Small but perfectly formed, this wonderful cottage with a wood-fired hot tub boasts a host of original features such as soft, golden wood floors, a toasty wood burner and pretty window seats. Combined perfectly with the luxurious furnishings and fittings that the owner has carefully chosen in plush velvets and natural tones, it altogether creates a warm, welcoming vibe guaranteed to make you feel right at home.
Romantic Apple Tree Cottage is perfect for couples, but with two bedrooms it's also great for friends or relatives to share - and it's dog friendly as well.
Nestled in the heart of the pretty village of Gweek at the head of the Helford river, this retreat is a wonderful base from which to explore the south Cornish coast as well as the west of Cornwall.
Living
Cosy and charming, the petite sitting room is the perfect spot to return to at the end of the day. With a roaring wood burner, curl up on the sofa or the mustard-yellow velvet armchair with your favourite tipple in hand. Discreetly tucked away in a cupboard is a Smart TV should you want to catch up on your favourite films and series, whilst there's a selection of books and board games if you're after something a little more traditional!
Eating
We just love the thoroughly gorgeous country kitchen. Complete with everything you need to rustle up your favourite meals, it comes with a Rangemaster electric cooker set into the original fireplace recess, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and wine fridge as well as the all-important Nespresso coffee machine. There's a fabulous round dining table, whilst we adore the original window seat - a perfect spot for morning coffee.
In addition, outside in the laundry shed you'll find a washing machine and tumble dryer - there's also space for wetsuits, surf or body boards or bicycles should you have them.
Sleeping
The master bedroom is just delightful in pale, natural colours offset by the beautiful teal velvet super king-sized bed. With a chest of drawers and hanging space, this is a charming room to retreat to at the end of the day. The second bedroom with small double bed is pure bliss, with lovely views over the garden and a chest of drawers. Both beds are swathed in luxurious linens and bedding, sumptuous throws, and cosy cushions - the perfect escape to lay your head and drift off to sleep.
Bathing
There's a delightful shower for wake-me-up ablutions in the morning or to cool down after a day out exploring. Please note, the shower is quite low so please be aware if you're tall!
Babies and children
Apple Tree Cottage welcomes babes in arms and children over the age of 12 years due to the access to the river at the end of the garden and cottage steep stairs. Please bring your own baby equipment and contact the office to book a baby in.
Outside Space
To the back of Apple Tree Cottage is a gorgeously pretty garden complete with a wood-fired hot tub, nestled near a bubbling stream which leads to the river. There is a top patio where you'll find a table and chairs for a spot of alfresco dining, whilst a lawned area leads down to the bottom patio which has a fire pit that can also be used as a barbeque - perfect for night-time escapades toasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate. The garden is enclosed on three sides, the bottom of the garden leads on to the stream which is gated off, but do exercise caution with children or pets here.
Parking
There is on street parking outside of the house.
Dogs
One small, well behaved dog is welcome. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
WiFi
Apple Tree Cottage has WiFi so if you need to stay in touch with the outside world you can.
