Living

The sumptuous sitting room is just a dream in blues and golds, whilst sash windows with window seats flood the room with natural light. Two three-seater blue velvet sofas and two gold velvet tub chairs nestle around the stunning fireplace complete with wood burning stove and granite lintel, making it the perfect place to come together at the end of a busy day exploring. A stunning Moroccan Beni Ourain wool rug, large coffee table and carefully considered furnishings complete the luxurious look of this amazing room. In addition, there's a Smart TV, DVD player and a well-stocked double bookcase full of books, DVDs and games to keep you entertained.

Across the hallway from the sitting room, you'll find a study and quiet space complete with a small desk and a sofa - perfect for catching up on an email or two during your stay.

Eating

The immense kitchen and dining area is just perfect for gatherings and celebrations. This room showcases an exquisite blend of vintage charm and modern luxury with a slate floor, whitewashed walls and views out over the courtyard combined with all the top-notch appliances you'll need to rustle up anything from snacks to dinner parties. For traditionalists, there's a cosy Aga (available to use between mid-November and March) tucked within the original fireplace whilst an electric Neff hob and oven lies opposite on the granite topped central island. In addition, there's a Smeg retro fridge with small freezer box, two built in dishwashers and all the other appliances you might need.

Lying next to the gorgeous kitchen is the majestic dining table that extends to seat eight people with eight grey upholstered high-backed chairs and views over the courtyard - a wonderful entertaining space! The Colonial style grey sideboard with stone top houses a plethora of beautiful crockery and glassware to turn a meal into a special occasion.

In addition, a microwave, large built-in freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer can be found in the utility room.

Sleeping

Take the main staircase up and you'll find the luxurious master bedroom. This delightful room boasting triple aspect windows has stunning views over the fields to Coverack in the distance. The Normandy rattan and mahogany super king size bed, resplendent in luxurious linens, throws and cushions, beckons you invitingly for super long lie ins, whilst there's plenty of storage space, a well-stocked bookcase and a St James button-backed chair for when you want a quiet moment to yourself, gazing out over the countryside.

There are three further bedrooms which can be accessed via the staircase in the kitchen.

The larger of the two bedrooms has a gorgeous Mustique-inspired super king bed, built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, leather-backed chair and a darling window seat overlooking the beautiful flagstone courtyard and fields beyond.

The third bedroom is a zip-and-link bedroom, meaning it can be set up as either twin beds (perfect for little ones) or as super king double bed. It has plenty of storage space and oh-so-pretty views over the rolling hillside.

For children or teenagers looking for their own space to reside, a cosy fourth bedroom can be found on the first floor, complete with a day bed which can be made up as a double. On the ground floor, you'll find a snug study with the addition of a sofa bed. Please note that the day bed and sofa bed are best suited for younger party members.

Bathing

There's a bathroom complete with freestanding, claw-foot bathtub for two plus separate shower next to the master bedroom. In addition, there's a shower room with large walk-in shower next to the second, third and fourth bedroom. A further wet room on the ground floor accessed via the utility room, perfect for showering off small children after a day at the beach or in the muddy fields.

Outdoor space

The pretty cottage garden comes complete with a courtyard that has a wonderful dining table and chairs plus a barbeque - perfect for alfresco meals. There's also a firepit with Nordic-style seats, the ideal spot for watching the stars whilst toasting marshmallows. In addition, there's decking with sofas and a coffee table. We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Kilter House:

Absolutely beautiful house and ideal location; a perfect holiday!

Absolutely fabulous house! I can't believe we haven't booked with Boutique Retreats before but we definitely will again. Everything in the house was beautifully appointed and it had everything we needed.

The cottage was very comfortable and had plenty of room for guests. Access to the coastal path was easy and we enjoyed several walks from the cottage. All in all a great place for a restful break.

Everything to a very high standard.

This retreat was amazing and such a lovely holiday. Location was great with the fish and chip shop in Coverack a must.

Kilter House is without doubt the best and most luxurious self-catering property we have ever stayed in. The beds, the towels the furnishings are of exceptional quality for a rented property.

The cottage exceeds expectation. All the furnishings and equipment are in excellent condition and to a very high standard of cleanliness. We were extremely comfortable and impressed with the house.

Kilter provides an excellent base for exploring the Lizard. The house is stylishly and imaginatively furnished, comfortable and well-maintained, and had been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived. We had absolutely no problems during our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Firstly, a huge thank you! To share a home is a gesture of warmth and kindess to all visitors. We felt appreciated by all the thoughtful touches, considered design elements, beautiful colours, and such peace. We leave with love and deep rest afforded to us by such a special home.

Out of all the homes we have stayed at I must say your home stands out. Kilter ticks boxes which are often missed in my head. The house is set up in a way where everyone is together yet spaced enough to be able to have some independence. It is cosy yet spacious, with little Christmas touches. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for our last minute Christmas holiday on home soil!

What a lovely home for the week and such a treat to have a Christmas tree too.

What a beautiful and stylish place with lovely decor. The photos do not do it justice. I should also mention the excellent dark sky conditions for stargazers!

Beautiful and spacious cottage - we really enjoyed ourselves. Came equipped with what sounds like a barn owl and foxes most nights!

Such a welcoming home, thank you. We really appreciated the attention to detail and love the decor.

An absolutely beautiful place to stay! We did not want to leave!!

Kilter house was the perfect house for our stay in Coverack. All the rooms were beautiful, the kitchen and communal rooms were lovely for relaxing together and the garden and outside areas were too! The proximity to Coverack was better than we imagined - we frequently wandered down by foot to get to the village and if you like pasties you MUST try Elizabeth's pasties (served from her own cottage overlooking the harbour) and also Archies Loft was fab for coffee/ cake. The location of the house is great as it's very private and not overlooked and I can definitely say we'd love to return again and will be recommending the house to others!

Completely lovely and relaxing in every way!

A wonderful stay. We really appreciated the care and detail that has gone into making this a special place to stay.

What a fabulous cottage! It was a perfect home to enjoy a week in Cornwall. Thank you and we hope to visit you again,

Kilter House is just a stunner! From the interiors to the brilliant garden—clearly designed for a G&T in the sun and a firepit to watch the sunset—to the proximity to adorable Coverack, this house is a gem, and we loved every minute of our stay.

Fabulous, amazing house. Luxury, comfort, and a home all rolled into one. We truly did not want to leave. Thank you.
