Living

The elegant open-plan living area of The Store Room proposes the cosiest space for embracing slow moments. Crowned by vaulted ceilings and adorned in tranquil tones, coastal artworks, and vintage finds, each detail is carefully considered for utmost comfort. Cosy up on the deep sofa or relax in the armchair and bask in the charming ambience. In the cooler months, the wood burning stove casts a warming amber glow, while throughout the year, the skylights above frame ever-changing skies of cerulean blue and star-flecked night. For entertainment there is a Smart TV with a DVD player, as well as a digital radio for staycation soundtracks.

Eating

Adjoining the living area, the kitchen is a dream in soft-pink Farrow & Ball shades and slate tones. White tiles add subtle contrast, complemented by a white Belfast sink and silver inflections and illuminated by pendant lights and Velux windows. Craft delectable dinners to fuel wayfaring reveries and uncover the array of accoutrements, such as the double oven and DeLonghi Nespresso-compatible coffee machine with a choice of pods. To savour romantic repasts, take a seat at the vintage farmhouse dining table for two, or head outside to the private, wrap-around courtyard to enjoy alfresco feasts and starlit suppers under open skies. A washing machine/dryer is tucked away next to the kitchen.

Sleeping and bathing

Settle into serenity in The Store Room's master suite. A heaven-sent space with a vaulted ceiling, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and calming tones, it presents an idyllic haven in which to unwind. Beckoning for repose, a king size Feather & Black bed with Harrison Spinks mattress promises cloud-soft comfort, swathed in the highest quality linens and topped with cosy cushions and throws. A floral feature wall frames a beautiful armoire and chest of drawers, meanwhile vintage books, antique illustrations, and tasteful embellishments add thoughtful touches throughout. For enchanted awakenings, nestle under the duvet during leisurely lie-ins, opening the glass door to the courtyard on balmy days to welcome soft sea breezes.

A stunning focal point, the bedroom also features an Omnitub Japanese plunge bath. Inspired by oriental soaking tubs, this deep, angular bath features an overhead drench shower and is perfect for long, restful soaks. For comfort and convenience, there is also a separate WC.

Outdoor space

Ideal for chasing the sun, The Store Room features a peaceful, wrap-around garden ornamented with honey-hued stone and splashes of manicured greenery. Enjoying a sheltered, south-facing aspect, the courtyard is a particular delight for alfresco dining. Curate flavoursome feasts with fresh produce sourced from the delis and stores of Mousehole and Mount's Bay and relax around the outdoor table and chairs. From late morning brunches to dinner dates at dusk, this private utopia is a dream.

We enjoyed a very happy Christmas in this cosey & comfortable cottage. It was decorated beautifully for Christmas 2023. We loved it.

The cottage was perfect, the location was fabulous and all the little details for ourself and the dog were great. The bath was so also so nice!

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful little retreat, which surpassed all of our expectations. Thank you!

Another wonderful stay in Mousehole at The Store Room. We’ve stayed at The Store Room for many years and it’s always so well maintained and feels fresh each time. A perfect little home from home that’s just right for a cosy Christmas or any time of the year. Beautifully maintained and so comfortable too. Thank you, we look forward to our next visit.

Beautiful retreat over and above of what we expected. Everything was beautifully presented and clean. Great location for everything, 2 minutes from the stunning harbour. This is the second time we have stayed at this retreat and highly recommend.

Stunning, perfect location for having a mooch about, really relaxing little bolt hole. Like a home from home.

Luxurious stay in a beautiful retreat. Well thought out, with everything that you would need for your visit, just perfect for the two of us.

It’s an absolutely first class cottage. We were so impressed with the quality of the interior, the furnishings & the finishing touches...we absolutely loved it.

Beautiful interior and a great location. We loved our stay, thank you.

Beautiful place to stay, decor and attention to detail was fantastic. Loved the bath and clever use of space. Definitely glad we took a small car so we were able to park right outside the property and manoeuvre in and out. Perfect little retreat.

Perfect location, beautifully presented, you immediately feel relaxed when you walk in. Highly recommend this property.

Gorgeous interior with lots of personal touches. Great location and not too noisy with the restaurant near by. Parking could be an issue as most days builders had parked their vans across our access but once we tracked them down they were happy to move.

Delightful.

A beautiful retreat in the centre of a beautiful village

Beautiful bolt hole in a beautiful part of Cornwall with many finishing touches that only added to the enjoyment of our stay

Loved the property and loved the location - perfect!

This is a fantastic retreat that we have now stayed at several times. We have tried other cottages too but The Store Room remains our favourite! The location is great, it’s quiet but just a minute from the harbour, and the parking space is a bonus. We love eating at 2 Fore Street which is literally steps away, but there are many other fantastic places to go to in Mousehole and Newlyn, plus a lovely cliff top walk to Lamorna Cove all within easy distance. The owners have thought of everything to make staying at The Store Room really special and relaxing: it is perfect!

Having visited at Christmas, the property had lovely decorations and a thoughtful and generous hamper. Please thank the owners and also Claire and team for preparing it so nicely.

The Store Room was a lovely find, as central as you can get, and the perfect for a retreat for two.

This is a lovely bolt hole in Mousehole which we would definitely recommend for couples. It’s in the heart of the village withIn a few minutes’ walk of some lovely places to eat and drink, and the pretty harbour. Newlyn is also in walking distance and has some great places for food. Having your own parking space is a bonus. We’ve stayed several times and keep coming back for more!!

Fantastic stay. Great to have a parking slot which needed some manoeuvring but great

I had thought that the expectations could not match the place in reality - but it really was the perfect little retreat! centrally place in Mousehole and yet so quiet and cosy - and beautifully decorated that it felt more like a hotel. loved the little touches for the dog and the treats left for us

A lovely, stylish and comfortable place to spend a week. Such well thought out accommodation and surprisingly private for so ewhere so close to the harbour.

We had a wonderful stay at The Store Room as soon as you walk in you get the Wow factor !! Cute little open planned cottage and the bedroom and bathing area was divine, we had some lovely cosy evenings in with a bottle or two of champagne whilst soaking in the Japanese Plunge Bath. The log burner was a lovely addition to the cottage but you don't need to worry about been cold as the cottage has underfloor heating. The restaurant next door even delivered our meal to our door on plates all you had to do was sit down and enjoy the meal. Mouslehole was a lovely place to stay and we had some amazing days out as well.

A wonderful retreat for 2 people in this picturesque harbour village. Parking on site is extremely useful too.

Perfect location. Superb accommodation. Hosts have thought of everything to make the perfect stay. Thank you!

The cottage was beautiful and situated in an ideallic are of Mousehole. It's beautifully decorated even so we have taken ideas for our own home. The secure gardens are perfect for your dog and knowing your only a short walk from the local pub and restaurant is fantastic.
