Discover the timeless romance of country living at our honey-hued cottage, nestled in the heart of the infamously postcard-pretty village of Broadway in the Cotswolds. Within our historic, dog-friendly abode awaits a curated home of heavenly proportions, captivating staycation dreamers with soul-soothing neutral interiors, a charming wood burning stove and a spacious garden complete with a wood-fired hot tub. A romantic reverie resides beneath the characterful beams of our darling homestay in every season - whether you're seeking a couples' retreat or an escape with a small family. Promising a delightful village setting, Number 36 is perfectly positioned to uncover the delights of the Cotswolds, whilst being just under two and a half hours from London by car.

Living

Cosy moments await beneath the original, exposed beams of the sitting room, where flagstone flooring is beautifully enhanced by elegant neutral furnishings with botanical green flourishes. A feature bay window looks out to charming village scenes, whilst settled within the inglenook stone fireplace is a wood burning stove – a dreamy addition after days spent uncovering the charm of the Cotswolds. Uncover a choice of seating options, including a plump cream sofa for three, and two wooden armchairs. For staycation entertainment, you’ll find a Smart TV with Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions. For those who may need to catch up on an email or two, you’ll find a desk tucked under the stairs.

Please note that Number 36 is a snug and characterful cottage with low ceilings.

Eating

Just off the sitting room is the lovely bright kitchen with open plan dining area. The kitchen boasts all the appliances you'll need to rustle up feasts, whilst the large glass bi-folding doors open up to the sheltered garden brings in plenty of light. During warmer months, you can push them open and enjoy a summer breeze whilst you cook and eat - totally idyllic! For morning pick-me-ups, you'll find a Nespresso coffee machine.

Sleeping

In the master bedroom, you will be greeted by a sumptuous king-sized bed and by a symphony of soft whites and pastels. This stylish room exudes elegance and sophistication from the delicate Egyptian cotton sheets to the pretty charcoal details and the traditional bare wooden floor boards.

The second bedroom is a petite and cosy version of the former but just as heavenly and charming. The plump bed can handily be made as a spacious king or as a set of twin beds for flexible sleeping.

Please be aware that as the cottage is 500 years old, it's full of charming quirks which also means there are some low ceilings upstairs.

Bathing

Take a deep soak under the walk-in shower complete with rainfall shower and handheld head. The tall ebony radiator will keep your towels warm and fluffy, with the addition of fluffy white robes and Elemis toiletries for the ultimate pamper session.

Outside space

Fold the bi-fold doors back and step into the enclosed garden where you'll find a sunny spot with a table and chairs for alfresco meals, whilst further down there's a fantastic seating area complete with fire pit - perfect for watching the sun go down, wrapping up in blankets and roasting marshmallows. After that, a bubbling hot tub awaits - total bliss!

Babies

Babies and children are most welcome at Number 36. A cot, highchair and two stairgates are provided upon request. Please bring your own bedding.

Dogs

One dog is very welcome at Number 36. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.

Parking

There is parking at the rear of the property. For information regarding the parking at the property, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Number 36:

This is a lovely cosy cottage , that is a short walk to Broadway high street

We had a wonderful stay at Number 36. Great location and easy to walk in to the local village. The cottage felt very cosy and it was home from home.

A wonderful cozy stay at No. 36 Broadway, with everything you need just a short stroll away.

Amazing place, decorated just enough but not over wheeling and lots of space to put your own things. The space was really cleverly thought through and the cottage worked well. Everything and more was in the cottage that we needed. We loved it and we didn’t want to leave. The host was lovely and went above and beyond! With two small children and a dog sometimes travelling isn’t relaxing but we all felt at ease here and it was enjoyable for all. I would recommend the cottage to anyone visiting the Cotswolds. We feel in love the village of Broadway and the cottage was the perfect location! Thank you!!!

First experience of renting a cottage. All positive - all needs anticipated. Easy walk into Broadway. Secure garden- great for the dog. Lovely interior too.

Our stay at this cottage was lovely. We are often travelling and I think the attention to detail and service is one of the best. One really gets the impression that someone has planned what would make life for our guests easier and more comfortable. How do we make them feel very welcome. So many little touches. Well done and thanks.

