Sleeping two, step through the door and you'll discover a cosy, characterful getaway with all the luxuries to make your stay idyllic with underfloor heating, a flickering wood burner, sumptuous velvet furniture and a gorgeously romantic bedroom - plus a wood burning hot tub in the garden.
Set close to the historic market town of Settle, Hartley Hare is the perfect base from which to explore the Dales, as well as being close to two other Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty; The Forest of Bowland and the Lake District in Cumbria - a tucked away bolthole for those seeking seclusion and respite from the busyness of everyday life.
Living
The cosy, intimate sitting room is the ultimate den to retreat to, with underfloor heating and a sumptuous green velvet sofa and co-ordinating snuggler armchair nestled around the flickering double-sided wood burner. We just love the original features such as the characterful beamed ceiling and original sliding barn door. Extra snugness is brought in with a fluffy Icelandic sheepskin rug and sumptuous soft furnishings, whilst far reaching views over the moors will enrapture during quiet moments. In addition, there are traditional board games, a Smart TV with DVD player and Amazon Firestick plus a Bluetooth speaker to keep you entertained.
Eating
The delightful, spacious kitchen with handmade Studio Green kitchen units and quartz worktops are bound to impress even the strictest chef. Fully equipped, there's an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and all the other essentials including a Le Xpress cafetiere with milk frother - essential for coffee lovers.
Divided from the kitchen by a stunning, original boskin (a stall divider), the dining room has a gorgeous table for two complete with benches and a separate velvet armchair, sheepskins to wrap up in and of course the flickering wood burner to keep you company - plus amazing views over the countryside - the sunsets are spectacular from this setting.
In addition, there's a separate utility room with washer-dryer and facilities for storing and drying outer wear after long walks over the moors.
Sleeping
The oh-so-romantic beamed, high ceilinged bedroom is home to a king size bed complete with Harrison Spinks mattress, handmade in Yorkshire. Swathed in luxurious linens, sumptuous bedding and pretty throws and cushions, you'll easily drift off to sleep after a day exploring, to wake up and slumber blissfully until breakfast in bed - after all, that's what holidays are all about! In addition, there's a large wardrobe and dressing table.
Bathing
The gorgeously moody bathroom comes complete with original beams and wooden boskin, and is home to a large Duravit double ended bathtub for two, perfect for long, languorous soaks, plus a spacious walk-in shower, heated rail to keep towels warm and fluffy and underfloor heating to keep toes toasty.
Outdoor space
The lovely courtyard garden overlooks rolling fields and hills and is a wonderful spot to while away a lazy afternoon, and it's also perfect for watching sunsets which the owners describe as spectacular from this position. The highlight must be the Skargards wood burning hot tub, where silky waters steam invitingly, a wonderful setting for star gazing. In addition, there's a teak table for up to four people and a banana bench equipped with cushions and throws, a charming setting for meals alfresco, and for when the sun sinks below the hills, there's plenty of twinkling lanterns plus a firepit that also doubles as a barbeque.

There is private, off-road parking for up to two cars.
There is a public EV charging point available in Lords Courtyard which is located opposite Hartley Hare.

In the Area
Set within the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park, Hartley Hare is perfectly situated to explore this beautiful area, straddling the border between North Yorkshire and Lancashire, including the Forest of Bowland, and just a short distance from Cumbria and the Lake District. The famous market town of Settle is just one mile away, home to lots of independent shops, eateries and a weekly market as well as boasting a rich heritage, being once a productive cotton mill town. A designated Conservation Area, today it has over 76 listed buildings, and its also the starting point of the Settle-Carlisle Railway, one of the most famous railway lines in Britain, covering 73 miles over the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria, with the Ribblehead Viaduct one of the key attractions. A must for lovers of the great outdoors, there's dramatic landscapes to explore, whether that's on foot, two wheels or four, or why not try a spot of horse riding too? Alternatively, it's an excellent area for wild swimming with rivers, becks, waterfalls and pools aplenty just a short distance away, or for the adventurous, there's caving and pot holing amongst The Three Peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-gent too. There is clay pigeon shooting at an award-winning Shooting Ground, or for something a little more sedate, there's fishing, cheese-making and photography courses, or simply take a tour or the stunning villages and market towns that dot the wild landscape.
