We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about St Mary's Cottage:

Beautiful house & fantastic location. Right in the centre of town yet still lovely and quiet. Everything is within a 10-minute walk, just a perfect city getaway. An extra benefit is the garage. Big thumbs up from all the family - we would love to come back again, perhaps at Christmas, I can imagine how wonderfully cosy it will feel in winter. Bravo to the host.

A good location to explore York City, Dales and Moors. The retreat was above expectations and it was clearly seen the owners looked after it well and kept it to a very high standard. It was very comfortable, quiet and felt like a home away from home.

A really lovely retreat in a great location. The owner was very friendly and super-helpful.

Fabulous house, garden and location - first class!

St. Mary’s Cottage was clean and tidy and very comfortable. The position is excellent for walking into the City just a stroll away. With sightseeing and restaurants within minutes. We travelled with a dog and there was miles of walking from the cottage along the river bank and parkland. Our dog a Great Dane was made most welcome in a number of good restaurants particularly The Star Inn The City and The Whippet Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location for easy access to York centre, and 2 doors away from Roots (Michelin) Restaurant. A beautiful, comfortable home with lots of artworks and ornaments for an extra homely feel. Lovely, private and well maintained garden for enjoying outdoor snacks and drinks. The garage meant our car was securely locked away for the duration of our stay.

This is a beautiful home from home. Very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Thank you Amanda for the welcome hamper and the thoughtful extras. Ideal location for exploring York and a beautiful private courtyard garden to relax in after a busy day.

A truly delightful property in everyway; position A1, décor, comfort and amenities 1st Class. Message to self - must go back!
