Tucked away in its own private grounds far away from roads, Atelier (meaning ‘workshop’ in French) is a gorgeous barn conversion set on farmland with exquisite views over the rolling Cotswold hills.
Roomy, eclectic, and stylish, Atelier exudes the farm workshop that it once was and is something a little different. This wonderful retreat for four is filled with handsome furniture from the owner’s family, antique shops and restoration yards, and benefits from two en-suite bedrooms and a gorgeous open plan living space with a wood burner and bespoke artworks. Fall in love with the incredible views, peaceful ambience and luxurious living; just a few hours here will see stresses and strains falling off shoulders, a perfect escape for couples, families or friends alike.
Set in the hidden North Cotswolds close to Stow-on-the-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh, Atelier is a wonderful hideaway for exploring this stunning part of England, whether it’s wandering round picturesque market towns, hiking over gentle hills and through verdant woodland, discovering delicious eateries or simply to rest and unwind at your own pace - perfect!
Living and eating
The huge open plan living, kitchen and dining area within Atelier is simply divine with reclaimed wooden flooring, stylish artwork, and fabulous interior design - the perfect space in which to spend time with each other.
The sitting area lies to the front of the room where two floor-to-ceiling glass doors open out on to the terrace. The views over the rolling Cotswold countryside are just stunning here, especially at sunset; openthe doors wide on summery days to let the outside in as you relax on the comfy leather sofa and armchairs. For cooler days, there’s a huge Nordpeis wood burner to keep things snug and warm, the perfect spot to curl up with a drink in hand, whilst a Smart TV is available for film nights and a Google Nest Audio is set up for music.
To the back of the room lies the subtle and stylish matt black kitchen that blends into the background so that you can enjoy the view. Perfectly equipped to rustle up something great, there’s an induction hob and oven, fridge freezer, washer dryer and the all-important cafetière for a wake-me-up brew, as well as all the other essentials needed.
Sleeping and bathing
There are two heavenly en suite bedrooms to choose from.
The first bedroom has a wonderful king-sized bed, complete with mustard throws and pretty cushions, guaranteeing a blissful night’s sleep. We love the eye-catching wooden floor, whilst there’s an antique, mirror-fronted wardrobe, armchair, and digital radio too, it’s the ideal space to relax and take five. The gorgeous en suite features a Clearwater Teardop bath and separate shower.
Bedroom two is just charming. The zip-and-link bed can be made up as twins or a super king-sized bed, for flexible sleeping arrangements. With a beautiful, exposed Cotswold stone wall, wooden flooring, fab locker-style wardrobe, dressing table and dual aspect windows with wonderful views, this is a luxurious yet relaxed room to retire to at the end of the day. The en suite is fabulous, and boasts a huge walk-in shower.
Both bedrooms have non-allergenic luxury duvets and pillows and luxurious linens to enwrap you at night, while both en suites have underfloor heating and heated rails to keep towels warm and fluffy.
Outside space
Step from the glass doors in the living area out on to the sunny terrace; here you’ll discover a dining table and chairs for alfresco eating, two sun loungers and two further chairs and a coffee table for outside relaxing.
