Boutique Cottages in Settle

Lying on the south-western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Settle area offers spectacular countryside, straddling the border between North Yorkshire and Lancashire, and just a short distance from Cumbria and the Lake District.

Settle itself is an ancient market town, overlooked by Castleberg, an impressive 300-feet high limestone crag. Once a thriving town with five working mills, today much of Settle is a designated Conservation Area and there are over 76 listed buildings in the town, making it a fascinating place to explore.

It’s also the starting point to one of the most famous railway lines, covering 73 miles over the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria, with the Ribblehead Viaduct being one of the key attractions with 24 arches and an elevation of 165 feet.

There’s plenty of independent shops and eateries to explore, with its fantastic market taking place on Tuesdays, whilst walkers will enjoy being within a short distance of the famous ‘Three Peaks’ – Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent – a challenging adventure.
