Combining contemporary architectural features and a neutral colour palette with elegant antique pieces from Europe's finest corners, our stylish oasis proposes a seamless blend of old-world style with notes of modern minimalism. From underfloor heating throughout, a handsome wood burning stove, and bucolic scenery from each window, our bewitching country bolthole promises an endless list of luxuries at every turn. Residing on the unspoilt edges of Gweek in Cornwall, Bargos is perfectly placed for uncovering a myriad of sleepy towns and villages, whilst also being close to a bounty of jaw-dropping silky beaches and secret coves.
Lower occupancy rate
A special lower occupancy rate applies outside of school holidays, peak weeks, bank holidays, Christmas and New Year.
Option one offers a 10% discount for parties of 4 guests or less. At this rate, bedrooms one and two will be made avaliable to you.
Option two offers a 20% discount for parties of 2 guests or less and only the master bedroom will be made available to you.

Living and Eating
Greeting guests with gorgeously ample archways and sleek, polished concrete floors reminiscent of a chic, overseas villa, Bargos features spacious open plan living and dining quarters for gathering. Designed to emphasise indoor-outdoor living, the retreat overlooks the verdant green valleys beyond the retreat, whilst various doors lead to the sun-soaked garden where mesmeric alfresco moments await.
Filled with historic and contemporary oil paintings tucked in ornate brass frames and original interior pieces such as a vintage Mallorcan coffee table, the charming living area offers a captivating space to unwind. There is choice of seating beside the heavenly wood burning stove, including a brushed cream linen sofa, an assortment of antique armchairs, and a sumptuous ruby-red velvet sofa for three.
Wander through the hallway past the sweeping spiral staircase to find the divine kitchen and dining space, where bespoke wooden cabinets are paired with natural textiles in a symphony of soft tones. Everything you could need for crafting culinary delights is on hand, including an Everhot with three ovens and two hobs, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser.
Folklore style feasting awaits around the understated solid pine dining table, where long benches paired with the subtle glimmer of candlelight ensure splendid mealtimes together.
For those looking for a serene spot to chronicle their travel reveries or settle down with a book, uncover the study, where you'll find an antique Whig table with chair and a rustic pew-style bench.
You'll find the addition of an Alexa sound system for curating your staycation playlist, along with a Smart TV for those cosy nights in. Additionally, a selection of retro board games can be found in the bench in the study.
In the utility room, you can find both a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Sleeping & Bathing
There are three dreamlike bedrooms to choose from at Bargos.
Exuding Castilian elegance, the master bedroom can be found on the ground floor, where a king-sized bed dressed in ecru-toned linens beckons for uninterrupted slumbers. This space is complete with two bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a set of vintage Spanish leather chairs, and a large window overlooking the garden, where a Beth Chatto inspired garden is a simply otherworldly spot to savour your day-rise blend.
There is also a dressing area, where you can find an additional chest of drawers, a wardrobe, and a demi-lune dressing table with a stool.
Romantic bubble-topped moments await through the adjoining door in the beautiful en suite. Styled in gorgeous stone by Lusso and with gold feature accents, here you'll find a large freestanding bathtub for two, a large Microcement rainfall shower along with a double basin with a large mirror.
Upstairs, wistful morning lie-ins await in the second bedroom, where an antique French bed with a Carolyn Quartermaine note sheet print headboard takes centre stage. Alongside the large desk-come-dressing table with a chair, there is a quirky Lloyd Loom occasional chair, two bedside tables, and small storage cupboard for storing your belongings

Just next door is the elegant oak-panelled family bathroom, complete with a bathtub with a showerhead.
In the adorable final bedroom, you will find equally calming tones and twin zip and link beds, offering the option of a super-king when flexible sleeping arrangements are necessary.
On the ground floor, an additional bathroom with a vintage Carrara marble basin and rainfall shower can be found - the perfect addition after days spent at the beach.
Each bathroom at Bargos has heated rails to ensure towels are kept warm and fluffy.
Outdoor space
Step outside to discover the dramatic garden space, nestled between towering oak trees with three sweeping lawns overlooking the verdant valley and classic boatyard beyond.
On the front terrace, a round wooden dining table for six promises dreamlike dining beside stunning country scenes, alongside a pair of Adirondack chairs which invite for conversation beside the firepit. Head to the East terrace to find two reclining loungers to enjoy on sun-kissed days.
To the back of the retreat lies a series of raised vegetable beds, which guests are welcome to pick when in season.
A barbecue will also be available for use during the summer months.

There is ample private parking available at Bargos.

In the Area
Settled on the fringes of Gweek, our contemporary dream resides close to an array of delectable eateries, cafés and country pubs. Only a twenty-minute walk from the retreat, The Black Swan promises traditional comfort food, whilst the New Yard Restaurant set in historic former stable yard in Trelowen pairs innovative dishes with a heavenly ambience. A short drive away in the pretty town of Helston, Cast café offers a wholesome menu crafted with local ingredients and also hosts the occasional feasting event. For waterside dining, escape to the idyllic fishing town of Porthleven to indulge in fresh seafood at Kota Kai and The Mussel Shoal, or alternatively, flee to the bustling Falmouth where the stylish and award-winning Star and Garter boasts uninterrupted views of the harbour. Unforgettable days out include the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan and the hidden coves of Dollar and Kynance. If you prefer to reside closer to home, wander toward the Helford River and picnic at the water's edge whilst delighting in the natural beauty of this unspoilt pocket of Cornish countryside.
