Run by a talented team, the pub stays true to its roots welcoming visitors from far and wide into its fold. You can just imagine the inn in years gone by, with weathered fishermen and tradesmen hunkered around a roaring fire.
These days, the pub enjoys a new lease of life whilst still retaining period features. Ribs of exposed wooden beams frame the ceilings and pictures telling a thousand tales line the walls, adding to the rustic ambience.
If you are looking for something to eat, the menu is carefully crafted using locally-sourced produce, adapting with the seasons. With meat from the local butchers, fresh fish from St Ives, Cornish vegetables and a selection of local cheeses – including the famously tasty Cornish Yarg – you can bite into the tastes of the South West and savour every moment.
Particularly proud of their ‘proper’ pies and home-made scotch eggs, the Old Inn serves a wide range of pub favourites, from succulent beef burgers topped with crisp salad leaves to homemade lasagne to the classic fish and chips. If your taste buds are tingling but you aren’t overly hungry, light bites and sides are also available so you can indulge in just right the amount.
Sometimes it’s nice to pop out just for a drink and a chat. Fortunately, the bar has a generous selection of beverages and ample space for you to pull up a pew. In the summer, the beer garden is a popular spot to soak in some rays as you sip a cool, drink. As the pub is dog-friendly, your four-pawed pal is also welcome and will enjoy nibbling on a treat as you sit and relax.
