Living

Stepping inside the attractive stone façade, a spacious entrance framed by high ceilings and exposed wooden beams offers a welcome introduction. Hung with a statement chandelier and adorned in soothing hues, it provides a striking space to settle into home comforts - illuminated by sunshine from large windows in summer and warmed by a wood burning stove in winter. From the entrance, turn left to find the kitchen, or right to seek sumptuous sanctuary in the open-plan lounge.

A beautiful, light-filled space, the delightful living area timelessly blends period features and original stonework with modern luxuries. Settle into the teal corner sofa, dreamy sofa for two, or burnt orange armchair and bask in fireside moments in front of the wood burning stove. With seating arranged around a low footstool and adjoined by an informal dining area, there is an abundance of space to gather with loved ones. For moments lost between the pages, a large floor to ceiling bookcase lines one wall, while for cinematic evenings with heavenly treats, a TV is enclosed within a dark wood cabinet, complete with sound system for added magic. Letting rose-scented breezes drift in from the garden on sunny days, two sets of French doors open from the lounge, leading to the front garden and back courtyard respectively.

An idyllic space to unwind with a book and somewhere special for children to gather for films together, an additional Cinema room can be accessed from the kitchen. Warmed by underfloor heating for utmost bliss, this room stars an oh-so comfortable duo of sofas gathered in front of a large TV. Movie-inspired artwork and a vintage spotlight lamp add ambience, while a Persian rug and plump cushions and throws imbue extra cosiness.

Eating

The beautiful kitchen is a wonderful space for gathering over canapés and conversation. Retaining an authentic farmhouse aesthetic, the flagstone floors are paired with calming Farrell & Ball adorned walls, while egg blue cabinets with gorgeous cream worktops by George Robinson sweep around one side of the room. In the centre, a picturesque breakfast bar takes pride of place with four Chalon wood stools with curved backs, whilst on the other side of the room, an oak dining table sits between two rows of trestle seats and two wooden armchairs.

Proposing the dreamiest feast nights together, the kitchen is equipped with two Neff ovens and a large Neff hob, a retro Gorenje fridge-freezer in cream, and a carefully curated array of accoutrements. In the winter months, underfloor heating and a pretty white wood burner combine to add glorious warmth and ambiance to the room. For additional dining scenes, a smaller dining table resides in the lounge, a patio set awaits in the courtyard, and a large wooden table and chairs rests in the garden, alongside the charcoal barbeque for the most flavoursome repasts.

Sleeping

There are five lovely bedrooms at Alsia Mill, each equally as inviting for restful repose.

The master bedroom takes pride of place on the second floor. A light, airy space nestled within the eaves, it features a gorgeous Feather & Black wooden super king bed dressed in the finest lines. Along the characterfully sloping ceilings, exposed wood beams add charming character to the room, while Dormer windows afford incredible views over the garden. For additional space to recline, this room features a matching wicker sofa and armchair set, topped with plump cushions.

The second bedroom sits on the first floor and is home to a king size Loaf bed dressed in the softest sheets and pretty in pink strawberry and cream throws. On the walls, neutral shades are complemented with subtle artwork, while the powder blue-framed window presents arresting vistas over the gardens.

The third bedroom, an irresistibly comfortable double, is complete with a Feather & Black bed hugged by twin tables. Bedside lamps provide gentle light for evening reads, whilst the garden-view window frames idyllic scenery. For moments of inspiration, this room features a darling writing desk for putting pen to paper, journaling and sketching life's moments.

The third and fourth bedrooms are arranged as tasteful twin rooms. Elegantly decorated with touches of bright colour, each twin bedroom presents two single beds and verdant views over the back garden. Serene yet luxurious, each one promises peaceful sleep soundtracked only by the gentle sound of swaying leaves and bird song.

Bathing

There are three lovely bathrooms at Alsia Mill, each supplied with the fluffiest towels. Located on the ground floor, the first bathroom can be found next to the front door. A spacious wet room with Mediterranean inspired tiling and a walk-in shower, this bathroom is perfect for rejuvenating moments after spellbinding days by the shore.

The second bathroom is a large family bathroom on the first floor decorated with period floor tiles and off-white wall tiles. Offering comfort and convenience, it is designed with a walk-in shower and a large bath ideal for long soaks. On the second floor, the final bathroom is situated next to the master bedroom. Set within the eaves, it features a slanting ceiling on one side and a large Velux window allowing lots of natural light. Styled with tasteful wall tiles in white, this bedroom comes complete with a large walk-in shower.

Outside space

A tranquil arcadia, Alsia Mill's garden extends this stunning retreat with a flowing tapestry of green. To the front, a gorgeous lawned area bordered by banks of pretty flowers invites for morning yoga routines and leisurely afternoon picnics. To the right of the retreat, a large table crafted from oak railway sleepers is hugged by chairs for open-air dining under beaming sun, served by a charcoal BBQ. Meanwhile, a stunning stone seating area stars a large fire pit for cosy nights wrapped under blankets and spotlit by glittering stars.

At the bottom of the garden, a silvery stream runs its course, crossed via the ford on arrival or alternatively by a wooden footbridge. Beyond this, shared grounds unwind into the Cornish countryside and beckon for winsome adventure. Walk along the estate's lovely avenue of trees to follow a path under dappled light, or venture towards the peaceful glade to find a swing suspended between tree branches. From games on the lawn and barbecue feasts to sun-soaked meditation, simple moments in the beauty of nature await.

We know how gorgeous our retreats are, but don’t just take our word for it – here’s what previous guests say about Alsia Mill:

Beautiful house in set in the most amazing gardens, thoroughly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Alsia Mill. The property is spacious, clean and set in beautiful surroundings. We found lots of lovely local beaches (Pedn Vounder/Porthcurno) aswell as restaurants (Old Coastguard and Logan Rock Inn). Not too far from St Ives also which was great for a day trip. The house was very dog friendly and the booking/check-in process was very easy!

The property and the setting is very beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped and when there was a problem with the hot water it was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the housekeeper.

We are a family with 3 children. And we enjoyed the house and the garden very much. The house has everything you need, kitchen fully equiped. I loved the enterior/style of the house, the fire places. The location is perfect, we explored a lot and all in a hour or less from the house. We hope to visit again in the future.

We can’t fault it in any way. Superb. Location, accommodation facilities were all perfect for our family holiday. Would certainly recommend it.

Dream home for a dreamy week in Cornwall! The home and property is even more gorgeous in real life. Will definitely be back.
