Living

Walk through into the main entrance hall and you'll find a warm, spacious welcome. There's a fab wood burning stove for winter months, whilst the gorgeous, white painted wooden floors keep things cool in summer. Turn right and up the steps and you'll find yourself in the huge open living space, complete with pretty sofas and arm chairs to lounge in on winter nights in front of the second wood burning stove. There are two sets of french doors - one set opens on to the front garden whilst the other on to the back courtyard, bringing the outside in but also creating a fabulous breeze on hot days. Tucked away in a huge dark wooden wardrobe is a large TV and sound system - perfect for film nights, whilst an impressive Tudor style chess set is in place ready for a game. Leading off of the kitchen is a snug with sofas, another television and under floor heating - ideal for kids who want their own space to hang out.

Eating

The incredible kitchen lies to the left of the entrance hall and is a huge space - perfect for gatherings! The lovely egg blue cabinets and gorgeous cream worktops have been created by renowned designer George Robinson and the Farrell & Ball painted kitchen comes complete with two Neff ovens and a large Neff hob for rustling up a feast. A fab retro Gorenje fridge/freezer adds a classy touch whilst a stunning oak table and trestle seating is perfect for laid-back dining. There's a breakfast bar too. In winter months there's under floor heating to keep toes warm as well as a pretty white wood burner which adds real ambiance to the room. Additionally, there's a smaller dining table in the living room, a patio set in the back courtyard and a huge wooden table and chairs in the garden alongside the charcoal barbeque.

Sleeping

There are six lovely bedrooms at Alsia Mill. On the second floor lies the master bedroom which is a light, airy space amongst the eaves with incredible views over the garden and a gorgeous Feather & Black wooden super king bed. Immediately next door is a small additional bedroom with a single bed and space for a travel cot - perfect for keeping very little ones close by. On the first floor there is a further king with a Loaf bed and a double with a Feather & Black bed - both which face out front over the gardens, and two twin bedrooms which face out back, ideal for children. Each of the double bedrooms are beautifully decorated, whilst the children's rooms are simply decorated with touches of bright colour. Simple yet luxurious, and with only the sound of the rustling trees to be heard, a peaceful sleep is guaranteed.

Bathing

There are three lovely bathrooms at Alsia Mill. One is situated on ground floor next to the front door and is a wet room - ideal for sandy feet! There is a family bathroom on the first floor with walk-in shower and a large, sumptuous bath ideal for long soaks, whilst on the second floor next to the master bedroom you'll find a pretty bathroom with large walk in shower. All three bathrooms are beautifully tiled and filled with warm, fluffy towels.

Outside space

The garden really is the pièce de résistance of this stunning retreat. Laid in front of the property, there are several lawned areas boarded by banks of pretty flowers. At the bottom of the garden lies a fish filled babbling stream crossed via the ford on arrival or alternatively by a wooden foot-bridge, or if little ones are feeling daring they can use the rope swing! Additionally there's a lovely avenue of trees creating a path which you can walk along in the dappled light, or swing to your hearts' content on the swing in the glade of trees. There's a large table made from oak railway sleepers and lots of chairs for outside dining with a charcoal barbeque, plus a fantastic stone seated area with a fire pit for cosy nights - what could be better than being wrapped up with a hot toddy in hand, watching the stars above through the flickering flames?

WiFi

Alsia Mill is fully WiFi ready with 80Gb FTTP (fibre from the exchange) and Chromecast to allow casting your own content to the TV so if you need to get in touch with the outside world you can.

Dogs

Two dogs are very welcome at Alsia Mill.

In the Area

You'll be spoilt for things to do in this beautiful part of Cornwall. Gorgeous Sennen is just a mile or so up the road and has the most stunning of beaches - a deep, massive swathe of golden sand lined with houses, shops and places to eat. Ben Tunnicliffe serves top notch food with fab views, The Blue Lagoon serves great fish and chips and Little Bo Cafe serves incredible tea and cake.

No trip to the far west would be complete without visiting the incredible Minack Theatre and Porthcurno beach. If you manage to catch a play, be ready to be wowed with the most spectacular backdrop (and they carry on whatever the weather, so be prepared!). If you can't make a show it's not a problem as its open all day and you can pop in and take a look around. The Minack is right next to Porthcurno beach which is another beauty with almost white sands - well worth the climb down.

The coastline from Sennen to St Ives is spectacular, so head for the South West Coast Path for some incredible walks (sturdy shoes a must). St Ives itself is a lovely, bustling seaside town and home to the Tate as well as plenty of beaches, shops and places to eat. In summer it's worth heading to Lelant for the park and ride, catching the train, which runs along the Hayle Estuary and coast, into the centre.

Other places well worth a visit are Lamorna Cove and of course Mousehole, Newlyn and St Michael's Mount on the south coast.
