A stone's throw from the heart of Porthleven's bustling village and harbour, you will find our heavenly Cornish granite retreat, promising an oasis of calm for a dreamlike staycation. Enjoy enchanting cerulean vistas across the Atlantic Ocean from the first floor and tiered garden, with two charming wood burning stoves to keep you toasty and warm in the winter. Welcoming four guests and up to two dogs, Minnadhu is perfect for families and friends alike, with two equally beautiful bedrooms, both of which have ensuites. Enjoy a short stroll into the village, where a host of mouth-watering eateries, shops and galleries await you. Minnadhu is wonderfully positioned to enjoy the north and south coast of Cornwall, with the seaside towns of St Ives and Falmouth both under half an hour away by car. For sun-soaked days on the sand, head to Rinsey Cove, a National Trust owned beach just a short distance from Minnadhu.
Living, eating and dining
An open plan living, kitchen and dining space resides on the first floor, boasting breath-taking views across the Atlantic Ocean from the large sash windows. Two comfortable sofas can be found in the living area, with a toasty wood burning stove for cosy fireside moments, plus a Smart TV to catch up on your favourite box sets after days spent exploring the Cornish coastline. There is also a Bluetooth speaker to soundtrack your holiday playlist, plus a selection of board games for endless entertainment. Should you need to catch up on an email or two during your stay, you'll find a handy office area complete with a desk for all your workcation needs.
Forest green panelling and cupboards beautifully complement the crisp white worktops and chic brass detailing in the enchanting kitchen. You'll find all you could possibly need to create culinary delights, with an induction hob and twin oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and retro Smeg fridge/freezer. There is also an integrated washer/dryer, plus a Nespresso coffee machine for freshly brewed morning pick-me-ups. A wine chiller can be found next to the breakfast bar, perfectly positioned to enjoy a chilled glass of sparkle as you watch your chosen chef at work. Beside the kitchen sits a rustic dining table for four to enjoy flavoursome feasts, with velvet chairs in shades of mustard.
To keep toes toasty and warm, Minnadhu has underfloor heating throughout the retreat.
Sleeping and bathing
A sumptuous king-size bed dressed in cloud soft linens and heavenly cushions and throws can be found in the master bedroom. Soothing interiors promise the perfect setting for dreamy slumbers, with the addition of built-in bedside tables, a chest of drawers and a hanging space for storing your belongings. Step into the ensuite shower room, complete with a large walk-in shower with a rainfall head plus handheld attachment for wake-me-up moments. There's also a heated towel rail to keep towels fluffy and warm.
The second bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements, with a zip-and-link super-king size bed, which can also be set as twins. Dressed in soft shades of green and pink, enjoy moments of rest in this calming haven, with a door that opens onto the terrace to welcome a gentle summer breeze during the warmer months. For storing items of clothing, you will find a built-in cupboard with shelves and a hanging rail. The ensuite bathroom is simply a dream, with a bath, plus an overhead rainfall shower and a bijoux wood burning stove. Savour bubble-topped soaks beside the flickering fire, promising a cocoon of cosiness in the winter. To keep towels fluffy and warm, there is also a heated towel rail.
Outside space
Outside, an enclosed tiered garden awaits for magical alfresco moments. The sheltered lower terrace, complete with a dining table for four, offers a relaxed setting for outdoor dining, whether you're savouring fresh coffee and pastries in the morning sun, or sumptuous suppers at dusk beneath the warmth of the patio heater. For freshly grilled delights, you will find an electric Ninja BBQ. There is also an outdoor shower, plus a wetsuit hanging rail for post-beach dreaming. Steps lead up to a verdant tiered garden, with two benches for sitting and admiring the ocean vistas.
Past the garden, there is also a 1.5-acre enclosed field that is perfect for exercising canine companions. Please note that this area is set within a working farm, and is only available for use when no livestock are present.
Parking
There is parking for one car at Minnadhu, with an EV charging point for electric vehicles. Additional on-street parking can be found opposite Minnadhu.
Babies and children
Babies and children are most welcome at Minnadhu. A highchair is available upon request.
Dogs
Up to two dogs are welcome at Minnadhu. You'll find dog bowls at the retreat, plus an outdoor shower for washing sandy and muddy paws. Please note, there is an additional fee per dog, per week or short break.
In the Area
Minnadhu is perfectly situated to explore the delights of west Cornwall, with picture perfect Porthleven on your doorstep, boasting an iconic pier, bustling harbour and inspiring galleries. For sun-soaked days on the sand, visit Rinsey Beach, a National Trust owned hidden gem which is a firm favourite with the locals. St Michael's Mount is only a 15-mintue drive from Minnadhu, with its exotic gardens and historic castle, whilst the seaside town of St Ives is only 25 minutes away by car, with the famous Tate art gallery and a host of beautiful beaches just waiting to be explored. The Minack Theatre is well worth a visit for a one-of-a-kind theatre experience with a dramatic backdrop of the rugged Cornish coastline. On the south coast, visit the vibrant town of Falmouth, home to an array of boutique shops, cafes, and the National Maritime Museum - a must visit for lovers of the deep sea.
Enjoy a host of wonderful places to eat and drink in Porthleven, just a short walk from your retreat. From award-winning eateries, such as Jude Kereama's Kota Kai and The Square at Porthleven, to laid-back harbour front restaurants including Amelie and Nauti, enjoy those moments of indulgence that are reserved for retreating. For waterside tipples, The Ship Inn and The Harbour Inn are great local pubs, both with lovely views across the harbour. A little further afield, venture to Argoe in Newlyn for fresh Cornish seafood and The Victoria Inn in Perranuthnoe for delicious pub lunches.
