of cards can be found in one of the storage units in the room, providing hours of endless fun. A TV and Marshall Radio can also be found here, offering many options for your evening's entertainment.

Through a set of timeless French doors lies the bright and airy conservatory that enjoys sweeping views over the picture-perfect garden, complete with an enchanting fishpond right outside. Bring your morning coffee - courtesy of the Nespresso machine in the kitchen - or curl up on the sumptuous sofa for the last of the afternoon light, made even more special with a glass of something soul-warming in hand.

Equipped with everything you could possibly need to build lasting memories around the table, the country-chic, open-plan kitchen and dining area is perfect for gathering together. A sleek, granite-topped worktop provides ample space for creating culinary masterpieces while the Marshall Radio fills the room with your favourite tunes. A gas range cooker takes centre stage in the kitchen, while a hidden dishwasher makes light work of the dishes. Just around the corner from the kitchen and making the most of the garden vista, the dining table promises slow mornings and delicious dining.

In addition, there's a snug boot room at Zuri to switch walking boots for cosy slippers. A small lounge chair and bookshelf also reside here, providing a secret spot to indulge in some peace and quiet.

Sleeping and bathing

Four beautiful bedrooms await at Zuri, each with their own unique allure and bucolic views.

Breakfasts in bed are a must in bedroom one as the sumptuous, super-king bed looks out across the balcony and over the garden, providing a heavenly view to wake up to. The balcony also offers its own little nook in which to enjoy the tranquil surrounds - curl up on the outdoor sofa or soak the evening away in your very own outdoor bathtub. Tranquil tones blanket the room, wrapping you in a calming aesthetic whether you're drifting off at the end of a magical day or nestling in for a restful lie-in. An ensuite bathroom lies adjacent to the bedroom, offering a cerulean escape with steamy showers.

Bedroom two continues the natural interior style, adorned with vintage pieces and subtle waves of colour. Verdant views await beyond the window, which sits next to the ever-so-inviting double bed. Plump pillows, cushions, and a beautiful floral quilt invite for a dreamy slumber or a cosy escape into your favourite book. Two bedside tables stand on either side of the bed while a chest of drawers can be found in the hall opposite the room.

Bedroom three with a king size bed is another masterclass in tranquillity. Wooden apples and pears adorn the polished chest of drawers while a stunning statement lamp lends its style and a soft glow to the room.

Promising blissful slumber and flexible sleeping arrangements, bedroom four boasts a super king zip-and-link bed, with quilts in vibrant tones. A sleek yet plush rug reaches across the room, adding a touch of lavish warmth and complementary tones to the space. For bubble-topped soaks and morning self-care rituals, you will find an ensuite bathroom, complete with a bath and shower.

Bedroom two and three share a sweet shower room, located on the first floor for wake-me-up morning moments. Downstairs, a W/C by the boot room allows for freshening up before dinner.

Outdoor space

Zuri is wonderfully dog-friendly with an enclosed garden that provides hours of exploratory fun for your furry friends. Follow historic paths that pave the way through the picture-perfect topiaries as you choose an idyllic backdrop for your magical moment. Gather around the flickering fire pit for an evening of swapping stories by starlight, or dine alfresco in the warmer months with the addition of a barbecue. Beautiful teak furniture basks in the last light of the day, providing endless opportunities for some sun-soaked alfresco dining surrounded by loved ones.

You'll also find a bubbling electric hot tub for magical moments spent relaxing under star-studded skies.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Zuri:

Have just spent a lovely few days at Zuri with our two grown up children and dog. The house is beautiful and has a lovely homely, calm feel to it. There is plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing and also great communal areas to come together. We had planned to do lots of walking and exploring of the local area but the house and gardens were so beautiful and peaceful, we ended up spending most of our time just relaxing in the garden or sitting in the hot tub! Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you Boutique Retreats with your help arranging our break.

A beautiful house, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Lots of lovely thoughtful touches such as bathrobes and good selection of glasses. We have been coming away at New Year for 20 years and felt this was the best accommodation we have ever stayed in!

Fantastic scenery and so peaceful. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful location, garden is very pretty. Very relaxing and so quiet.