Louise’s house is utter perfection. As three friends who live all over the UK it was the perfect place to celebrate our 40th birthdays together. Louise was so warm and helpful, which made us feel like we were staying at a friends house, rather than a rental. All the small touches from having Netflix to the Elemis bathroom treats to the surprise hamper full of local food essentials - we really couldn’t have hoped for any more. It really was perfect and I would highly recommend a stay here to anyone.. A huge thanks again to Louise, she helped us celebrate, relax and really enjoy our birthdays together! xx

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful village! Fab garden.

A beautiful retreat, cottage spotlessly clean. Beautifully and tastefully decorated. Lou, the owner was exceptional, helping with queries, responds back very quickly. Cottage has everything that you need and a lovely welcoming hamper was most appreciated (even some doggie treats for our dog)! Unfortunately, due to very extreme cold weather we were unable to use the garden (hot tub and fire pit). The garden is also very well kept and it was a shame about the weather. A lovely stay, would definitely recommend!

Loved it!! I want to go back :)

Beautiful Cotswolds cottage , very cosy and comfortable, everything was of a very high standard and we had a lovely stay. Broadway is a beautiful village with plenty of great shops and places to eat and drink.

Yes.

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. Lovely ride on a steam train from Broadway to Cheltenham. Louise was extremely helpful, and the welcome hamper was good quality local produce. Would definitely recommend and will be planning a visit in the future.

Perfect cottage for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Beautiful private garden for sunny days and a cosy interior on the rainy days. We couldn’t have asked for more.

Beautiful cottage with all amenities for a holiday family of 4. Perfect location, ease to get to all you want to do in the Cotswolds.

Really beautiful property with lots of character. Lovely cosy log burner. We felt very welcomed by the owner. Great location for visiting the Cotswolds. Great to be able to walk into Broadway.

The house was fabulous. Clean, tidy, compact and beautifully maintained.

A beautiful home from home in a great location for exploring Broadway and the Cotswolds.

A real pleasure and thoroughly enjoyed by all of us including our dog!

It was a beautiful cottage. Amazing location Had a lovely time.

Quaint little cottage. It was ideally located 5 minute walk to the beautiful Broadway village. We had a lovely family holiday.

It is beautifully kitted out with everything we wanted to hand. The location is amazing as we were able to walk easily through fields to the town. The owner was there for us when we needed her and was charming. fantastic for the 2 of us and our dog (enclosed back garden)!

A beautiful cottage that is beautifully decorated with careful thought given to the interior decoration and the amenities you need to make it a relaxing and luxurious break away.

This was our first stay with Boutique Retreats, initially booked for May 2020. The team has been so lovely in helping us find a new, suitable date. The house was well-appointed and impeccably clean, and we absolutely adored the village of Broadway. Looking forward to our next booking!

Lovely warm cosy cottage, easy space to relax in . Pretty garden with good parking.

Beautiful house in the perfect location, I would highly recommend!

A delightful cottage, well appointed, cosy and extremely comfortable. Lovely touches on arrival from essentials in the fridge to a delicious cake and loaf!

We had the most wonderful time staying at number 36 Broadway. The accommodation was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and in the perfect spot to both relax and explore. We’d highly recommend a stay.

Lovely cottage, great location and we enjoyed our stay very much.

Superb Host. Beautifully furnished cottage.

Very good. A easy flat walk into the village. Excellent garden space.

We stay in self catering cottages several times a year, No. 36 ranks very very highly. It is beautifully appointed, just a stone’s throw from Broadway High Street with it’s great variety of restaurants and shops. The cottage itself is cleverly designed to make the most of the space. The dining kitchen has bifold glass doors which open fully onto a spacious garden great for children or pets. The two bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage and extremely comfy beds. The owner was very helpful in recommending restaurant and places to walk We had a fabulous time

It was absolutely perfect, and so lovely to be able to stay somewhere so good with our dog.

Perfect for a family with one or two young kids - secure stairgates, cot, highchair at the property; a secure back garden and walkable into the village for toddlers. Would definitely recommend!
