Out & About

Situated on the eastern coast of the Lizard, this charming fishing village is shrouded in myth and legend. On a beautiful stretch of coast, its sandy beach is a popular family beach and is year-round dog-friendly too – great news for four-legged friends! Yet despite the cove’s serene appearance, lying just offshore are the Manacles. A group of submerged rocks, the treacherous Manacles have been responsible for the wrecking of numerous sailing and fishing boats in years gone by – the sunken remains of which are now a popular draw amongst divers!

Whether you are looking forward to an action-packed summer break or a relaxing winter retreat, a luxury cottage in Coverack ticks all the boxes for a holiday you will want to repeat again and again. Go for leisurely strolls around the South West Coast Path, feast on the freshest local produce in cosy cafés and candlelit restaurants and when you want to head further afield, take your pick of picture-perfect spots. From Kynance Cove to the Helford River and from Cadgwith to Porthleven, there will be plenty to draw you out from your 5-star accommodation (and plenty to lure you back again!).

Finished with the most utmost eye for detail, all our luxury cottages in Coverack are equipped with everything you could need and more for meals at home. Head down to Coverack Village Stores or Elizabeth’s to pick up some scrumptious titbits and head back to your home from home to cook up a culinary sensation. Nothing will beat relaxing with your family or friends in your Boutique Retreat listening to the gentle lap of waves as you serve up steaming plates of goodness.

For meals you don’t have to think about, the Old Lifeboat House is a popular choice amongst locals and visitors alike, while further afield the Greenhouse in St Keverne is well worth the journey, serving up beautifully considered and skilfully prepared dishes suiting all dietary requirements. Particularly nice in summer, Fat Apples Café near Porthallow is well-known for its wholesome dishes and huge slices of home-made cakes. Round off your meal with hearty scoops of ice cream from Roskilly’s

Roll out of the marshmallow embrace of your luxurious boutique bed and hop over to the Harbour Lights Café. If you are a fan of your coffee in the morning, this sea view café run by local lady Jane oozes with invitation and the tantalising aromas of freshly baked goodies prepared in the kitchen. Homely and cosy, it’s the ideal place to watch the mesmeric roll of waves outside and come to with a steaming brew, perhaps accompanied by a hot plate of food or slice of something sweet.

When 5 o’clock rolls around (somewhere in the world!), the Paris in Coverack is a lovely spot to go for a local ale, mixer-infused spirit or glass of wine. Whether you are deep in conversation or simply watching the world pass by, the time will easily run away. Another day, bury a flask of tea in your backpack and go for a stroll around the coast path before you head back to your private homestay – nothing will beat cuddling up under blankets as shades of blue paint the horizon.

Whether you are planning a quintessentially Cornish summer holiday or atmospheric winter getaway in Coverack, there will be plenty to keep you captivated. Spend as much time as possible on the beach in summer paddling in the crystal-clear water and drying off on the sand. Dog-friendly year-round, all members of the family will be able relax under warm rays of sunshine, playing games along the shore and tucking into picnics washed down with homemade lemonade. In winter, watch the flipside of Mother Nature by the fire in your boutique retreat as dramatic storms whip up a jaw-dropping show outside.

Should you feel like stepping outside of your Coverack bubble for a while, you can easily walk up to Terence Coventry Sculpture Park from the village or head further away to the stunning Trebah Gardens. A magnificent 26-acre Cornish ravine garden, Trebah is home to a beautiful collection of rare and exotic plants, trees and shrubs. If you are into diving, head over to Porthkerris for an underwater experience to cherish forever, or for more adventures on land, make sure you pay a trip to the Lizard Point – mainland Britain’s most southerly point.
