Living
Full of charm, our single-storey homestay features an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and diner flooded with natural light and bathed in tranquil tones. Showcasing vaulted ceilings and beautiful features, its open spaces are accentuated with cosy nooks and archways that add even more character to the room. Drawing the eye, an attractive wood mantelpiece sits above a gas-fired wood burning stove, hugged either side by inbuilt bookcases carefully adorned with tasteful decorations. Large windows cascade sunlight during the day, while statement lighting casts an atmospheric glow in sundown hours. For relaxed mornings and ambient evenings, a cosy leather armchair and a royal blue, L-shaped sofa topped with cushions reside in front of a large flatscreen TV above the fireplace. Ready to soothe the soul, a radio and Zeplin music system play out rhythmic tunes, while warming the toes is underfloor heating throughout. Designed to exude calm, this space looks out onto a private, renaissance-inspired walled garden where water features and pools shimmer in the sunlight. Accessed via a huge patio door that brings that outside in, the sheltered garden extends the living area in the summer for dreamy days at home.
Eating and dining
The kitchen and dining area affords gorgeous views across the Marlborough Downs and combine to create an open, social space for gathering throughout the day. Taking centre stage, a preserved archway is framed by a huge glass pane, presenting an architectural work of art and hinting at the cottage's historic roots. Inside, flagstone floors are warmed by underfloor heating, while exposed wood beams, deep blue units and brass inflections add tone and depth to the room. Enticing for atmospheric feast nights at home, the pretty kitchen has everything you could need for rustling up delicious dishes with an array of equipment and utensils. Meanwhile for dining, a circular, wood-topped dining table with chairs awaits close by, overlooked by a snug window seat perfect for reclining with a glass of something special. In the corner, a bespoke wine rack sits below a vintage drinks cabinet for timeless style.

The Hideaway at Hilldrop has two ensuite bedrooms each dressed in White Company linens for the most restful slumbers.
The first bedroom, a light and dreamy haven, features a super-king bed topped with the cosiest throws and pillows, as well as large double cupboards and two bedside tables. Facing the room's wall-length patio doors, it enjoys direct access to The Hideaway's enclosed garden and boasts beautiful views over its four ponds and gorgeous landscaping. For heavenly soaks, it has a freestanding, Victorian copper bath, and for further comfort, has its own ensuite bathroom with gorgeous turquoise tiling, twin sinks, a heated towel rail and a large, walk-in shower.
Radiating calm, the second bedroom has a king-sized bed bedecked in a super-soft duvet and sunshine yellow blanket. Decorated in neutral tones for total serenity, it tempts for lingering lie-ins gazing at the gardens beyond the window from the pillowy comfort of the bed. For added luxury and privacy, this bedroom is complete with an ensuite bathroom with attractive geometric tiling, rainfall shower and heated towel rail for the warmest, fluffiest towels.
Outside space
The Hideaway boasts incredible outside space, promising an oasis centred around the original walled Victorian garden. With eye-catching water features, tasteful symmetry and manicured greenery reminiscent of an Italian renaissance garden, this space is stunning whether sun-soaked at golden hour or illuminated by night. Affording an idyllic space to relax and recline, it is complemented by a large south-facing gazebo with a BBQ, table and chairs, fire table, swing seats and music alfresco.
Beyond the walls of the garden, the dream continues. For blissful soaks, a Royal Delux hot tub awaits, paired with the use of a shared heated outdoor swimming pool (available between 19th April to 20th September 2024). For added relaxation, a brand-new pool house resides with a glass front, huge roof terrace with far-reaching views - perfect for sundown moments. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome at The Hideaway at Hilldrop. As this is a working farm, we ask that all dogs are kept on leads in the grounds. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
Parking
There is a large farmyard with unlimited parking.
